Older property. Clean well maintained. Beach is there, but have to go left or right to enjoy. Good food nearby. Would stay again. Felt homey

This was our fourth visit to this complex. This unit is by far our favorite unit! It had everything we needed to make meals and enjoy the beach.

This was our first time to Maui with our family of 5 (3 teens). The location was nice, not too far from anywhere we wanted to go. Short drive to Black Rock and other great beaches. There isn’t great beach access for swimming, etc at the condo but only a few steps to sit by the ocean and have coffee in the morning. The condo itself was pretty nice and updated. It is in an older building so you could definitely hear every footstep from the people above us. Luckily for us the upstairs was vacant most of our stay. Overall it was a nice place for a reasonable price. Not luxury but well maintained and a good location.

It was close to everything we wanted to do. The place was clean and well laid out. The A/C kept us comfortable. The best part I am not sure can be replicated. We would walk to the end of the property to watch the sunset. Several other couples staying there would meet and talk about what they did that day. It was very enjoyable.

Propert was well described. Communications were clear and timely. No issues at all. Walking distance to many food, beach, grocery, shopping options.

Good Location, price point was good,clean and well stocked

My family and I had a great time in Maui. The VRBO was great and the location was incredible. The only thing that would have made it fantastic is some basic repairs and updates to things around the house. The A/C's were fantastic. We did have to go talk to the neighbors above us because the floors are paper thin and they had two rambunctious toddlers that ran and jumped on the floor from 6AM to 10PM...every day...all day. Overall, a great experience.

This property was perfect for our vacation. Great location and easy access to it. Property was nice and quiet as well. Clean and comfortable. I would stay again!

We enjoyed our stay! Beautiful grounds

We loved staying in this condo! The ocean and pool are both only a few feet away from the back door. Great neighborhood with restaurants and stores close by. We saw whales every morning from the condo overlook. The only concern was that we could hear the people above us everytime they walked. Other than that, the condo was perfect and we would stay here again.

We had a wonderful time in this condo! When we arrived Daniel (the on-site contact) was busting his you-know-what cleaning the condo for us. We did have to wait a bit past our check-in time, but after seeing how thorough of a cleaning job he did, it was well worth it. The condo was stocked with ample dish/serve/cookware and beach + pool supplies. My 'complaint' as others have referenced was the potential noise from upstairs. With a 7-month-old and two+ year old napping, we're hyper-sensitive on sound and are happy to say noise from upstairs didn't appear to wake up either baby! It seems like the guests upstairs were quiet, but you can hear every footstep rattling from below. I could see how rambunctious kids/group could be troublesome but we felt fortunate with whoever was staying up there. The other complaint would be the pack-n-play in the condo -- it was great to have one but the mattress pad itself felt broken in several areas. I would recommend a replacement p-n-p. The location is phenomenal. It was the most reasonably priced 2-br in the area, and a short drive into Lahina and our new fave - BABY BEACH! We're frequent Maui travelers, usually in Wailea-Makena and this was our first experience staying in the West. We would LOVE to come back and stay a few days again and would rebook this in a heartbeat! Thank you!

I stayed at this property for one month and found it to be quite nice. I have stayed on the island before at a large resort and it was too busy. A few things I loved about this place. 1. Parking is right at your doorstep! It’s reserved so no searching for a spot. 2. Everything is close to the unit, the pool, the laundry, the water! Every evening was great for sunsets and whale watching! 3. The kitchen was great, I added a few things to make it more usable for me being there for a month. Very well equipped. 4. Lots of towels and beach towels 5. Great stuff to do close by! The negatives are minor- yes there is a condo above and can be a bit noisy but I didn’t mind it too much as I was out enjoying the island! The couch was ok but not comfortable for long movies. The deck box needs to be cleaned out and freshened up. Overall I would say it was a great place to stay! Thanks

We are preparing for our very last night in your property and wanted to extend our greatest appreciation for the opportunity to stay in this condo. The quality of the home, all of the amenities in such pristine condition, along with comfortable beds and bedding. It has been such a marvellous stay, the location, beach nearby and all of the necessary items to make an amazing stay. We are so sad to be leaving this little piece of heaven and thank you both for keeping this spot in such beautiful shape. It was a privilege to be here and can’t wait to come back and hope you will have us back

We ran into a couple issues but they were taken care quickly and the property manager was very pleasant and responsive. We have a great weekend.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here in West Maui for 11 nights mid Jan 23’. The unit is clean and well stocked so made cooking a breeze. Was hot all week so the pool, which was clean and tidy came in handy in the late afternoon after excursions. Great spot as a home base to get to nearby surf spots and other beaches.

We really enjoyed our stay except for the constant noise from the tenants upstairs. We could hear every footstep. We would not stay there again.

