We were a family of 16, 8 adults and 8 grandchildren -aged 6-11.There was plenty of space for each family and for common areas for gatherings. The pool (and hot tub) and beach were beautiful and water perfectly clear and warm.The staff were 5 star in every way. Gustavo cooked amazing meals and the home was impeccable as well as the laundry service .The concierge was completely committed to us and our needs and made memorable suggestions for outings and trips for the entire week. Outstanding vacation was had by all three generations!

Teh accommodations were great, we took advantage of using golf carts and that would be a benefit if they were automatically included. Teh option to have massages was amazing and we took in some tours that were wonderful.

This is a luxury home and top-notch company to book your Costa Rica trip with. We were treated like royalty. The whole process was seamless and anything we asked or needed was addressed immediately. The staff at this home is amazing to work with. We enjoyed meeting all of them and visiting with them daily as they prepared delicious meals and made sure the home was clean and neat. We are already talking about when we will return. Book this home, you won’t be disappointed! A true dream vacation.

Casa Taj is incredible! You literally walk out the back door of one of the most beautiful houses I've ever seen onto one of the best beaches I've ever been to. The onsite staff was fantastic, especially the chefs. The staff also took care of all laundry and cleaning every day. We really enjoyed our stay at Casa Taj!

Casa Taj exceeds all expectations. There were 16 of us with 8 grandchildren aged 6-11 and everyone loved it. The cook,Gustavo, made 5 star breakfasts and dinners meeting everyone choices and the entire staff are outstanding in their jobs as well as friendliness and support.The pool and beach are child safe and fun for all ages.The concierge Michelle was on call at all times and gave us invaluable suggestions for outings, restaurants and a photographer for a family beach photo(Javier was also great dealing with everyone.All 16 of us highly recommend!

The best thing about this property were the staff it was so relaxing not to have to worry about food and to have the beds made the house cleaned and even laundry done on a daily basis my girls especially appreciated a vacation time where all of us at a VRBO could have a wonderful vacation

When we pulled up to the property I was in utter disbelief! I couldn't have imagined how truly incredible this property was from the pictures. Walking up the grand front entrance stairs made me feel as though I just won the lottery. We arrived shortly before dinner, and the smells coming from the kitchen, as our chef cooked our first meal, sent my mouth watering. Upon arrival, we met our maid, our chef, and his sous chef. There was absolutely nothing that they hadn't thought of to make our stay perfect. There was a daily landscaper who made us an amazing bonfire one evening, cut down coconuts for our drinking pleasure, and made sure everything was ready each day for us to enjoy the pool and beach. All our of meals were delicious and made as requested. One of our travelers was gluten-free, and the chef always went out of his way to make sure his meal was similar to ours, but gluten-free. The chef gave us the receipts, daily, for our food costs, and while higher than what we might pay in the US, it was still very reasonable, and much less expensive than eating out daily. We never seemed to even lift a finger during our week-long stay. The maid did everything daily, including washing and folding all of our laundry (not an easy task since there were 15 of us). If you are looking for a vacation of a lifetime for a large group, this is the place!

It's hard to put into words. I have had best friends that I've stayed in touch with since we first met in Kindergarten - and we all just celebrated our 50th birthday together here at Casa Taj. Casa Taj served up an experience that far exceeded any of our expectations - all 18 of us. The property is beautiful and offers the perfect home base. The amenities, the pool, the beach, close to a few bars and within an hour or so of other cities to visit, waterfalls, golf courses, etc. The property is stunning but is only really 1/3 of the benefits of booking here. The next 1/3 is the Concierge service. Michelle took care of so much for us while we were planning and while were there. She booked us a tee time at Conchal Reserva. What a great course to play. Transportation transfers if needed, Excursion recommendations, setting up massages at the home (which we did 3 days), helping with WiFi needs (can be spotty), helping with air conditioner issues. Neither the WiFi nor the a/c issues took anything from the trip at all. This is just a note that they fix things that may go wrong very quickly. I would lean on the Concierge service heavily before and while you are there. The incredible Final 1/3 of Casa Taj is the staff. Gustavo, the chef, serves up culinary tastes that will WOW you - WOW YOU! Moises, his assistant and bartender made us laugh all the time. The maid and security service was above expectations. A Celebration of a Lifetime! Thank you to Everyone!

Highlights of this property is definitely the view and staff. Our large family visited with all ages. The rooms are spacious with locations matching the listing exactly. The staff made us feel spoiled with fresh coconut water, bon fires, daily breakfast and dinner, and daily maid service. The water is calmer here than other nearby beaches which worked well for the littles. Property management arranged jet skis, massages, and a golf all of which I highly recommend. Food for chef was reasonably priced and paid daily. Food was excellent! He even cooked the fish we caught. We will return to Casa Taj without hesitation!

