We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Burning Sky Lodge. The house is beautiful and just as described, was well stocked, and had unparalleled views. Would love to visit again someday!

This place was absolutely perfect for our family getaway! We were celebrating my dad’s 60th birthday and mourning the loss of his mom (my nana) the day before. It was a much needed mountain escape with family. A few of us skied while the other stayed at the cabin with the babies and enjoyed the hot tub, sledding, watching football and playing in the snow. We used the grill to make a dinner one night and the kitchen to make desserts. The kitchen is well stocked. Our only issue was we didn’t have enough towel between showers and hot tub use. Thankfully there was a washer and dryer that easily solved the problem. We also had issues with wood shavings from the wooden beds. I would also recommend bringing your own curtains if you have babies that need dark to sleep. We saw deer and were able to use the sleds to have fun outside. The ski trails were easily accessible from the cabin. The drive in to town wasn’t horrible either. This place was a perfect weekend retreat.

Wonderful cabin! Beautiful wood log cabin, plenty of space, and beds were all comfortable. Location was perfect! Ski in - ski out and all the deer were a big hit. The only negative was the cabin needs a deep clean and kitchen needs to be organized. It was very difficult to find what you needed to cook simple things. The vent hood definitely needs to be cleaned. Overall a wonderful experience and we’ll be back!

Had an amazing time. Wonderful view. Property was spot on. Home was nicely furnished but didn't make us feel like it was museum. Plenty of beds, linens, and nice extras left for our family. Kids definitely enjoyed the teepee and smores at the firepit.

Loved this house and location - easy access to ski slopes

I just returned from an amazing vacation in Angel Fire, NM, where my family and I stayed at the breathtaking Burning Sky Lodge. The location is truly stunning, and we had a wonderful time hitting the ski slopes and exploring the mountain while the kids were in ski school. We also enjoyed letting the kids be kids and building all sorts of snow structures, as well as feeding wild deer out of our hands and relaxing in the hot tub as snowflakes fell around us.
If you're searching for a cozy and charming log cabin-style retreat in the mountains, this is it. The house itself is equally impressive, with beautiful design and decor, comfortable and stylish furnishings, and a fully equipped kitchen perfect for cooking your own meals. Alternatively, you can head down the mountain to El Jefe's for a margarita and dinner.
What really sets this rental apart, however, is the owners' attention to detail and thoughtfulness. They clearly put a lot of effort into ensuring their guests have a fantastic experience, providing plenty of amenities.
Overall, I highly recommend this rental house in Angel Fire for a peaceful and relaxing getaway in a gorgeous location. It truly felt like a home away from home.

The lodge is roomy and clean with incredible views. Local deer are friendly and will come up for a snack. The ability to come down Texas Flats for ski-in and ski-out flexibility to bring kids to and from the lodge was priceless. We were even lucky enough to enjoy the hot tub as it snowed.
The slopes were fantastic and there were no lines for the lifts.
We have now stayed in this lodge twice and look forward to coming back next year.

Awesome views
Amazing to stay at. The views from the back porch and the windows of the bedrooms are quite astonishing. The access to the mountain from the backyard although you do have to hike your bike a little bit was really cool. My only recommendation is that the mattresses were sub par. We didn't sleep very well.

A dusty cabin
The cabin was absolutely beautiful but you can tell they are refinishing the floors and the smell of varnish had not had adequate time to air out. Additionally, there was a thick layer of dust through out the cabin, wall hangings, ceiling fans, lights etc.. during our stay we had to call the property manager twice. Once because one of the bedrooms linnen had not been cleaned and the sheets were piled on the floor. I found fresh sheets in the closet and finished the bed myself. The second call was because the hot water heater went out and so we had to boil water to bathe. Ultimately the host got a plumber to us and he fixed the water heater. The host was very kind and friendly.
The home was stocked with everything we needed to cook and even had nice appliances. The kids loved the game room and hot tub was clean and in good working order.
With a deep cleaning and new mattresses on all the queen beds we would stay here again. Angel fire is absolutely beautiful.

Annual work ski weekend.
Everyone in my group was thoroughly satisfied with the house. It was close to a ski run. The home was everything as described when we booked.

