Great spot on Guadalupe with personable owner who went above & beyond, repairing our inner tube, guiding us on floating, setting up the fire-it and equipping us with scores supplies. Our stay was enhanced by lovely bouquet of flowers in the house prepared by his wife. Highly recommended!

This was our 2nd time at this property. The southwest cabin was beautiful! Fresh flowers from Laura & Carlton were precious! Excellent location on the river. Water temperature was perfect. Privacy from other guests was great. Seen on the property a fox, ground squirrels, bumblebees, geese, all kinds of exciting critters! The water pressure from the shower head wasn't the best but all the positives outweigh the 1 negative. We will definitely be back! Love love love this location & the hosts!

We had a wonderful experience staying at the river road retreat. The property was amazing with lush greenery and a view of the river that was hard to step away from. Be prepared to see deer, white geese, a pair of Egyptian ducks, Hootie the owl, and black squirrels. The home that we stayed in was perfectly stocked with soaps, towels, kitchen utensils, soft sheets, coffee, water, trash bags, paper towels, toilet paper (Charmin) and all the makings for s'mores. Our river needs were met with a wagon to take down all of our items, an air compressor for our tubes, and extra tubes had we need them. Laura and Carlton were the perfect hosts who went out of their way to make sure that we had everything that we needed to have a wonderful stay. We will definitely be returning soon!

House was clean and ready with everything we needed for a great get away. Host even provided tubes and started a fire for Smores. Could not have ask for anything else.

Carlton is amazing & always treats us so well! The cabin has everything we always need & he even let us use extra tubes & blew them up for us for our river float! We will be back every year! Cabin was extremely clean & comfortable!

This was our third time staying at this wonderful property, and we can’t wait until we get to come back! Even during this very hot summer, all the wonderful trees and shade help keep the temp down, and then there’s the cool Guadalupe waiting right outside your backyard. Carlton and Laura are the perfect hosts, they are always eager to make your stay comfortable and relaxing. A special place lovingly cared for by special people!

We have stayed here multiple times and each time has been perfect. Great location on the river and perfect setting for however you want to spend your time here. Whether it's riverside or relaxing and cooking on the back patio!

Perfect stay on the Guadalupe River
My wife, daughters, and I stayed here for a few days at the tail end of a great tent camping trip around the Guadalupe Mountains and Big Bend. We planned to end our vacation somewhere close to the river so that we could soak and relax. This place is right on the river, peaceful, and very well shaded. We could walk from the back deck and be in the water in less than a minute. The host was very friendly and accommodating. We highly recommend this place.

This is a fantastic property and location. It is a classic cabin that is super clean and the grounds are beautifully kept. The grounds has easy access to a picturesque private river entry. The owners are amazing and extremely easy to work with and very accommodating. They really know how to make you feel welcome and comfortable. I highly recommend this property and look forward to returning in the future.

This is a fantastic property and location. It is a classic cabin that is super clean and the grounds are beautifully kept. The grounds has easy access to a picturesque private river entry. The owners are amazing and extremely easy to work with and very accommodating. They really know how to make you feel welcome and comfortable. This is a great property in a great location with the best owners!! Carlton and his wife gave us the best hospitality & provided everything we needed and then some. It was nice going out our backdoor and putting our tubes in the water.
When we didn't want to cook we drove15-20 minutes into town where there were great restaurants and entertainment.
If you have to work The cell service is spotty but the house has excellent WiFi so you can work or make phone calls over WiFi without any issues.
We highly recommend this house to anyone looking to stay on the Guadalupe!!

We stayed in a different house this visit and it was equally as exquisite - perfect location and everything was perfect upon arrival. We went down every day to the river, which is extremely easy to access with the beautiful steps.
My daughter left a few little toys behind last year, the owners saved them and wrote a story about her toys journey. That’s just one example of how you’re treated like family.
If you've never been here before, this is the perfect place to stay (this includes all of the beautiful houses on this property) . If you've never experienced the Guadalupe River, get there NOW!

What a wonderful house on a beautiful piece of land on River Road in New Braunfels. My friends and I came to float the Guadalupe and enjoy the Texas Hill Country and we couldn’t have picked a better place to stay. Carlton went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed and was a stellar host. We will be back very soon to enjoy another long weekend in the beautiful Texas Hill Country.

What a wonderful house on a beautiful piece of land on River Road in New Braunfels. My friends and I came to float the Guadalupe and enjoy the Texas Hill Country and we couldn’t have picked a better place to stay. We stayed in a different house this visit and it was equally as exquisite - perfect location and everything was perfect upon arrival. We went down every day to the river, which is extremely easy to access with the beautiful steps.

AMAZING HOSTS……..
This was such an amazing place. The hosts could not have been more attentive. The house had everything we needed PLUS…..they went out of their way to make our stay amazing. I will definitely stay in one of their places again!!!!!

The house is so clean and comfortable. The king size bed was so nice. We love it here and the owners are so nice. The place is very clean and safe. There is a fence around the property. We enjoyed the deck, grill and walking down to float in our tubes right behind the property. We come here every Summer.

Perfect stay
Lovely place, away from the crowd but just on the river. the property owners were great, very welcoming and always making sure we had everything we needed. Our kids loved the place and we had absolutely everything we needed. Plus deers to watch every night and morning.

Fantastic Texas Relaxation!
We absolutely love the property! Carlton and Laura were so nice and welcoming. After being in lock down for so many months this was just the Vacation break we needed and we were able to do it safely with such a large property. We can’t wait to come back next summer, but this time bring some friends to rent one of the other houses!

Excellent Hosts and Location for A Riverfront Getaway
Laura and Carlton were wonderful hosts. Without being intrusive, they were around and available for chit chat, recommendations, and any help that was needed. The big shady back yard on the river with lounge chairs, porch swings and hammocks was cool and relaxing--a great getaway from the city heat. Although there were some rowdy people on the river and a few houses down at times, this property was peaceful and chill. Easy to do social distancing and stay active. They had the fire pit all set for us to make s'mores The tennis court is lovely and has some shade in the mornings. The house is nothing fancy, but perfect for a short stay with the kids. Highly recommended.

Perfect place for a relaxing vacation
I can’t say enough about the hospitality of Carlton and Laura. As advertised this was a calm relaxing experience which is just what we were looking for. The sense of community was a nice touch where multiple cabins could gather around a shared fire pit with the owners and enjoy a cocktail or a s'more. I would highly recommend this and can’t wait to come back.

Great location and awesome owners
Everything about this stay was fantastic. The owners met us at the gated entrance to show us the property. The house was very clean and had some extras we weren't expecting. They built a fire each night and had marshmallows for the kids. I highly recommend this location if you want a multi family vacation where each family has a place on the property to go back to.

Great River retreat!
Man, we all had a great time. The house and property were exactly as advertised. The owners, Laura and Carlton, were great and came by each day to see if we needed anything. The river is just steps away from the back door and the trees provided plenty of shade. It was great sitting on the deck in the morning enjoying the river. Very quiet and not very many other houses nearby. We will definitely be back!

This was our second stay in this home and again, served us well! Another successful trip tubing just outside our back door, visiting Gruene just a couple miles away, and enjoying some time on the big back deck of this home!

Perfect Vacation Spot
We are frequent visitors to the area and we usually just take whatever looks decent and available. But our experience here went way beyond our expectations. Carlton and Laura are the most welcoming hosts we have ever had the priveledge of meeting. Now when we plan a vacation to the Guadalupe it will be when one of the cabins are available vs. what’s available on a certain date. The property is gorgeous and the cabin was very clean and comfortable. We had everything we needed and more.