Good location for easy access to the West Maui area. Good food options within east walking distance and short walk to beaches suitable for relaxing without the crowds of being directly on a resort. Only negative was an extremely noisy upstairs group above this ground floor unit. Nothing against the owners we just got unlucky. We used the pool and laundry facilities were both clean and very convenient.

Pictures in the listing don’t do the place justice. Very spacious. Really convenient to be able to open the patio doors and let the kids run out onto the grass. Easy, clear checkin and check out instructions. Don’t miss the cinnamon buns at Papi’s Ohana!

First I will review the condo itself. Kristina's condo was very nice, clean and well stocked, it had everything we needed during our stay, and the few things we needed changed were remedied quickly. Having two bathrooms was great, both had very nice showers with great water pressure. There was an abundance of sheets and towels which was so appreciated especially travelling with a four year old. The air conditioning worked great in both bedrooms and also the living room, though we found we didn't need it in the living room as it actually stayed quite cool, even during the hottest part of the day. The kitchen is lovely, lots of counter space and nice and big. Kristina and her on site contact Dan were very responsive, always so helpful and a delight to deal with, we really appreciated them. If I could suggest two small things: first, the addition of a regular height dining table, we did eat a few meals outside but it was always dark by the time we sat down for dinner so having a dining table inside would be great. Second, it might be time to replace the twin mattresses, they are feeling a bit springy but they were sufficient and our sleeps weren't bad by any means. Second the complex itself: Maui Sands, as the description states, is an older and smaller complex in Kaanapali. Not having a million people in your face all the time was great, and we never had to fight for a barbeque. We also enjoyed walking to the ocean in the morning to check out the tides or waves and if it had been a different time of year there is probably a cute little beach, but the swells were high during our stay so we just enjoyed looking at the water from the steos. That said, the grounds could use some updating. The pool area was the biggest disappointment, it doesn't have a shallower area for small children so it's not as useable as it could be, the pool deck is very worn and rough on the feet, and the pool furniture is very old and should be replaced. We were hoping to use the pool on days when the weather wasn't cooperating or we didn't feel like going to the beach, but sadly we only used it one time and weren't interested in returning. Overall the condo was lovely, the complex was sufficient but should be renovated/upgraded soon, and the contacts Kristina and Dan are delightful, I would recommend this unit to others traveling to the area.

Great location away from Lahaina but close to the wonderful beaches on the northwest side. Minutes from shopping, snorkeling, restaurants, and a half block walk to the abc store and bad ass coffee. Our unit was well equipped with towels, dishes, snorkel/swim gear, boogie boards, and kids toys. The unit was clean and comfy with larger bedrooms than some other condos. The grounds are peaceful and beautiful, with several chairs to enjoy the ocean. Pool was warm and inviting. Free ice and cheap laundry too. The "beach" wasn't too much of a beach, except at low tide. But the dual reefs make it excellent for a walk in shallow water or snorkeling all day. My one true complaint - The parking here is awful if you have more than one car. There is one visitor space and you aren't allowed to park overnight. Other than a few minor updates that the place could use, this place met our needs and then some. Kristina and Dan were both quick to respond with every question and easy to get a hold of. Thanks for a wonderful week in Hawaii!

We had stayed at the same condo last year it was like an old 70s place it was okay but this one was so updated and cozy we loved it can’t wait to go back thanks for sharing your new up graded condo and great location to everything thanks

We enjoyed our stay very much. We did run across a couple issues. The oven temperature wound not rise above 170 and was not cleaned. There’s a sign by the door to remove shoes but we had to wear them because the floor was very dirty. The cooler was missing out of the bin from outside.

The condo was more than we could have asked for and was in a great location to everything we did while staying in Maui. The grounds were beautiful. We even had a special place we would sit every night, we called it our spot. For some awesome sunset photos there. We will definitely stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay in this clean and beautiful condo. It is very well located and to watch the sunset every evening was fantastic. We enjoyed the swimming and snorkeling and all people were so friendly . It is absolutely perfect for a stay on this beautiful island. We loved Maui and will surely come back.

Nice size for family of 4. We came to the island to relax and play in the beach. This unit was not directly on the ocean but the beach is just a short walk from your lanai.

Although the place was somewhat clean, we ran into several issues that forced us to find another place to stay on the island during our vacation. The air conditioning did not work properly, none of the fans worked, and communication with the owner/property manager was sparse. The walls of this first floor unit are so thin that every step in the unit above s sounds like a huge thump, and unfortunately for us was all hours of the day/night. Small details like remote control not working, food left in the fridge, and several kitchen outlets not working left more to be desired. We would not recommend.

Property was just as described. My family and I enjoyed our first time in Maui and when we return we will definitely try and stay here again. The property had everything we needed. This rental was perfect for our needs. We love the two full bathrooms, the lanai right outside and the beach just steps away.
