Everything. A haven of tranquillity, with every comfort provided, plus a superb garden and swimming pool. Breakfast was delightful as well.

A Perfect Retreat Everybody has got a different idea about what a perfect holiday is. For us, La Villa Saint André is a perfect place for holidays. I and my partner went there in July 2020. The villa is large and spacious, and our room had a lovely bathroom with a bidet! There is a decking terrace where we had breakfast every day looking at the beautiful garden in front of us. Eric and Sabine are ideal hosts: genuinely kind, considerate and helpful. Eric prepared a lovely French breakfast in the morning: croissants, pain au chocolate, home-made jam, fruit, yoghurt and coffee. There is a lovely swimming pool in the huge surrounding garden, perfect for an afternoon dip; large enough to have some swim but if you want to go for a real swim, the beach is a 10-minute drive away. You definitely need a car, as the villa is situated a little bit away from Argeles-Sur-Mer itself, which was perfect for us because we like peace and quiet. The area itself offers everything: there is the sea, of course, with some more social beaches and some more quieter ones. There is a market in Argeles, but we preferred to go on a Sunday to Collioure, which is not only lovely but has a bit more of a local flavour. There are mountains where you can do lovely hiking, and you can tailor the length of the walk to your skills. Sabine offered perfect advice on what to do and where to go. For example, she offered advice on a Michelin restaurant, which was very good and not overly expensive. Last but not least, if you are happy to drive a bit further (around 20 minutes), you can go to explore the area with a lovely monastery above Collioure to one side (and Barcelona which is really easy to get to) and Carcassonne on the other (we did a lovely day there). In a word quintessential holiday experience! We can’t recommend it enough and we will be back. Joanna and Karol
