Everything was perfect! A great home away from home. We didn’t want to leave. Our BEST rental in OBX. Don’t look elsewhere. From the comfort of the beds, to the spacious kitchen and main floor and bonus areas galore!

We had an incredible stay at the Coastal Cottage! The semi ocean front home was perfect, with amazing views of the ocean everyday. We enjoyed sunrises and long walks on the beach which was minutes away. With 3 master suites our family enjoyed lots of space and amenities. The kitchen was well stocked, and the many rooms allowed us all to enjoy privacy too. The fire table was a huge hit in the evenings. The hosts were so responsive to our every need and made accommodations for an early check in after a 6 hour drive, which was so was perfect. We highly recommend this beach house in Duck! Caroll, Paul, Bingley and Nigel.

Enjoyed our stay

This was probably one of the best vacations that our family has taken in a while. The house was absolutely beautiful in so many ways. It was spacious enough for our family and for our kids to each bring a friend. We had more than enough space. Our dog loved it too! We loved every room in the house. The hot tub was great and we used it daily. We did go to the pool a few times and it was very nice. Our favorite thing to do was just to go to the beach, which was right across the street, almost everyday! We went out to dinner two nights, had a few barbecues at the house and even ordered takeout from Duck pizza - which I highly recommend. Our favorite breakfast spot was Coastal Cravings. We went to happy hour at Blue point, Aqua and Coastal cravings which all had live entertainment and great food. Shopping was great in Duck too! Loved the Duck boardwalk area. We will definitely be back!! The hosts were great and we had great communication with them. This made us really feel at home. This was our first time in OBX with the family and won’t be our last!

This is a large, clean, beautiful beach home with everything anyone could need or want: fire pit, bikes with helmets, close proximity to the beach, hammock, quiet neighborhood...Our family has stayed in many beach houses over the years and this was our favorite. Mitch and Nancy were very kind and answered our questions promptly. Highly recommend!!

Great property, great location, accurate listing. You will not be disappointed !

We visited with 7 family members for Thanksgiving and could have comfortably fit a few more folks in the house without feeling crowded. The house was well-located across the street from beach access, and the hosts were incredibly communicative and gracious. We expect a few hitches when staying off-season, but all our requests were handled quickly and efficiently. The beds were comfortable and the firepit was a favorite family hangout to have a drink, listen to the surf, and look at the stars; both Duck and Corolla are a bike ride away, and the walking trails of Sanderling made for great family exercise. We didn't take advantage of the game area on the screened in porch, but it looks like this house would be ideal in the summer with plenty of room for family to hang out on multiple levels having fun. We don't have small children anymore, but the house had lots of good child safety features, and with the proximity to the beach, quiet roads and trails, and community amenities, this would be a great location to go with small children. Overall, a wonderful, relaxing stay in a well-maintained home with great hosts!

This is our second time returning to formerly Heavens' Scenes and couldn't be more pleased. The home is perfectly situated for easy beach access as well as to the Duck Boardwalk. This property includes all amenities to have an awesome beach vacation, we will be returning in the future!

We very much enjoyed our stay. The home amenities were great and close proximity to the beach a real treat. The house was clean and in fine condition although the windows could use a good washing. Loved the game room, fire pit, multiple outdoor decks, and the 220 volt line in the garage for EV charging. Having the opportunity to bring our four legged family member a real bonus. Overall highly recommend!

We enjoyed our stay tremendously The week went so fast we did not have time to enjoy all the toys offered on the property ( biking, ping pong etc) With 4 grandchildren the sleeping arrangements were great and the house was big enough so they could play. We especially liked the hot tube and the outdoor fire pit for relaxing and talking The owner (Mitch) was responsive to questions as this was our first time to the outer banks We loved the wild horses, hang gliding , outdoor play and the town of Duck We would go back as the house was great and so close to the beach. I would recommend this property for large families or friends

Located on a quiet street with beach access 20 yards away. Couldn’t ask for anything better.

