We had 4 couples attend our sibling reunion and it was great that we didn't have to draw straws for the rooms. The common area and pool area were very nice. The kitchen had all the necessary cooking pots/pans/utensils and there were spices and things left from past guests. The frogs and birds serenaded us in the morning and evening. Very easy to go to sleep with. All in all a great trip.

We had an incredible stay at Hale Pinao! The pictures on the listing don't quite do this place justice. It is absolutely stunning and has everything you need for a large group. The communal space has a nice kitchen as well as two large tables to gather around for meals and games. The outdoor space is tropical, serene, and very private. Our group enjoyed the pool and hot tub each day and we lit the tiki torches at night. The neighborhood is incredibly safe and quiet. It feels like you are in the country, but town and beaches are just a 10-15 minute drive away. I highly recommend this space and look forward to staying here again!!

The property was a gem for our multi generational family of 11. Loads of space and privacy. Just about any needed item was available in this home. The pool was a hit with the grandchildren along with the lovey natural surroundings and sunset view. The outdoor kitchen was a hit with our son in law who did much of the dinner cooking for the group.

We have been visiting various Hawaiian Islands for the past 20 years. Villa Pinao is the best VRBO that we have stayed at. The layout is fantastic for our party of 10. Each couple had their own Master Suite and the teenagers each had their own space. My son-in - laws loved the combination Bar-B-Que and Bar Hutch where plenty of good food and drinks were served up. The table for 10 on the Lanai worked perfectly for us. The wives all enjoyed the fully equipped kitchen in the central dining/ living space. Everyone enjoyed all of the beach equipment that was available for their use. The teenagers enjoyed inflating the blowup rafts. The pool and the hot tub were great after a day of exploring the Big Island. The pool is not heated but it felt good after you were in for awhile. I would recommend staying at Villa Pinao for anyone who has a large family!

This place was amazing. It had everything we needed and than some. Perfect location. All amenities were great for our group. Loved the bungalows...they were perfect! Can't wait to come back.

We loved the house and all the amenities! There was plenty of room for our entire family. The pool, hot tub and outdoor kitchen were amazing. It was such a nice area for everyone to gather. We would definitely stay here again!

Good: Sunsets, pool - was regularly cleaned, outside grill area, quiet neighborhood, quick drive to stores, nice individual “quarters” with mini fridges, outdoor showers, plenty of space to spread out, fans in rooms, comfortable bed, tiki torches. Could improve: dishwasher falls forward, stock with basics: TP, paper towels, detergent, cling wrap, cleaning supplies. Both blender and toaster didn’t work. Clear out ancient food and spices, when outdoor sink is on, makes a really loud noise in bedroom, floors didn’t seem very clean or swept when we arrived. Bonus would be something to keep away flies and mosquitoes. That being said, we had a wonderful time at this house! The layout was perfect and everyone having there own space was a big plus.

We had planned this family vacation before Covid. We loved the property especially the four main suites. Plenty of space for all. Highly recommend.

Enjoyed the property..had a few issues with maintenance ( no hot water) and (alarm going off intermittently). House manager was responsive and took care of our issues. Great location and close to restaurants ,shopping, and sites. Would definitely come back.

Great location, amenities and all around perfect fit for my vacation with 10 people. Some minor repairs are needed but was very happy overall.

Our family enjoyed the back yard entertaining area and the four masters provided privacy and personal space. Only transition from east coast family was no AC, but fans and open windows with screens kept us comfortable. It was a great location and extremely safe neighborhood. We loved it!

We enjoyed staying at this place. We have privacy for everyone because of the detach master bedroom. Highly recommended.

As there were 12 of us it was a great setup with 4 casita type master bedrooms, an outdoor kitchen and additional sleeping areas. It was fully stocked with Kerigs and bar fridges in each casita and the kitchens had everything. Some of the appliances etc could use updating but otherwise a great place to stay.

This home layout was a perfect fit for our family with adult children. We particularly liked the outdoor kitchen and used it daily. We were just 12 minutes to Kona and 10 to groceries. There are plenty of comfortable lounging areas inside and out that allowed for us to gather or find a quiet place for reading. The patio lounge, which we used the most, would benefit from somehow attaching the cushions, as they slid out from under you so easily when you sit. I appreciated having large pool towels provided on the back patio, the outdoor showers and the full size washer & dryer. The crown for us was the beautiful sunsets we enjoyed from the hottub and back patio.

We had a very pleasant stay, the house is well oriented.

We’ve previously stayed at many VRBO properties and this one is by far the best! It is a lovely, amazing house. But more than that, every amenity one can imagine was provided including pool toys, exercise equipment, very completely equipped kitchen, actually two kitchens, and so much more. The photos and descriptions don’t do it justice. The property manager was very responsive to my messages and requests. We highly recommend this truly amazing rental and its owners.

