We absolutely loved the house, with all of the snow it was beautiful. Also the inside of the home was very neat with all of the hidden storage and built ins. Of all the cool things to see in the home my girlfriend loved the toaster and the main fireplace of course. The mantel piece looks like the moon at night that was very cleaver. I would definitely recommend anyone staying here.

We planned a long weekend skiing at Boyne for school break and found Shawn’s property and fell in love with the architecture and location. We were not disappointed- the Earl Young home has been lovingly maintained and had every comfort to make our stay seamless. Morning coffee on the window seat looking out at the Lake and lighthouse was my favorite and each night we all gathered in the great room in front of the fireplace and watched movies together. It was wonderful

This house is the perfect blend of Charlevoix - close to downtown, close to the beach, historical, relaxing and cozy. We come up every year!

We truly enjoyed our stay. It was such a unique home, peaceful, and so convenient to walk into town for shopping and meals! Loved that the beach was so close.

What an amazing property, we really enjoyed learning about the neighborhood homes and Earl Young. This home was perfect for our stay, and we enjoyed the separate sleeping areas and outdoor patio. The beach is right across the street and great Petoskey stone hunting! The hosts have thought of everything, all you need to bring is your overnight bag. Thank you for sharing a piece of Charleviox history and inviting guests to enjoy your beautiful home!

Earl young's home is so warm and comfortable you feel as though your visiting a wonderful place from your past.

Because of 2 golf friends that have summer homes in Charlevoix and hearing all about the beautiful weather they have unlike Texas (ugh, we had to come back and face it) we have wanted to go for a few years. Due to one thing or another (illness and Covid) this WAS the summer we were going to go. The day we arrived it was 86* and people were not happy and said this just never happens. I said what heat?? Being from Texas that's a cold front! Anyway, going forward for the week it just kept getting better and better. The house was Quirky, original and wonderful (fyi, no central air but unit in the master bedroom, electric fans in every room). We never got to enjoy the firepit but enjoyed the fireplace a couple of mornings having our coffee. The owners are super quick to reply with any suggestions or answers to our questions (had a small issue with the cable tv....might have to reset the app). There is a really nice beach with amazing views for sunsets or swimming if it's warm enough within walking distance (very close). We didn't cook at all except we had a couple of quick breakfasts (too much to see and do) but the kitchen is well stocked. Regular coffee maker is in the pantry across from kitchen. Didn't find it until day before we left but they also had a Nespresso. I'm sure there is so much more I'm leaving out and feel bad about that but the four of us had a wonderful stay in this historic home. We feel really lucky to have found it. Oh yeah.....Be sure and wave to all the tourist that come by on the Mushroom House tour!

This was my first experience with Vbro and all went well. The home did not disappoint. I felt Mr. & Mrs. Young's presents in every room. The fireplace was awesome and the views are stupendous. Charlevoix is a charming village with warm and personable residents.

Loved the house and property. It was fun to "step back in time". My only negative was the arrangement of the bedrooms. We had 3 couples and the couple using the master bedroom had to go through another bedroom to get to their bedroom. It was a little uncomfortable at times but for a family it should'nt be a problem. Fabulous atmosphere. A great time was had by all.

Loved this quirky hobbit! Especially the terrace! Had a birthday dinner out there under the stars! Comfy beds! Plenty of towels! Close to town! Wish we had more time. So much to do. Shawn was easy to reach.

Every day we discovered a new curiosity about the home and loved it even more - and, yes, the proximity to both the beach and the ice cream shops in Charlevoix were a huge hit with my young sons.

RELAXED a dream come true - last item on my bucket list

Such a beautiful, unique and historic property. The fact that we could walk across the street every night to the beach to watch the sunset was a cherry on the top. The back deck was private and peaceful. Most comfortable beds that provided such a great night sleep too. Nothing but perfect for our stay!

The house is truly amazing and the neighborhood is so convenient and charming. But the first pist-Covid weekend away with friends was priceless.

Terrific couple of days in an amazing home. Beautiful. And, a few found Petoskey stones.
