Beautiful backyard views with quick access to the GOTL strip. Cottage was quaint and met our needs reconnecting with family.

I recently stayed there with family and the place was great. Great views and access to the strip. Highly recommend staying at this location.

The house was pretty clean but infested with spiders. This was a big concern as at least 3 people are terrified of spiders. The back deck, upper deck and steps were dirty and needed power washed. The overgrowth on and around the back yard needs tended to. There is trash laying between the houses that needs removed.

House had everything my family needed and lake views were awesome all day every day!
Extra parking was a bonus as well as the large kitchen, big showers on both floors and the location is really perfect for many reasons. We have avoided renting on the strip in the past but you don't even realize the crowds and traffic when at this rental.
There aren't too many large homes on the lake that allow even small dogs like ours. Plus the house is super open but charming and spacious. The property has so much character, one of a kind.
One slight concern... I didn't see a way to lock the sliding door to the patio? Maybe I didn't look close enough so if I'm wrong I apologize. I really only checked one night so bviously not an issue since I even forgot to ask my family members about the door lock lol. It was just something I noticed but like I said there could be a lock and I just didn't see it. But this was not a problem for us!
We spent most of our time on the deck and patio area and all felt very safe and super private.
The owner was very accommodating... all the way from booking to checkout. Without hesitation we would definitely stay again!

First of all, GOTL is an old, lake cottage area - so the review is based on the fact that this owner charged a fee that is more commensurate with higher end lake properties, not ones like this. It was overpriced for what we got. Old, shabby, really not the cleanest property. These property owners all have cameras outside their property and the one across the way points into the downstairs bathroom. Buyer beware.

Nice location easy access to the strip everything is in walking distance. We had 8 adults and a 17 year old plenty of room for everyone.

Beautiful view of the lake, homeowner was easy to communicate with. Unfortunately, this house needs a facelift. It looks rundown and could use a lot of work. Rained one night and there was water coming out of the ceiling in multiple places (which they knew about as they had put a piece of plywood up on the ceiling). King bed is actually two twin mattresses so you couldn’t sleep in the middle. Overall, we would not rent this house again.

This house is in a great location. You can walk to everything on the strip. Beautiful lake view from the back yard.

Wonderful Vacation
We had an excellent time here and Terry was a great and responsive host. The decks and access to the water are amazing—we saw bald eagles every day!
The house is a perfect combination of rustic cottage (I’ve been coming to GOTL since the ‘70’s and there are parts of the house that remind of those from the past) and modern convenience—Wi-Fi, washer/dryer, dishwasher, etc. Very comfortable for our group of 7-10 adults to spread out around the property, yet very cozy, too.
We had the best time!

The back yard is quite private with foliage covering between neighbors and stairs leading to the lakeshore. It was a great, relaxing stay.

This home was exactly as pictured. It felt like a cute, older, beach house. Very quaint!

The location of this house couldn't be better! It had plenty of room for our whole family and was cozy on a winter day by the fire.

The owner planned to meet us at the hose to check in instead of just sending a key box code the day of arrival. We arrived after 4 so he left without messaging me. So we sat outside of the house for 25 minutes waiting for a response to messages because we couldn’t get in. Two of the girls arrived before me so they waited longer. Water came down the chimney so the gas fireplace went out and I couldn’t relight it. I did make the owner aware of the issue. The owner was very friendly. He did stop in on day two to see if everything was ok with the rental.

We enjoyed the covered bridges, walking on nearby beaches and in the parks, and the music provided at the wineries for our outside/away times. We now realize that much of the area closes down for the “season” in October. It made it just a little more challenging to find opened restaurants for dinner. It was an adventure!
All in all… we had a terrific “sister time” together. Would we go back another year? You bet! I imagine our mother was smiling as we full-filled her wish once more! Thanks for providing a place for us to reconnect.

The lake house was cozy and comfortable, and the view over the water was sublime. Walking distance to everything and large enough for a group of 7 to easily relax. Would definitely recommend!
