We were extremely happy with this home. Very clean and well kept. There have been many upgrades to the house so different than pictures show. decks were very nice, loved sitting out watching dolphins many mornings. Everything we needed was there well stocked. proximity to beach couldn't be any better. We will definitely rent this house again.

The house was clean and comfortable! We had no real complaints about anything and did not need to contact anyone for the duration of our stay. The furnishings and carpeting was clean and well maintained. The master bed was REALLY comfy!! Nice hot tub and the easy access to the beach was wonderful. All and all it was a great place to stay and we would stay again! One maintenance issue that should be addressed is the upstairs bathroom door. It doesn't close unless you slam it really hard, and then is very hard to open it again. That should be fixed. We also noticed that the wall that the moose is hanging on is quite bowed so the owners might want to check it out just in case it's structural. Our family (3 kids 2 adults) had a lovely time and the home helped to make it stress free. Thank you!! Definitely recommend this private beach house!

We had a wonderfully relaxing vacation in this dog friendly, beach front, with 2 decks home. The kitchen was well stocked, the bathrooms were updated and there was a lot of room. We enjoyed our stay!

Great home to enjoy the Outer Banks! Dog friendly and was super clean on arrival. An older but well kept home…had everything we needed, and we do mostly cook during our week. Super location with deck to enjoy morning coffee and sun.

So happy to have been in an oceanfront home as we were stuck in the great nor'easter of May 2022! Super place for my husband, myself, and our dog. Very clean on arrival and no problems to report (oh! Other than need a new can opener!) I have a terrible back and appreciated the comfortable bed. We never even used the downstairs so can't remark on it except it does have its own sitting room in addition to the bedrooms. Ice maker in fridge doesn't work but has plenty of ice cube trays. Great location!!!! Booked for next spring.

My family and I stayed at Almost Home May 29-June 5. During that time a window in one of the bedrooms leaked badly. The mattress on one of the twin beds was very wet on one corner and the bedding was soaked as well. Fortunately I had the good sense to use one of the fans in the house to try to dry out the window and wall as well as put containers in the window to catch more water that continued to leak. I also moved the wet twin bed away from the wall and angled it towards the fan. After a long delay, maintenance did come and put plastic over the window and measured the moisture in the bed and room. The mattress was ok but there was dampness still in the wall. We did receive a new mattress cover and sheets. The person that brought the new sheets did not take the wet sheets and suggested I bag them (which I did). No one collected the wet sheets and mattress cover. Another maintenance person came the next day but did not fix the window. When it rained again, water pooled in the bottom of the plastic that was placed over the window. Again, I had the good sense to find a container, drain the water in the plastic and place the container in the window and continue to run the fan. I resealed the plastic. That room was not useable for our vacation!

We left very disappointed after finding out this house won't be rented out any more after this year. We have been coming here for years. Finding a pet friendly house ocean front for 2023 will be a challenge.

Location, location, location!!! Can't get much closer to the beach!! House needs some repairs and updating. The deck is in desperate need of being replaced(dangerous in some spots), and my daughter suggests removing the moose head!! We all enjoyed the beautiful sunrises from the deck and lounging in the hot tub!! You can't beat the view!!
