Location. Quaintness and detail of furnishings.
Loved it all.

Great communication from hosts with directions for arrival. Cottage really comfortable and very well set up / equipped for a self catering stay. Good base for exploring and walking in the countryside - close to Newry town for good shopping and supplies. Wonderful scenery in the area. Highly recommended.
Liked everything.

The farmhouse was just fabulous, clean, comfortable and perfect for our stay. I would recommend it everyone and definitely stay again, in fact we already did!!!
Only recommendation is that you drive there through Carlingford, don't follow the map directions over the mountains, small scary roads.
I can't think of a single thing.

The location was beautiful, the views are exceptional. We had the heating on timer and came back to a lovely, warm house each evening. We also lit the stove on a couple of evenings. We had everything we needed, towels, kitchen utensils, enough logs, turf and coal for our stay. The WIFI was brilliant for the kids and their electronics! We visited Carlingford which was only about 10 minutes drive away, Newry about 10 minutes drive. A Spring/summer trip would be fantastic, all there is to offer in Omeath, Carlingford, Newry and access to Northern Ireland via the Ferry and the good roads North. Our visit wasn't for sight seeing but it is a great base for doing so.
We have a daughter with Down Syndrome who has mobility difficulties and we worried about her with the stairs as they are very steep and narrow. She managed by crawling up and going down on her bottom and it was fine but not ideal .

The location is fantastic and warrants it name with all the beautiful scenery. It's so peaceful and tranquil you can forget about the world. The hosts have thought of everything the log burner and mini library etc but also wifi/tv if that's more your thing and they're such lovely people with so much local history knowledge and beautiful hand made quilt in the bedroom made on site by Suzanne. Really looking forward to be able to visit again 🙂
There was nothing we didn't like as such but it's easy to miss the turn off to bring you down to the property but that could just be us 🤣 and a small shelter over the table and chairs at the front would have been perfect in the wet weather, although none of this took anything away from our fantastic stay.

I love this place, it has the most beautiful views from the front of the house and the hosts were wonderfull people. The house had everything you need, towels, kitchen items, cooker fridge and even a washing machine! The bedrooms are large and it has parking! The hosts has also set up a wonderful campfire area, basket ball hoop and access to a little playroom. The fire was amazing, infact we always dreamed of a little country house with fire and this didn't dissappoint.
Shout out to Seamus and Suzanne for being so good as hosts.
Only recommendation I would have is for the shower to be installed to the mains pipe, I don't think it is currently and the pressure is low. Other than this, we had a wonderful stay and would definitely like to come back.

Hosts make you feel so welcome and give freely of their time with great recommendations of places to visit. House with great character, has everything your require and I mean everything, plenty towels, bed linen, kitchen equipment, toiletries and cleaning products. Great location between Newry and Omeath and Carlingford a short distance away with great restaurants. Stunning local views, great walks especially the Carlingford to Omeath greenway, visit to Slieve Gullion Forest park and trail well worth a visit and a great base for travel to explore Belfast 1 hour away. Thanks Suzanne and Seamus for sharing your house with us and making great memories.

Loved how secluded the home was but still close enough to Newry and Carlingford . Very quiet area and our hosts were wonderful . House itself was quaint and pretty . We had our own private entrance and garden area . The bedrooms were well laid out with plenty of storage and extra bedding if needed . The kitchen was clean and had everything needed to cook full meals if needed . Loved the sitting room , considering we were there during some of the hottest weather we have had in Ireland in twenty years it remained cool and fresh throughout our stay . I can only imagine how cosy the house would be in winter with the wood burning stove and oil fired centra heating going . We only lit the fire one evening but that was purely for the look of it 😊There were plenty of games to keep our daughter entertained also .
There was nothing we didn’t like really. The shower was a bit temperamental but manageable. Being from the countryside ourselves it’s to be expected in older houses but certainly did not affect us

