Couldn’t have been a better location, exceptionally clean, everything we needed (except toilet paper, paper towels, Kleenex…that was odd?) great property for a getaway! Would DEFINITELY stay here again!! THANK YOU!

Right on the water. It was just a few steps from waters edge. The sounds of the waves were a pleasant sound to sit back on the porch and listen to. The weather was great. It was 70 degrees on Christmas day with lots of sunshine. Who could ask for more. The kitchen was well stocked with all the cooking items one would need to cook a great meal and the dishwasher made clean up a breeze. If you like to fish there is a fishing pier just steps away. We look forward to coming back to this place again in the future.

Perfect place for fishing at pier. Was very impressed with how well kitchen was stocked with everything I needed to cook with. Plenty of utensils and pots and pans wasn't all beat up. Will definitely come back. Beds were real comfortable.

Pls know that we loved our vacation at Oak Island. This location is two doors away from a fabulous restaurant that we enjoyed twice during our stay; the first night, and our last night.
The issue that my wife and I have with our stay lies w the fact that there was no sliding screen for the porch door.
Bc of this, we could not enjoy the sea breeze in our apt. That may seem a small thing to you, and we certainly felt that way by the management company when we called to let them know.
Their attitude solely focused on THEIR problem of having the wrong door shipped to them and having to wait until the RIGHT door came in -- while that is completely understandable, their conveyed attitude was nothing short of, "Tough luck, buddy, we've done our best, you just have to accept it."
$1400 total cost for us, reasonable and fair with EVERYTHING working, or at least being treated with respect.
Had I been notified of this issue AHEAD of time, I would've asked to be moved to another location along the beach; even been willing to pay a few more dollars if necessary--
The company could've very easily acknowledged, and VALIDATED our disappointment and offered to compensate us with a $$ reimbursement, or, "Here's a gift certificate at a nice restaurant --like Island Way-- to THANK you for working with us." NOTHING.
So, we're conflicted: We enjoyed our stay; Service left a bad taste in our mouth.

Good trip. House clean. No problems.
We liked the bathrooms, and kitchen counters.
O the only thing the oven breaker keep throwing out and we had to reset it, several times.

We enjoyed our stay and the location was great. The condo was comfortable but is in need of some upgrades. The sliding door is very difficult to open and close. Some issues with electric service causing breakers to trip daily when using kitchen appliances.

Great location and great access to the beach. Very limited privacy once you stepped out of the home onto the porch. Cleaning crew wasn’t the best before our arrival as I immediately had to go through with a vacuum due to all of the sand still everywhere, but otherwise was okay. All was worth it for the location!

Our stay was outstanding. Despite a minor glitch with the stove, the host resolved it swiftly, and to our surprise, even treated us to dinner as an apology. The location is truly picturesque. The rental property boasts new televisions in both the living room and master bedroom, contributing to its overall appeal. Initially, I had some concerns based on previous reviews, particularly regarding the sliding glass door. However, I found it to operate perfectly normally and had no issues with it. Ultimately, the experience exceeded our expectations and we found everything to be flawless. We will likely book this rental again in the future whenever we return to oak island.

The home has a great location. Updating is needed (furniture, paint ceiling vents, sliding doors extremely hard to open, deck needs care) Overall stay was nice location great! Loved Oak Island! Felt a little expensive for home rental w/ what needed updating. Entry door needing screened door. Cannot beat the location!

One house split in two with out any sound barriers, could hear all conversations in the unit next door as though they were sitting in the same room with you. It was a very windy weekend and the sound of the wind between the joining doors to the other unit was very loud and could feel the air coming in from under the door. There was no privacy, felt like we were sharing a house with strangers. The house is old but some upgrades have been done but not nearly enough.

When we arrived at the house (east side), it was blatantly obvious that the house had not been cleaned! I immediately called the owner and he responded within minutes!! He was extremely apologetic, reached out to the rental company himself and got us moved to the west side. Once we were settled into the new side of the house, we had a great time. The area was wonderful and, above all, very relaxing. Have a feeling we'll be going back to Oak Island in the future.
In no way, shape or form do I even remotely blame the owner of the property for the condition of the house when we arrived. As soon as he was made aware of the situation, he made it right.

Check in was easy as can be. Stopped by the office and picked up our keys. The house was clean and updated just like the description said. For an old beach house that has been converted into a duplex it was good for the weekend. If you had a larger group that rented both sides it would be ideal. Location is great, close to the Pier, park, restaurants and stores.

This house has great views from the deck, easy access to the beach and comfortable beds. The only draw backs are the house is on the older side (although most of it has been renovated) and check-in required going to a physical office and keeping up with a key all week. Contactless check-in and keyless entry would be nice upgrades. We would stay here again based on that.

Overall, our stay was great. Absolutely loved waking up, grabbing a cup of coffee and heading to sit on the deck listening to the oceans waves and the boundaries set for them. We will definitely try and stay with you again. Thank you, the Lance Family

The views were everything we had hoped for. However, there was a pile of sand on the floor, bugs in the bathroom, the sliding glass door did not have a lock on it and we had to use a broom handle to secure it. There was no screen on it so we could not enjoy the ocean breeze without the bugs coming in. The hall bathroom is in desperate need of a new shower. The linens were included in the rental, however, we had to make our own beds. The last thing I wanted to do after a long day traveling was make the beds. We also had to strip the beds when we checked out. The location and views were amazing, so if you can put up with the rest of the bad stuff, this would be a good place to stay.

This is a charming cottage that is perfectly located right on the water. Quiet and restful but also close to restaurants and the pier. A perfect getaway cottage!

The location was great but the pictures do not reveal that the house is not totally remodeled. While I was thankful for a roof over our head it was not what we thought it to be from the pictures. I would recommend more (a lot more) updates be done to house.

This sweet home has quickly become a favorite annual getaway spot for me with its excellent location, outdoor rinse-off amenities, comfortable furniture and great management. I already look forward to coming back.

My adult daughter and I spent the first week in May here. The view, the sounds of the waves, the warm breezes. Much needed rest & relaxing. We went to turtle release our last day there!

Relaxing Vacation!
The house was exactly as described and well cleaned! We enjoyed the convenience of being right on the beach and walking to the restaurants close by at night. Will stay again!

I told them the light at the top of the stairs was out, so we came up the stairs in the dark after pier fishing each evening. I told them in the message that the sliding glass door doesn’t lock. Good thing I figured that out on my own. And the trash cans in the driveway were already overflowing when we arrived. The light and non locking sliding door could be dangerous. But like I said, great location.

We loved the property. My two preteens, husband and myself had a great time relaxing. It was so convenient to be directly on the beach and close to the pier. I wished there were a few more simple items in the unit (such as toilet paper, papertowels, dishcloths/towels). There were lots of chairs, umbrellas, fishing poles etc… in the downstairs shed area… so no need to bring all of these things from home. We luckily had great neighbors, but if they were loud we would’ve definitely been able to hear everything. I would definitely go back.

Great week!
Loved the location and the facility. Some ants showed up in the bathroom, but property manager was quick to address and very pleasant to deal with. Maybe time to replace the couch on the east wall? But overall a GREAT week!
