The owners had wonderful communication throughout our stay. I do need to piggy-back onto a previous comment about the owners controlling the thermostat-this is FALSE! They actually were very accommodating & assisted me to get the thermostat set to manual setting for me to have total control of the house temp. There were ZERO cobwebs & the house was immaculate upon arriving. The contract the owners send prior to your arrival is very similar to past contracts I had signed from other VRBO rentals -if I owned this beautiful lake house & I rented it out I would definitely have a contract in place. I did NOT feel as we were walking around on eggshells during our stay-it was very relaxing & the house rules were basic common sense rules. There is a local grocery store just a 10 minute drive from the lake house that had everything we needed for our stay. The owners send a very detailed informative email prior to your stay within details on what is provided & what is not. This was very helpful to pack for the trip. If we come back to fish on Big Stone Lake -we would definitely rent this lake house again. This house & owners deserve 5 stars! Thank you for an amazing stay.

We LOVED our stay at this stunning cabin! The place is beautiful and we cooked/grilled every day. Kitchen is well equipped and ready for gourmet meals. Fantastic lot, very peaceful setting. Great instructions from the owners. Beds and bedding were exceptional! Already booked a return trip for next Summer.

Our stay was amazing, weather was great, the cabin was clean and very nice. It was furnished with everything we needed. Adults and children of all ages had a wonderful time.

This house was fabulous with much care given to comfort and detail. Probably the only place we’ve stayed that wasn’t lacking dishes, silverware or cooking implements of any kind. The setting on the lake was beautiful. Having the dock and kayaks was so much fun. Tanya was easy to work with and very responsive. We would choose to stay here again.

It was a great place to make memories with our family for our summer vacation. My husband and I brought our 3 kids, my parents, my mother in law and brother in law. It was very spacious and accommodated 9 people very well. Very kid friendly, which worked out great for our 2-10 year old children. Great location, would stay again!

Great location right on the water with its own dock. Close to the boat ramp as well. Tons of room and a great time and property.

The place was great for our family. The little kids loved the beach and the pool (as my granddaughter called the lake). We had beautiful weather, so we were able to be outside a lot of the time. The cabin looked just like the pictures, so we were pleased with that. Pleanty of room for all of us!!

We stayed here as a group of six adult women as a mother/daughter girls weekend and this cabin was perfect for us. Wonderful, open gathering spaces with comfy seating and beds everywhere you look. If you're looking for a cozy, updated getaway this is the place to go. Make sure to bring paper towels/napkins, bottled water, and shampoo/conditioner. You'll love it here, the photos don't do it justice!

The house was as listed. It is a beautiful property. However, there were a few things that stuck out that needs to be talked about. First, there are cobwebs everywhere in the house. The host placed a lot of emphasis on the cleaning service, yet there were very obvious cobwebs that have been sitting there for a long time and were in easy to reach places, such as the living room coffee table. Secondly, the upper bunk beds felt unsafe to get into. The ladder is too short. Also, it sits right between the two beds, which makes it even harder to use. Plus, your head is very close to the ceiling fan, which must be on to keep the room cool. It is a disaster waiting to happen. There was only adults on this trip and we did not use the upper bunk beds due to the fact that we felt it unsafe. I would not want my kids crawling up there. Lastly, there were a lot of rules and regulations. Throughout the weekend at the house, we felt as though we were walking on eggshells. Worried we were going to make one wrong step. As the one who booked the VRBO, I wanted to come and relax. However, I felt stressed the entire time due to all the rules. Some of these rules included where to set the thermostat and, if the host didn’t like the temperature, they would change it. There is such a thing as too much control. Also note that even though you pay them on VRBO, thereby agreeing to their policies, they still make you sign a 4 page contract. That they will send you over email. Overall, the house is beautiful and being on the lake was nice. However, the functionality of the upper bunk beds limited sleeping space and all the rules made it a stressful weekend.

We had the BEST time! The property was beautiful, neighbors were great and the little town was better than expected! We hope to book again!

This is a lovely cabin that accommodated our family of 9 perfectly. The grandkids loved the sandy beach and we had a great time fishing and cruising on the lake with our rented pontoon.

Most everything you would need was already there and if it wasn't (like beach towels), Tanya let us know ahead of time. We were surprised at how big the cottage felt and how we could all be around one another in each room, and not feel cramped. The kids loved hanging out upstairs, playing in the sand, roasting s'mores around the fire pit and fishing off the dock. We also spent a lot of time relaxing/playing games in the family room and eating around the big kitchen island. Our first night there, there was a slow drain in the main tub but Tanya was very responsive and the neighbor that helps manage the property (Kim, she is so lovely!) was over the very next morning to take care of it. Only downside was that the lake, though beautiful, quiet and just steps away from the cottage; was green and murky. Because of that, we did not get to do any swimming. There was also a lot of seaweed that would wash ashore, though Kim was there a couple times a day cleaning it up for us, so that part didn't bother us at all. Overall, it is a really lovely place to stay and if you're not set on swimming, we would absolutely recommend it!!

We had a great time staying at the cottage! It is clean and well maintained. Good communication with the hosts, they are easy to get a hold of and the property manager is so friendly!

The Meadowbrook cottage was very clean, spacious, and decorated tastefully. The grounds were manicured nicely. Our grandchildren LOVED the sandy beach! We would definitely stay again!

Very nicely re-modeled lake house which is well off the beaten path (don't book here if you need restaurants, bars, or an interstate). This setting fit my family perfectly and we enjoyed playing in the lake, taking the kayaks out, etc.

Very nice redo. It was a nice place to stay. We were gone alot due to the circumstances of my Dad's memorial service. We would love to spend more time at the cottage.