I'm sorry for the bad review
This house was not at all what we expected. We stayed 2 days and got a refund to rent another home in angel fire. It was not clean, it was not well equipped for the size and accommodating larger families and it was soo hot in the house we couldn't get the heat turned off so we opened the windows. No wood for the fireplace until day 3 when we were leaving, no house manual to explain how things worked and how they wanted us to leave the home when our stay was over. the hot tub was disgusting and didn't work.
On a good note the owners seemed to be understanding although we never spoke to them, we went through the local host. We loved the wild life. We had a momma deer poke her head in the window for some oats. We may be given a bad review because of the problems and my stubbornness to correct what was unacceptable. We did leave the home clean and I've rented many homes for vacations and been given great reviews. I'm just sorry this didn't work out, it was very stressful

Two families rented this wonderful cabin when our cruise was cancelled. We had the best time! The house was gorgeous and wonderfully decorated. Beds were comfy. Super clean. We fed deer. Encountered a bear in the porch one night (no we didn’t leave food out). We especially loved that the kids were on the very bottom floor With bunk beds and a game room (perfect setup) Our only complaints were lack of cooking utensils (and grilling utensils) and the hot tub started to smell after day 2. We will be back!

Not what we expected
We brought our family of six to stay for a week. While we enjoyed the beautiful views from the balcony, there are only two outdoor chairs, so only two of us could sit out and relax at a time. The pool table was fun for all of us to enjoy.
The kitchen has much to be desired! Not only was it needing a serious deep cleaning, It lacked in sufficient cookware. There was not a single mixing bowl, baking sheet/pan. We had to go to town (about a 20 min drive) to purchase aluminum pans just to bake food we wanted to prepare. The grill only has one small corner burner that works so grilling was also a challenge, plus no lighter so had to buy one of those too. There was no dish soap or cleaner of any kind. Be prepared to bring all plastic wrap and foil, cleaner, baking dishes and large mixing bowls, lighters, etc. should you decide to cook at the house. Finally, the most unsettling part of the kitchen was the mice that came out at night from under the cabinets.
Overall the location is beautiful, but I would not stay here again.

Not again
I hate to leave this review, but when I look at properties, I rely heavily on them. I understand that with the Covid, the site Evolve, which is who we had to go through for communication, may have been busy. However, I had been reaching out to them and home host for a couple of weeks regarding our stay. After I booked there was an email about the "optional hot tub fee." Well when I looked for a place to stay that was one of the filters but didn't see you had to pay extra until I had already booked. I think there could have been a better description about this when looking. I had asked the home host who said there was a fee but I would have to contact the evolve site for details. I did just that and wanted clarification because we had already paid for the cabin in full. At this point, I was frustrated that noone had clarified this until we were headed there. Between the home host and the evolve site, I also had to clarify the address. The evolve emails had 3 different addresses, one including Tennessee. As someone who lives out of state & had to drive in, I was beginning to get worried. I emailed the home host and after several emails, was able to clarify. We have booked cabins before so knowing they won't be in perfect condition is expected. We had to walk back out of home once we got there so my husband could figure out a way to get a swarm of bees out of one of the rooms. There was also a smell coming out of the bottom and main floor bathrooms that didn't let up (septic tank kind of smell). We planned to use the grill one day and bought groceries to do so. Its a 20 min drive from town to the cabin and so once we had gone up and prepared food, we realized there was no propane in propane tank. The home host did reimburse us the cost of a new tank but we had to drive back down to get one. I also clarified the grill was operational and was told it was. Once we got back and started grill, we quickly realized that the flames were so low that it took over an hour to try to cook the meat & couldnt get it cooked all the way. Threw all of the chicken out and half of the steaks we bought. The views are amazing! The patio is huge! Was so nice to stand out & watch the sunrise and sunset. We were a party of ten and there were two chairs for the patio. I have stayed at other locations & never have had this experience. Am sad to have to leave this review.

Burning Sky house
Our family really enjoyed the stay here. The house is beautiful and the sunsets are unreal. The house does have some minor maintenance that needs to be addressed, kitchen cookware needs some attention and beds could use updating. Technically it was a ski-in/ski-out but the Texas run has since been closed. At least January 2020. It was ski-able but getting off the run to the house was difficult. Be sure to enjoy the hot tub if you stay!! It was perfect after cold days playing in the snow.