We had the absolute best time. The house is so much more amazing in person - which is really saying something. The location right on the beach is beautiful and it's just a two minute golf cart ride into town. We loved how chill and peaceful the area was. From babies to Grandparents this house was perfect for everyone, I highly recommend it. We also were BEYOND thrilled with Chef Gustavo who was just downright amazing. The staff went above and beyond to support us and make the stay perfect. When one of the babies got sick, the Chef even offered to drive to the urgent care with us so we could follow him and not get lost, this was seriously amazing since sick babies make for stressed out parents and this relieved a lot of worry. We LOVED our stay and will seriously consider returning.

We were absolutely blown away with the beautiful home, location and the service we received from Chef Gustavo and Moses. Could not of been any better. Will be back again. We had 21 of of and treated like royalty. Best vacation ever!

We had 20 of us for a week. Absolutely loved our stay! Any concerns were addressed immediately, the chef and staff were delightful, plenty of space for all of us to be together, or be alone as we liked. The walkthrough was completely uninformative, but everything else was perfect!

We took our kids and grandkids to celebrate our 70th birthdays, ages 5 months to 70. Perfect location, Gustavo and all the staff were excellent!

Everything about our stay was beyond our expectations. The chef, Gustavo, made the most delicious meals. The bartender kept our drinks flowing. The housekeepers worked every day in an already clean house, and they did our laundry, which was a pleasant surprise. The pool man gave us fresh coconuts from the trees. The security guard was there but we were never unsafe. The location is directly on a quiet beach. The house is next to the public access, but you would not ever know. The landscaping secludes the house from any passerby. You are only a short walk down the beach to a few fun bars/resteraunts. Book a golf cart for easy travel to the local Merkado for any necessities. The concierge Magui made this trip so enjoyable from start to finish ensuring that we were prepared for our vacation. She scheduled excursions and transportation for anything we needed. She checked on us throughout our stay to make sure everything was going well. If you are second-guessing booking this house, don't. It is everything the description says, and so much more.

My guest and I were blown away by the property. The pictures were exactly what we saw and even better! The food was superb. Being able to wake up and walk directly to the beach everyday was such an amazing experience. Messages were answered promptly too. We plan to come back in 2024 for sure.

The Casa Taj on Playa Potrero lived up to expectations! The location is stunning, the beach was beautiful and quiet even during the most popular time of year, and the staff, inclusive of chef and kitchen helpers, housekeepers, pool attendant, and security made the experience something truly special. The house itself is fantastic, with incredible views of the beach, great pool, lawn games, beach chairs, and beautiful sunsets!

The property was stunning and perfectly located on the beach. The chef was better than any restaurant we tried in Costa Rica (including Tamarindo). Gustavo is the man! I've never seen cleaner floors. There were some ants in the upstairs bathrooms but that's to be expected as they were indoor/outdoor. We had some issues with the a/c when we first arrived that they sent maintenance the same day to address it. The guests washer/dryers weren't working so the cleaning staff washed and folded our laundry each day (a win in my book). We had an issue with a large bag of edibles that went missing on day one. The property's security guard made us feel safe at night b/c there is some foot traffic to the beach. Unbeatable sunsets each night! Never felt unsafe, even after dark. Overall, I highly recommend this house. The staff is incredible (minus the missing item). The Mgmt company was great as well. I did not notify them of the above b/c we had no proof it was taken.

Absolutely the most amazing vacation! The house is beautiful, the staff took care of everything and made sure we were comfortable and happy. They truly exceeded expectations. Absolutely amazing stay! This house was unreal! The staff were a dream, you barely knew the house cleaning staff was there (in a good way) they stayed out of the way and keep everything spotless, if we needed anything there got it right away. The maintenance/pool guy keep the pool and grounds looking stunning. We mentioned we wanted to have a fire and the next morning he had one set up for us. Every morning he was out pumping up our pool floats and was just down right an awesome guy!! THE FOOD wow. Gustavo deserves five stars. He was the real gem of the house. His food was to die for. I felt like we were eating in a five star restaurant. Every meal was to die for. Each day we set the time for breakfast and dinner and it was alway on time. Each day we paid for the meals he made sure to give me receipts and the exact change. I want to go back just to have him cook for us. The bartender/ chefs helper Moises was so accommodating and made any drinks we wanted. Having him make drinks during pool party hours was so worth it, it allowed us to relax and feel like we were at a resort. The security guard was a nice touch but probably not needed. He did make our guest feel safe and we were happy to have him around. It was set up perfectly for a large group, each room had its own bathroom so couples had their own space. The rooms were large and comfortable. The pool area was well maintained and created a nice area to relax and have fun. having the ocean a few steps away made it easy for everyone to enjoy without worrying about leaving the house or packing up the car. There was plenty of areas and room in the house for 18 people to comfortably hangout and not feel cramped. The house was in walking distance to stores and bars which made it easy for venturing out. The only negative was one of the king suites, with the best view, ac unit didn’t work the whole trip so we weren’t really able to use the room it was to warm in there since it was on the top floor it got to hot to comfortably sleep in. The staff keep trying to get it to work but it would only turn on for 10 mins and shut off. We had to shuffle some people around but it didn’t ruin our stay.