Our party consisted of 13 persons Including children, teens, and adults. The individual villas were perfect! We all loved the outdoor showers. We all enjoyed the nature surrounding the villa from the variety of lizards, birds, fish pond, and the flowers. The property is 17 miles from the ocean and views were limited related to the trees. We loved the outdoor tiki bar and cooked most of our meals outside. The pool remained ice cold and many of us never entered related to its temp even as it was beautiful and hot outside. The hot tub heat was only on from 7-9pm. Hot tub also was cold and Luke warm when it was heated. Kona does not have the ideal beaches to swim for kids and the cold pool temps were the only downside. The dining room chairs need replaced, springs broken and the dryer vent needs replaced as clothing did get hung up on it and ruined a couple tank tops. Overall this property was a perfect spot and fit our needs for our big family. It was well stocked and provided all the amenities. We loved exploring Kona and its surrounding villages. The active volcano is 96 miles away and it was amazing to see! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us! Mahalo🙏

Wonderful house for a group vacation with 4 master suites!

We had an amazing time here! Beautiful house that is layer out so everyone gets enough space to themselves and there is tons of room for mingling and playing by the pool. When we decided to come back to Kona, I’ll definitely look at booking this again. The views were stunning. The pictures definitely didn’t do that justice.

This place was better than advertised! Our group of 9 age ranges 40-75, was thoroughly impressed with the home, amenities, location and views. The layout is ideal for groups. Privacy in the suites, and an amazing outdoor kitchen and living space for socializing and meals. The pool and hot tub were great! The sunset views each night were consistently fabulous!! This place gets a unanimous 5 stars from all of us!

There were 4 couples in our group and each had their own Primary Suite which was awesome. Loved the 'outside' showers. House and property are gorgeous. Played pickleball on the tennis court at the end of the driveway. Easy/short drive down the hill into Kona. Kitchen was nicely stocked with all of the essentials (and even a few extras). The oven broke down on our first day and was unable to be used for the duration of our stay which was a bit inconvenient. We were told we would receive a small refund, which has not happened, as well as an encounter with an uninvited rodent guest that was dealt with upon our departure. There is a limit on the amount of toilet paper provided - one roll per bathroom - which was not adequate for our 9 day stay. Overall, good communication with the property manager and would absolutely stay here again!

We were here for 3 weeks and couldn’t have been happier with this property. It was exactly as advertised. A huge storm came through on day 2 of our stay, which brought heavy rain and a power outage. This revealed a couple minor issues, which we shared with the property manager but in no way affected the enjoyment of our stay. The separate bedrooms are for all intents and purposes individual hotel rooms, providing plenty of private space along with the large gathering space. Perfect for large groups that need a little alone time every now and then. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone!

Everything you need in this beautiful home. It was an easy check-in and check-out out. The sound of nature all the time in the quiet and peaceful area. It was wonderful to wake up to a beautiful sunrise and to end your day with a beautiful sunset to a fantastic view of the ocean in the distance.

This VRBO highly exceeded our expectations. It was fit for 14 of us from ages 6 all the way to 74! The master suites with separate entrances were perfect, the kitchen full stocked, an abundance of towels. The pool was a knock out for the kids. The open concept and large seating arrangements suited us just right. It was a peaceful stay and I would recommend to anyone traveling with a larger group.

We traveled with 13 of us (9 children ages 5-15 and 4 adults). The house had plenty of room and the layout was excellent! We loved the pool and hot tub and spent much of our time outdoors. We appreciated how well stocked the indoor and outdoor kitchens were, plenty of dishes and cooking utensils even spices and cooking oil. The closet with beach stuff was nice and we bought a new beach umbrella to add to it.

We truly enjoyed our stay. The hot tub, outdoor kitchen and pool was amazing. The villas and house were spacious. Would definitely recommend for big families.

Wonderful rental for a three generation Family vacation. Host was splendid!! Property was beautful!!

We loved this gorgeous property, especially the outdoor areas, and ate every meal outside. Altho the pool isn’t heated, the sun warmed it up each day and it was very comfortable. The separate master suites were great, providing privacy when desired. Only complaint is that one of the suites had no hot water during our 11 day stay, but other showers are available. A few repairs are needed, but this in no way affected our enjoyment of the villa.

The property manager was great. She took care of all issues that were within her power to take care of as soon as she could. The pool is cold, but the kids liked it. The hot tub was great - just remember to start the heat 45 mins before using. They had tons of pool toys, sand toys, beach towels, nice beach chairs, a beach umbrella, body boards, etc. We really appreciated this aspect. The kids LOVED feeding the fish in the pond. They provided paper towels, tp, dishwasher soap, dish soap, laundry soap, and some pantry items. Kitchen was fully stocked. The property is located high up where it rains every single afternoon. All of them on our stay. Sometimes the mornings are less cloudy. Rain brings slugs - copious amounts of them. Because the bedrooms are detached from the main house, make sure you bring waterproof shoes to prevent slipping and stepping on the slugs. Slugs also inhabit the outside showers (all showers are outside). The roof leaks. Grandma wanted to take a nap on the lani in the soothing rain. But the rain comes in the light over the seating area and it's not possible to enjoy that space in the rain. The very last night of my stay, I woke up at 2:30am. The rain was dripping on my pillow from a different roof leak. I had to wake my husband so we could pull the bed out from the wall so I could go back to sleep. There is no AC so opened the windows and I was woken each morning by the neighborhood rooster. I was never hot at night, but no AC makes everything feel wet to me. My sister from Virginia didn't notice as much, but I live in a desert so I felt it more. We did have a pleasant stay and it was nice to have so much room in the house. *Caution - this house has no way to secure the pool from a small child. There are no door alarms or fences. If you have ANY doubt about your child's ability to swim and/or listen and follow directions do not rent this house*
