Sandy Bum is probably the most amazing rental where we have ever stayed! Less than 10 minutes from 2 grocery stores, liquor store, and pizza place (I eliminated several places to stay because they were too far from the grocery!) The house itself is STUNNING! The pool was perfect, lounging in the water with a level of water low enough (on the highest level) for even the littlest kids to play easily. Another huge plus for us was the 2 dishwashers! Also, access to a monster washer and dryer allowed us to keep all towels clean and dry! There were tons of little kids beach toys and we made some great sand castles! The views from almost all rooms can't be beat! My husband and son both appreciated the work out room and the teens enjoyed the game room! We had a few small problems with the individual air conditioners or fans, but Esther was AMAZING, she was right on it and had all issues solved within 24 hours of being notified (on an island that is unbelievable!) The Cabana also was a big plus with the added convenience of 2 small refrigerators there to keep cold drinks close at hand and not having to go in the house! Parking and getting in and out can be a bit tight with a larger car! We also really appreciated the outdoor couch overlooking the steps to the beach! Overall I don't think there could be any place nicer or better maintained! Thank you Neil for being willing to continue to invest in an amazing property! As my son in law said, "everything is rock solid top of the line."

Sandy Bum is the perfect vacation house for the large family or group. First, the pool and cabana would be more at home at a luxury resort than a stand-alone rental. Numerous lounging options provide something for everyone: quality deck chairs for sunbathing; zero-depth loungers to cool off while staying in the sun; and multiple choices inside the cabana give visitors a chance to enjoy the ocean breeze from the shade (the convenience of a grill and wet bar in the cabana requires no elaboration). Second, the water is (literally) a stone's throw from the infinity edge/deck. This proximity provides a constant supply of pleasant ocean breeze and wave noise. This also means that lugging the myriad ocean toys (kayaks, SUPs, etc.) from the house to the water is a straightforward job. Third, the home's common spaces provide the perfect platform for family gatherings. The kitchen and bar area is big enough to accommodate large numbers while still keeping people close enough to enjoy each other's company. The other living and rec areas give the same feel. Finally, Sandy Bum excels where so many other rentals fail: the details. The finishes throughout the house are top notch, and "minor" features here and there make major improvements to the experience. Examples: most (perhaps all) of the light switches in the house are labeled, meaning one need not flip every switch to find the lights under the cabinets in the middle of the night; the sand shower and hose are located at just the right spot (where the deck transitions from sandy concrete steps to clean decking material) and ensure that visitors can go straight from beach to pool; two mini fridges in the cabana mean that everyone in the large party can stay refreshed without leaving the cabana (given the size of the home, 1 mini fridge worth of drinks does not go very far in the Bahamian heat); and the bathroom in the cabana keeps wet folks from having to trek through the house and back out again just for a break. All of this combined with the isolated feel and close proximity to GGT airport, multiple other beaches, and George Town add up to a wonderful rental house experience.
