I would definitely go to A Counting Waves again. Beautiful property, well maintained with great amenities. Very kid friendly and an excellent location close to restaurants and the beach.

A very nice home… definitely family friendly…great location… If you’re planning a trip to the OBX… you won’t be disappointed…. Just like home!

The space under the house was probably the best surprise for us. Having that space for the kids to hang out made sure they were never bored.

The house was nice! Good location easy access to the beach..couple things that could be fixed but just minor cosmetic things, ( cupboard knobs are loose). The bed in the bedroom next to the one with the bunk beds is not very comfortable and very squeaky..a little more seating in the living room to accommodate the amount of people the house can sleep and maybe a reclining piece..otherwise super cozy and would definitely stay here again!

The house was great. Neighbors were friendly. Not too far of a walk to the beach. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely return.

The house is a nice size, well equipped kitchen. A few things I didn’t care for were the king bed in the second bedroom is noisy and not very comfortable. To me it didn’t look like it had been cleaned before we got there, disappointed by that, black mold in both showers, dust on both toilets, dirty floors all around the baseboards. It’s fairly close to the main road and can hear road noise, can’t see the ocean or even hear it from the house.

We enjoyed our stay recently at this property. It is conveniently located to allow site seeing around the outer banks. The neighborhood is safe and the home has some great decking for outside seating! There are many historical sites within an hour or less and all are easy to get to. The house was great, but a couple of things would have made it most accommodating. It would have been nice to have dish towels and rags on hand and garbage bags. Also, more attention to detail with cleaning could be improved on. Overall, we liked the location and our stay!

The beach house was just as the explanation listed. Good location, nice size both inside and out, good information from pre-trip. We would definitely request to stay again!

This house was great with proximity to the beach and local restaurants. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this house to anyone visiting the Outer Banks!

This house was in a great location, close to a gas station, a drug store and literally right behind a restaurant as well as walking distance to a few breakfast spots and public access to the beach and a local ice cream joint. Check in and out was simple. The house was clean and there were some left overs from the previous guests ( toilet paper, hand soap and paper towels) we left some behind as a start for the next ones also. Renting linens for our stay was unsuccessful, so keep in mind that there are no towels and linens provided- I missed that in my initial review of the house. The porch and "family space" below the house were exceptional. You can't see the water from the porch but you can hear it. I would absolutely stay here again! And have already recommended the house to others

This house was amazing for our trip. The sand box underneath the house kept my kids entertained for hours while we were not out on the beach. It was a great and can’t wait to stay there again!

We all felt right at home. Such a lovely and inviting beach home. Our family of 6 had plenty of space, inside and out. The owner was very helpful in providing information that made our stay even better.

Cute home, we loved all the colors and special touches. Good location to travel up and down OBX. Couple of things could use some attention - the king bed in the guest room could use a refresh, the shower drain in the master bathroom gurgles a lot which it shouldn't be doing (doesn't sound like there is a trap in there) and we did have a fairly good size red cockroach in the master bedroom shower. We only saw one which we killed but it may be time to have pest control in again. These were all minor issues that wouldn't prevent us from staying here again.

We really enjoyed this beautiful house. The cleaning person did not do a good job but there was a vacuum and broom that we could use and we did. The only thing I wish the owner would change is the mattress in the middle bedroom. It’s very uncomfortable and loud when you move the slightest bit.. My hubby, 5 year old and myself slept in the bed. It could just be a queen in the room so it would be more room to move around. Overall we loved the openness of the home and location.

The location of this house could not have been more convenient- minutes from anything you need, 5 minute walk to the beach, and close to fun attractions. Our family was very comfortable here, plenty of space and comfortable beds. We will definitely be back!

I’m just going to write the pros and cons. Pros: -House was a perfect size for us. 4 adults 2 children. - Very clean - Decorated nicely - Deck was a very nice hangout area. Cons: -Mattresses were not comfortable. The nicest one was in the master. The other rooms felt like you were laying on a board. - I was depending on the outdoor games and toys for my kids… Boogieboard was broken in half, cornhole was missing the beanbags, badminton was missing the birdies, a couple beach chairs looked in very fair condition, also the one bike was extremely rusted. Overall it was a very nice house. I would stay here again, I would just pack more activities for the children.

Cozy, clean home to relax at the Outer Banks. Well equipped kitchen.

We stayed for almost a week. The house was decorated beautifully and the deck and downstairs area under the house were great! The deck and downstairs were the best parts. I was surprised to find that no linens were provided and even more surprised after a two day drive to find no toilet paper or trash bags in the house. The owner had told me that we needed to provide our own linens, so we were prepared for that. There was no mention of the lack of basic supplies like toilet paper and trash bags in the listing or in any emails prior to our visit. I was disappointed., but had we known, we could have easily brought some. The house could use a good cleaning and some maintenance. I emailed the owner and she stated that the house was not a hotel (about the supplies) and that she would be there soon to work on the maintenance issues (several light bulbs out and a few other things). She also said she would follow up with the cleaning crew. Overall, we had a good stay. The beach access was a relatively quick walk and easy to find. The house was sunny and bright.

We had a great time and we loved the home and neighborhood and the beach access. We want to return for a week next time and have the same home.

Comfy, relaxing, beautiful beach house. Kitchen with everything you need. Short (safe) easy stroll to beach. Big clean public beach. Lovely deck/outdoor space for eating or star gazing. Good proximity to stores & restaurants. Loved our stay here! Nice neighborhood too.

Great property that was well appointed and felt like a true home. The wood burning fireplace was great since we stayed in December. Lots of nice outdoor space too for warm days. Definitely would stay again.

Good communication with owner and place was exactly as listed. Nice deck and kids enjoyed under deck area. Was able to park two SUV’s under home. Really enjoyed dual showers under home. The place is a hike to the beach especially with little kids in tow after a hot day in the sand but location is close to everything else you need. Can walk to a bunch of food places.

We really enjoyed this property! It was the perfect size for our family and was clean and bright. Loved the nautical decor and layout inside. Best part was the deck and outdoor amenities including hammock and swing underneath the home. Would definitely stay here again!

The relaxing, cool atmosphere of the “under the home” area was wonderful. Great place to relax and stay cool, clean up after the beach and hang out! Great location-close to many stores and places to eat or grab take-out. Relatively close to ramps to 4x4 beaches. We rented linen from a local business and it was waiting on us when we arrived. FYI: The home did not have any kitchen towels/drying towels for use, so plan on bringing or renting. Beach access was overcrowded and not very convenient to walk to. Bring all you need as home does not stock little extras. Overall, excellent stay-the relaxing porches and underneath home area makes the home! Great neighborhood!

The property more than met our ecpextations. Very pleased

This was our second time renting this house..unfortunately our Son-in-law and daughter rented first.. we were forced to leave . Hurricane Florence! We were happy with our short two night stay that it was a must to come back.. As we rented a place in 2004 and stayed during hurricane “Alex”, nothing can keep us away.. the outer banks is one of our favorite places to visit away from home.

We loved every aspect of our stay at this beach house. 2nd year in a row. We love the open concept, new deck , under the house play area and outside shower the best :)

Much nicer than the pictures displayed. Would definitely stay here again.

We love this rental home because it is conveniently located, impressively clean, and hidden away in a quiet neighborhood. Can’t wait to go again.
