This is our second year returning to Even Keel, and we loved it as much as the first. We had easy access to the beach, very comfortable accommodations, and gracious hosts who were ready to answer any questions. We'll be back next year!

We loved our stay at Even Keel. The proximity to everything on the island is fantastic and the short walk to the beach was especially convenient. We are excited to get back to BHI next year and will hope to stay at Even Keel again!

If you are looking for a house to stay at on BHI, take a look at Even Keel!! Everything listed in the posting was at the house. No surprises!! We even asked for a crock pot, and the owner bought one for the house for us!!! This house has everything you need for a fun, relaxing family vacation!! One thing we appreciated is that there are 2 master bedrooms on the main level! This was convenient for our family and any family with elderly parents or disabilities who don't/can't use steps!! The house has a large screened in porch (with an open porch as well) for families to sit and enjoy family time with plenty of seating! It has 2 golf carts (6 person and 4 person) that were in good shape and worked well (except for the Michigan State color and logo - LOL)!!!
The house also has plenty of beach chairs and beach towels for you to use and leave yours at home!!!
Overall, I give this house a 5 star rating and would stay there again!!

We really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful house. Clean and beautifully decorated, nice open floor plan for family gathering, two bedrooms on first floor for older family and a lovely screened porch. The owner was quick to be in touch with us when the island had a water main break, too- great communication!

Even Keel is a great house, in a super location. The South beach is less crowded and more peaceful than the East beach of BHI. The house has great space for families, large bedrooms and a lovely screened in porch for enjoying the ocean breezes. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking, the bikes were a nice plus and the communication with Edie and Katie was superb! They obviously cared about our experience and were very responsive to any questions or needs. Will be happy to return again!

We so enjoyed our stay at this beautiful beach cottage. We were so pleased at the cleanliness of the place and loved the layout. The ocean views were breath taking. It was perfect for our family and well stocked with everything we needed. We have stayed on the island now for over 15 years and this home is by far our favorite to date! The property managers, were so vested in our stay and in close communication with us during the entire trip. Many thanks to Katie & Edie. We will definitely rebook this home for our next trip.

We stayed at Even Keel for my sisters wedding weekend. I asked several questions about the house before our stay and received replies very quickly! We have a 10 month old and the house was equipped with a pack n play and high chair which was very useful! The house was spacious and the views and access to the beach were amazing! Would love to come back again soon!

What an amazing home! We couldn’t have asked for anything more. The bikes were a great surprise, my husband said best he has ever had at a rental. There was plenty of room for 8 of us to spread out and gather on screen porch in the evening. Golf carts were in great condition. Option to join both clubs was a plus and on our last night we got to watch turtles hatch on beach. We can’t wait to return.

Perfect Place on BHI for two families
The property was clean, and conveniently located. The outdoor screened in porch was perfect for morning coffee and PM cocktails. It had great amenities and well maintained cards. The two upper bunk rooms were perfect for our two families of kids (one all boy and one all girl). They each also have a tv and little seating area. The two masters on the first floor were perfect for two sets of parents and loved how all the kids were upstairs. We all wouldn’t hesitate to rent again and friends that came by loved the layout. Private walkway to beach made the beach area in front of the house more quiet.

BHI Vacation
Evenkeel is a beautiful home set just steps away from the ocean. The home is a modern, open concept house with everything you need for a beach vacation. We loved the home and the location. The property managers were incredibly kind, and responded immediately to the one small question that we had. We would definitely recommend staying here!

This is a great house for a family with children.
The kitchen was great to work in and well-equipped. We could gather together for meals at the big table and enjoyed the screened porch at all times of the day. The beds and linens were great. We were on and off the beach all day using the boardwalk and the outdoor shower. The golf carts, beach chairs, beach umbrella, and beach toys were so appreciated. Loved the location.

Nice house but
The house is nice and good location. Beds are good, rooms clean Kitchen was dirty with very dirty floor rug and both refrigerator and stove were in need of cleaning. Dish drain, pots and pans also required cleaning before use

Fantastic Getaway Spot
The pictures don't do this place justice. We stayed at several different properties on bald head going back over 10 years and this has been the one that has fit our needs the most. The property is beautiful, the location is great and all the amenities are top-notch.

We and three other families with two toddlers had a fabulous stay at Even Keel! The kitchen is extremely well-stocked, the beach is just a short jaunt down the wood path, the beach itself is wide and beautiful, and it was sublime. All spaces were well-appointed and very clean and hosts were great. Highly recommend! Only little thing is that the positioning of the house is a little behind another house so the picture is a little misleading. Just means you’re not getting an uninterrupted beach view but not a big deal. Would love to stay there again!

Wonderful long weekend
We booked this house for a last minute long weekend and we absolutely loved it! We were so happy with the location and views. The house is roomy, very well appointed, comfortable, and the kitchen is stocked with everything you need! The property managers were great to work with and provided all the information we needed. We would definitely love to stay here again!

Beautiful ocean front
We enjoyed this gracious home, completely outfitted with every amenity one could want or need. From preparing meals in a well-stocked kitchen, to doing puzzles at the large dining table, to watching the sunset from the screened porch, to exploring the island on one of two golf carts, to relaxing on the beach…Even Keel offered a perfect respite. Our hosts provided all of the information we needed and made it very easy to find our own “even keel.” Thank you!

We booked this house for a quick four day beach getaway for our family. It was absolutely perfect! Everything you could want and more. Very clean and well appointed. Edie and Katie were fantastic to work with. We will be back in the future!

Edie and her team were responsive, helpful and available even though we really did not need them once we arrived. The house was well equipped, carts were great, kitchen was awesome (why not make your own ice cream if they provide a maker!!), grill was in good shape, plenty of beach gear, etc. Whatever you may need for the beach was here.
Rooms were perfect...we did not use all of them with our crew but all were well decorated and roomy even with multiple beds (upstairs).
We have been visiting BHI for 14 years and never stayed at the same place twice...this may be the one!!! We wish the outside shower was heated but quickly forgot about it! We are a sailing family as well and found Even Keel to be on our same course and heading!!! Thank you for a wonderful vacation!!!

We had a great time!! The owners were lovely to deal with and the place was extremely clean as well as very close to the beach! We will definitely keep this place in mind for another stay!

Family Vacation
This property suited our family. We especially enjoyed the porches and nice golf carts. Great kitchen stocked with everything you need to cook a meal. House cleaners were running behind and tried to do a thorough job but did not have enough time. Would recommend this property to others.