We enjoyed our stay in your five bedroom house. We had several families that came down during the week and stayed 1 to 2 nights. The interior of the house was very well cleaned however the exterior of the home needed some tender loving care. There were many cobwebs on the railings and the furniture could used a power spray. We really enjoyed the fire pit in the evenings under the stars. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed from dishes to dinnerware to pots and pans. However there was no place for us to store our food. And before our vacation even began the air conditioner on the third floor was non-functioning. We did agree to come on our vacation with the owners supplying alternative floor air conditioners. We had one in the master bedroom and one in the main floor area. By the middle of the week we had to get a third air conditioner for the main floor area. It did make a difference and made our trip much more bearable I will say that the owners were very open with their communications and did everything to make our accommodations comfortable.

Everything about our trip was perfection! Few crowds, fantastic weather and water and the house was everything we wanted: plenty of space, large bedrooms, a great game room and enough beach chairs for all! Lots of outdoor seating to sit any time of day or night listening to the waves and birds~ and for the early risers to watch the sunrise. The house is a short drive, or easy bike ride, into Duck and just a few steps to the beach! We will definitely bookmark this listing for our next visit!

We stayed for seven nights and eight days Thanksgiving week and had the best time! The location of the house could not be beat… A few steps to the ocean! The house was absolutely gorgeous! Three master suites and two other bedrooms enough for multiple families! Each bedroom had a large TV which made it extra convenient. There were so many places to enjoy in the home including the family room kitchen area, the hot tub area which my grown children absolutely used on a nightly basis. There was a gas fire pit right outside the kitchen and family room to enjoy the sunset and evenings. More than that the cabinets were filled to the brim with dishes and cups and glasses and silverware and pots and pans to do lots of cooking. These great host left us bicycles to use to bike into town, fishing rod so my sons could fish at the beach, and a kite for me so I could run up and down the beach! It looked like they had boogie boards and beach chairs so if we come back in the summer we would definitely be all set. I highly highly recommend this home for either young children or older children or all adults as it really suits everyone. Great location minutes to restaurants and shopping. A great stay all year round!

Great location, very close to beach. Fully stocked kitchen and shed was filled with umbrellas and beach chairs. House needed a deep cleaning, lots of cobwebs and dust.

The house was nice and big, perfect configuration for our family traveling with 7 adults and one baby. The beds felt clean and comfortable and the three primary bedrooms were extremely convenient. Proximity to the beach was excellent—really can’t be beat for a house that isn’t ocean front. There are a few steps up over the dune but we were able to get our beach wagon over them fairly easily. The neighborhood was quiet and we enjoyed evening walks through the neighborhood streets and trails. The furniture in the loft space was nice and new and the dining table easily accommodated all of us (plus room for a puzzle at one end!). We did not use any of the beach equipment but appreciated that it was there if needed. The screened in porch was a nice dinner location and allowed us to enjoy the breeze without dealing with the bugs. The house is definitely a pet friendly home and there was evidence of that in the form of dog hair, especially on the main level. We have pets who we left at home so we’re used to some dog hair, and we did continue to vacuum it up during the remainder of the trip. The main living area was spacious with excellent views of the ocean. The vaulted ceilings must be challenging for the cleaning crew to reach as they were covered in spiderwebs and little dead flies caught in them in a few spots. This was not a big enough issue for us to call to correct. The house has a video doorbell and while I certainly see how that could be useful, it felt kind of creepy/invasive knowing a stranger could be monitoring our coming and going from the house. There were a few maintenance issues that we chose not to bring up to the owner when we arrived because we did not want anyone coming to repair things in the home during our vacation, especially with an elderly great grandmother and toddler in the house. Unfortunately that was a mistake, as the owner asked about one of those items at checkout, did not respond to my response, and then filed a claim with the insurance protection I purchased instead of paying a security deposit. I highly recommend buying that protection instead of putting down a security deposit as it was well worth the small fee. While we won’t have to cover the cost, I was frustrated by the allegations and disappointed in that communication as our family prides ourselves in taking good care of the rental homes we stay in. It sadly left a sour taste in my mouth after the end of what was otherwise a happy trip.

