The rooms are charming and spacious - furnished in a period style that goes very well with the high ceilings and period features, but they are also very comfortable. We were a party of three and we could be private from the person in the other room but could contact them easily, which worked very well. The accommodation is on the main street in Yass so we had no problem finding somewhere to eat and somewhere to buy a newspaper. The final small point is that the towels are coloured - I am so sick of white towels it was a blessed relief to see prettily coloured towels.

The bathroom is right at the back of the house which was a bit difficult to navigate in the middle of the night. Apart from that I had no problems at all.

If you are not a light sleeper, it is a convenient cheap and basic option on the main street of Yass. It’s next door to a petrol station that opens at 5am, handy for early starts.

Please do not do anything wrong by these owners! I’ve had previous stays without issue, but not this time! The continued harassment by phone and messaging after failing to advise in a timely manner that a component of the screen door had fallen off (hitting me on its way down and the door still able to be closed btw) has continued for 3 days. Multiple phone calls and text messages to my phone and through booking.com. First message, ‘Thank you for breaking the door and not bothering to tell us’. After letting them know that yes, a piece of the door hit me on the head when leaving, and operating the door normally so if that was enough for it to break perhaps it wasn’t fit for purpose, and that they were right, I should have called them when it happened (6:30am), I got the following… ‘you must have a very strong way of opening doors. Please look elsewhere to stay next time’, and then, ‘ok maybe not call us at 6.30 am but you could have informed us with a text message well before 12.30pm’, which I had already acknowledged I should have. But, it didn’t end there! ‘No one else has ever complained or been hit in the head. Which metal bit struck and hit you? And, after telling them I thought their messages to me were horrid, the door was faulty and to maybe start their next inquisition with a question rather than an accusation, and to stop harassing me, I got, ‘it was astounding to find that somehow you had got hit on the head with the security screen mechanism. They don’t come out that easily and in 4.5 years no one has ever complained or been hit by the security door. Apologies if you got a headache, but you mentioned you were not well before the incident occurred either(?!). If you had texted us after the incident, not at 6.30 am or 12.30 pm we would have been even more concerned (😶) and attentive. The onus is on the guest to inform the host if anything goes wrong or gets broken. Then we can fix it. It’s never happened before.

Breakfast provisions available. Very nice muesli, sourdough bread etc. Included in price. Unexpected furnishings but suited era of building. No staff seen so could not answer question about staff.

Toilet a bit of a walk through passage and a large old kitchen. Bit off putting at night. Could have a problem if my partner had not been looking at his I Pad early prior to leaving our previous stay. Saw message on e-mail about how to access the key in safe outside door of Yass B & B. Neither of us has our phones set up to receive e-mails and if he had not seen this message on his I Pad, we would not have thought to unpack this when we got to the property and found we could not get in. Suggest owners send messages via text message to phones. Not everyone has e-mail on their phones.

The beautiful old building is close walking distance to shops, supermarkets, restaurants. The room was warm and welcoming. It was well appointed with everything you could expect.

Cosy and comfy, easy to access and a great location

Breakfast was generous and varied. Bed was extremely comfortable. Access to the kitchen was valuable. Loved the quaint nod to heritage features. We appreciated the mobile heater as we could use it as soon as we arrived.

It was cold until the heaters started as they were on a timer. We were disappointed with the old lounges (as they were uncomfortable) and with the TV options. We needed to use our laptop to access the AFL games and movies.

Great place, excellent value to stay overnight on our way up north. It was charming, spacious and very comfortable with a nice breakfast supplied. We were very grateful to the hosts for allowing us to bring our Groodle Ollie as well.

Location was incredible. Right in the Main Street and walking distance to the pubs and Yazz Bar.

There was confusion with the check in details.

Great facilities,very comfortable with separate rooms for living, sleeping, with a shared kitchen and meals area if desired. Living room had breakfast facilities with cereals and toast making.Tea, coffee and fresh milk provided. Rooms were pre warmed prior to arrival. Easy access via key safe. Communication was prompt and friendly.

I felt very at home, the bed was cosy and it had a lot of lovely finishing touches. It was very centrally located, the amenities were great and staff provided clear direction.

Seeing as you share a bathroom and kitchen it would be good to be advised if someone else was staying also. I don’t think anyone else was there but I think I would have gotten a fright If there was and I wasn’t aware.

Good central location. Large back yard and secure off street parking. Very comfortable bed and soft pillow. Simple breakfast provided. Close to coffee shop and restaurants

A long walk to the bathroom and small sitting rm.

Very old and historic building. Loved the history. Very nice little town. Planning to come back to explore more as only stayed over night to break our journey. We had everything we needed. The owners were very friendly and hospitable. AndI liked the fact we could have our dogs inside in crates. Not wandering around.