Couldn't ask for a better experience. The house and staff were superb! Loved having cooked meals, a clean house every day, and such friendly and prompt service. Highly recommend!!!

We stayed here with a group of 18 to celebrate my wife’s 50th birthday. This property is excellent for anyone wanting to stay with a large group. Maria the property manager was excellent responding, helping to arrange for excursions, and fixing the minor issues we experienced while there. The chef and his assistant fixed spectacular meals for Both breakfast and dinner.

We were a group of 15 non-surfing adults looking for a house on a calm beach and this house fit the bill. Spacious, airy, beautifully appointed, we really felt comfortable. Eight of the bedrooms are roomy and light, the 9th is a bit small and dark, but fine for kids. The pool/spa/lower patio area is quite comfortable and while not totally private (it IS right on the beach, after all), it afforded a fairly secluded feeling. The upper patio off the dining room was our favorite place to hang out with lovely views and comfortable seating. The staff was very competent and helpful. The meals provided by Gustavo were all excellent - our dinner one night consisting of an array of his best appetizers was amazing. The cleaning staff was friendly, thorough and unobtrusive. Moises, the bartender and all around helper, was fun and eager to help with whatever was needed. Maria at Tropical Homes (the rental agency) was extraordinarily helpful with my hundreds of questions and requests. She even researched what it would cost to get a gluten-free cake in town for 15 people! Airport transfers, a wide variety of tours, best grocery store and places to hear live music - Maria was on it. Playa Protero is a short walk down the beach or drive on the road. Easy to get groceries (and cocktails makings!) and lots of cute places to get a snack, meal and/or beer or cocktail. Would definitely rent here again (and would be most grateful if the A/C units were quieted a bit)! Wonderful stay!

The casa taj staff gave us a unbelievable experience . There was 17ppl in my group and not one complaint from anyone.

Casa Taj was a perfect place for our family reunion of 17 adults. Everything advertised was accurate and the house is very spacious and clean. The pool, dining room, deck, beach and bar area gave us plenty of room to visit with each other and enjoy the gorgeous view and sunsets. There were kayaks, SUP and boogie boards at the house. Gustavo and Gabriella prepared delicious meals for us. We chose from their menu book but also came up with other items we wanted and all turned out absolutely delicious! It was such a treat to not have to shop, cook or clean up. There is also an ice machine which was a huge bonus for the size of our group. The staff was friendly and helpful in setting up a bonfire for us one night and assisting in getting fishing poles for those that wanted. The cleaning crew worked very hard and kept everything perfectly swept and clean. Our laundry was done a couple of times throughout the week so we didn't have to overpack. Unfortunately, everything would have been perfect except for our concierge. We were given Pamela through Tropical Vacations of Costa Rica. She was very friendly in speaking and emailing with her but she was difficult to get ahold of and I sometimes waited weeks to hear back regarding simple questions. I thought she would be more readily available when we were in town but while there, she answered one of my questions and then that was it. On the last night she notified me she wasn't able to get ahold of me all week via Whatsapp (I could see she read my messages) and that she was actually in San Jose for two weeks. We've done this kind of vacation before and communicated with other concierges so I can honestly say, I/we are not overbearing or needy. We had lost the key to one of the safes and needed assistance in getting our passports out. Thankfully Gustavo called the maintenance man and he helped us. This was an incredible vacation and I regret having to add negative comments so my hope is there is a change made so others who are doing this for their first time, feel a little more supported. I would definitely return if we had a different contact person.

Casa Taj is a terrific house and accommodated our group of 16 people very well. we had 8 adults and 8 teens. The bedrooms and beds were very comfortable and each bedroom having its own bathroom was very nice. The two indoor/outdoor bathrooms on the 3rd floor were especially nice - you could hear the ocean waves while showering! The chef cooked amazing food for breakfast and dinner every day. It was wonderful to plan meals a day in advance and then just show up at the agreed-upon time for each meal - they even did the shopping for the meals! The bartender was also amazing - he made all of the drinks from scratch with fresh fruits and vegetables - was wonderful. The daily maid service was also nice. With daily laundry, you really only need a few outfits for an entire week. The beach was nice and the pool and patio area was lots of fun every day for our group. I would say the beach is not for surfing if that’s your focus. The sunsets each day were some of the best I’ve ever seen. The only slightly annoying thing was that some of the air conditioners didn't work very well. All were fixed quickly once we mentioned it....so mention it quickly if it happens to you! All in all we would definitely go back!