We had a wonderful first trip to the house and area. The house was very well equipped across the board (kitchen, beach supplies, etc.) with wonderful views of the ocean and sunrise from the top level. Easy to sit on the wraparound deck and listen to the waves crashing in the evening. Our group of seven was extremely comfortable and we didn’t even use all of the bedrooms. Highly recommended for extended families / groups. The beach was directly across the street with a well-maintained walkway over the dunes (2-minute walk, even with little kids). The beach itself is wide and people spread out, giving you lots of room for groups, tents, etc. The house is a classic outer banks home with most bedrooms on the lower floor and an ample great room / kitchen / deck on the top level. It has two very large master suites w/baths plus two bunk rooms (w/third full bath in the hallway) on the second level plus a smaller, third master w/bath on the top floor (off of the great room). All of the masters have access to the decks. Virtually brand new kitchen and washer / dryer make for a very convenient stay. Tons of plates, glasses, mugs etc. plus the open kitchen make it easy for large groups to eat together. The ground-floor entryway also works great with a hose and outdoor shower for all of your post-beach needs. Tons of places to hang wet towels and stash beach toys before coming inside. Location is very convenient to both Duck (5-10 min) and Corolla (15/20 min) and the neighborhood is one of the nicest in the outer banks. Ample parking for three cars to come and go (plus at least one or two more spots if you stack them up). The owner was super responsive and provided immediate answers to all of our settling-in questions. Highly recommended.

We really enjoyed our vacation at heaven scenes. It was exactly what we were looking for and as described. Plenty of room for the 6 adults, 2 children and puppy. Beach access couldn’t be closer and made trips back and forth for lunch and additional beverages nice and easy. We enjoyed the fire pit on the upper deck every night! Had a small hiccup with cleaning when we arrived but was quickly addressed. Definitely a beautiful spot and will be doing it again.

Our family really enjoyed our stay. The location was fantastic and the ease of access to the beach was great. The house was wonderful and perfect for families - we would definitely stay here again in the future. The hosts were welcoming and were very easy to communicate with regarding our stay.

Our family had a wonderful two-week vacation at Heavens Scenes in Duck, NC. Just steps from the beach access, the home was perfectly situated for our family. The beds in the master suits were luxurious and comfortable. The kitchen was well-stocked and had plenty of room to cook and eat. The decks were clean, spacious and very usable. Mitch and Nancy supplied beach chairs, bikes, boogie boards and even beach umbrellas to make our stay more enjoyable and to help us cut down on the amount of "stuff" we needed to bring. We stayed at the home for two weeks. As with any beach home, there were a couple of issues early on but Mitch and Nancy were so responsive and helpful that we didn't miss a beat. They truly were wonderful hosts. Our family would definitely stay here again, and we are strongly considering doing so next Summer.

If you are looking for the perfect place to stay, you have found it at Heavens Scenes. We had 4 adults and 6 teens and from sun up to sun down, even with rain washed days, everything worked out great. The decks have plenty of seating for relaxing, watching the wildlife, eating, or having your morning coffee. Although we didn't use the gaming area much, it was set up with everything one would need; tv, dart board, ping pong, and foosball. The view of the water was spectacular and the walk to the beach was only 2 minutes. Our dogs loved the short walk-oftentimes the walk is long and the pavement is too hot for their paws but the wood boardwalk looks to be new and is safe for their feet. The area is quiet, which we adults loved, but it's also in a location that is a quick bike ride to the pool or into Duck where the shops are located; which the teens loved. If you are looking for the perfect place, look no further. We could not have asked for a better host than Mitch and Nancy. Perfect house, beach, location, and host-who could ask for more than that? We have much more to explore in the area and can't wait to return!
