We had an extendable gate for the top of the stairs which helped contain toddlers. Location was perfect, beach was great, loved you could watch dolphins swim by, kids used the footpath for scooters and trikes. The kayaks and lifejackets were a nice surprise. We especially liked having 2 lounge areas and 2 dining areas (inside and outside on a covered balcony) where everyone could eat together. Unfortunately, the coffee maker’s milk frothier didn’t work. Reviewer Comments: This is a memorable stay with a group of friends wanting to just chill by the beach and play board games. The house is big with plenty of room for 9 adults. Kitchen is well equipped with dinnerware, cutleries and basic amenities and we could cook breakfast and use the BBQ with no problem. Some kitchen appliances including the kitchen exhaust and microwave can be slightly tricky to find the right button but having those options were good. Owner provided some coffee pods and a nespresso machine with milk frother which was good. Bed and linen were good and central air conditioning was a plus. There was also a bottle of wine given when check-in, which was a nice touch. However, there are some basic amenities that could be better - no shampoo or bath gel were provided in the bathroom apart from bar soap and no hair dryer which were not clearly indicated in the description. There was a mention of cleaning 'starter kit' which indicated bin liners, but wish they would have provided more, considering it's a place for a large group as both bins quickly filled up by day 1 after the BBQ. Key lock instructions weren't given on time but the call line was helpful and responded quickly. Would also prefer the instructions such as pre-departure checklist be printed or having a handbook for FAQ to be in a visible place of the property, instead of just email which I didn't check until after check out as holiday makers don't tend to check emails!

The location of this house was just perfect, with a large lawn and garden between the house and the beach. It was the perfect spot for the kids to play and adults to relax. The house was well appointed with plenty of cooking utensils / crockery and the two kitchens were really handy. The rest of the house was fine, it was comfortable but needs some updates. The bathrooms are very tired. There were broken lamps in the bedrooms and a lack of powerpoints. There was not enough toilet paper / washing machine tablets provided to get through a 5 day stay (this is not a cheap house, this should have been included). The house is not safe for toddlers, there is no way to close off the internal stairs, and also a set of stairs heading down from the balcony. The roller blind pulls were not secured to the wall and were loose, which is a hazard for little kids. Overall we enjoyed our stay, however I would stay in a different house in the same location next time. The real trouble started after we had left. While vacuuming the house before leaving, the vacuum broke. We alerted the property manager after checking out. Our significant security deposit was held while they liaised with the owner about the vacuum. Eventually the majority of our deposit was refunded, but they hung on to some until the owner had determined whether the vacuum would be repaired under warranty. The implication of this was that we had somehow misused the vacuum while cleaning the house. Four weeks later the owner finally refunded the remainder of our deposit, as they were able to have the vacuum repaired at no cost. This is not an acceptable way to treat guests, it's been a waste of our time and a stress we did not need returning from holidays. As a result we cannot recommend this house as a place to enjoy a relaxing holiday.

A wonderfully appointed house for our family gathering to celebrate Grandma's 80th - a perfect location on the reserve and directly opposite the beach. We could not have asked for a better house to cater for all the ages!

This property is outstanding. We had an intergenerational family holiday - kids, parents and grandparents and it suited all our needs perfectly. The two levels allowed the families with kids to occupy the downstairs while the other adults had separate bedrooms upstairs. The house is stylish and well furnished and was beautifully presented when we arrived. All beds were very comfortable, both kitchens were well equiped and having a large table and sufficient chairs upstairs meant we could all eat together. The added bonus of the decks with wonderful views over Port Stephens with regular passing dolphins and the safe, clean beach right at our doorstep was terrific. A memorable holiday was had by all and we will hopefully be back in the not too distant future.

Great house and location for an extended family celebration

Fantastic property for a group. This was a great location and a great house for groups! Our family had a lovely stay here and will consider staying here again.

Facilities and location were great - the strict rules and requirements are a bit restrictive. The taking of a large bond out of your account two weeks before the date of accommodation we thought was very unusual. Read conditions carefully before booking.

A wonderful property to enjoy a weekend away with family, the location and views are 5-star. We will be back!

Unfortunately, we could only travel to Australia in your winter/our summer. There was no heat to the lower level for the first 3 nights, and it was very cold. The issue was resolved finally on the 4th night by bringing in heaters for the lower level...only complaint, but it was significant for those of us staying on the lower level:(

Great location and nice neat and tidy house that was well set up for two families. Michelle was very easy to deal with and assisted with some extras we asked for without issue.

Had a great family time. Property is safe and ideal for children. The cleaners do need to put more effort in as there was built-up dirt in the corners and hairs in some of the beds. The only major issue was the aircon and heating. Downstairs was absolutely freezing so we had to bring the kids upstairs on mattresses to sleep in the lounge room. I rang the Property Manager and she said they would send someone to look into the problem on Saturday morning but nobody turned up which was quite annoying. There is also no overall instruction manual for appliances etc which would be helpful. Thanks