Location at the end of a farm track off a minor road going uphill literally right after crossing the border. Great views across the valley. Lovely nicely-furnished cosy old farmhouse. Wonderful friendly owners who were always available helpful and full of interesting information. Good wifi and TV reception. Absolutely ideal for visiting Carlingford and other places on the Cooley Peninsula (e.g. Greenore with its unique Victorian tea rooms built by the LNWR in the 19th century and Finn the amazing dolphin down at the beach), hill and forest walks on Slieve Foy. Also good for trips over over the border to Flagstaff (spectacular 360 degree views), Newry, Armagh and Slieve Gullion (spectacular mountain drive up it) and further afield the Mountains of Mourne. We also drove down to the Boyne battlefield and the amazing stone age buildings at Newgrange. It was great to come back every day to our lovely little farmhouse. The girls loved going up the lane to stroke the horses in the field!
We had no real problems - the stairs were steep but we got up and down no problem.

The farmhouse has real character . It was comfortable, and thoughtfully equipped with everything you need. If you want a flawless clinically clean environment don’t go to Quarvue. If you want a homely, clean, cosy house with a real sense of history and authenticity this is the place for you. The location is superb with panoramic views and the surrounding farmland is rich with bird life. The hosts are very welcoming and they gave up a lot of their time to make our stay very rewarding.
a toilet downstairs would have been handy as the stairs were steep and a little tricky for maturer adults!

Quarvue is an old farm cottage about 150 yards down a track off a minor road, up above the Newry River estuary - the road to Warrenpoint is visible across the river. Quarvue is in the Republic but just about 200 yards south of the border. It's not very large but quite adequate - the very friendly owners Susanne and Seamus have built a more modern section for themselves on at one side. We had an open fire - took me back to my childhood, with paper, kindling, firelighters and wood logs, and turf too. Central heating too, so it was warm and well equipped. A great location. Just 5 miles from Newry, or you can take the hill road to reach the M1 / N1 southwards, or down to Carlingford by the coast road. Having the old cowshed and pig sty labelled in Gaelic was interesting!
Just that the wooden stairs are quite steep and one needs to take care when descending.

Lovely farmhouse. Perfect for exploring all day and relaxing at night.

Lovely cottage surrounded by the countryside. A nice base to explore both Republic of Ireland and Nothern Ireland. Hosts were very welcoming and let our son explore the land. Nice little sand pit and play house for him to play in.

The rustic and homely feel. Fully stocked up on fuel for the fire was a fine touch, dried turf and logs to last a lifetime. Such a cosy place fully kitted out with everything to make it feel like a home. Fantastic scenery and such a peaceful location. The hosts completed our stay, such genuine and lovely people, was a pleasure to meet them. 15 minute spin to Newry which is handy.

We loved our the stay in the traditional Irish farmhouse! Even though we were arriving late - it was no problem for the hosts who even had the fireplace lit for our arrival. The house and grounds have a lot of character, the views are amazing. You can really relax there! We can’t wait to go back

The location and the hosts were superb. Loads of things to do nearby. Handy spin to Newry for greater choice of restaurants and shopping. Views from the house are amazing. Lovely spot and fantastic hosts.

This was a beautiful place to stay, just down the road from magnificent scenery, great trails to hike and town only a short drive away with a bit of a vibe, even now in June! Suzanne and Seamus were really friendly and gave us lots of advice and told us stories about the area. We can't wait to go back soon!

Just returned home from this beautiful traditional farm house. We loved every minute of it despite the terrible weather. The kids had a ball. Loved the farmhouse. Brought me back to my childhood and my grandmothers house. Loved sitting by the turf fire. We will definitely return. Thanks Suzanne and Seamus.

Beautiful location, lovely hosts, the house is very old and has so much history. Close to greenway so its a handy cycle into Newry or Carlingford, hosts where kind enough to lend us bikes too.

We arrived a little later than expected and this was no trouble for Suzanne and Seamus, they were very welcoming hosts.
The house has lots of character and was very well stocked with towels, sheets, tea and coffee. The scenery was spectacular.
Thank you for allowing us to have such a wonderful time. We will definitely be back!
