Central location. A clean comfortable accomadation . Beds were so comfy. Lovely terraced garden which was a pleasure to sit out in. Underfloor heating which was an added bonus .The owner kept in touch by text to ensure we were happy with everything which was a very nice gesture. We could not fault the property and will certainly rebook in the future.

About a 2 minute walk to pubs and food. The little courtyard at the back was amazing.

Door heights were very low - notwithstanding warnings banged head several times. Mouldy bread left in bread bin. Toilet had not been flushed. Felt the price was high for the facilities offered. The twin bedded room was really small.

I cannot say enough good things.. it had everything we needed for a weekend away in the Peak District. It was so homely, cosy, so nicely decorated and the beds were beyond comfy! The back yard is a sanctuary. A slice of heaven with the stream and fairy lights. This place will truly hold a special places in our hearts. It has been a home from home. The info booklet is filled with fantastic info about the property and history, something we truly loved!

The owner had prewarned us the scaffolding was still up and offered us a £25 discount which we accepted. This has not yet been refunded despite ringing Sykes. Please refund this immediately. Also a carbon monoxide detector was in the bedroom as the boiler was there. Not a problem but it had a very bright flashing monitor which was very annoying overnight.

Location is perfect. Cottage in ideal location to explore and enjoy Castleton and Peak District

Hats off to the owner to try sort out any shortcomings and rapid response but I would definitely change the cleaning company as the cottage didn’t look prepared for guests. Especially kitchen didn’t look properly cleaned. Lock box looked a bit worn as it took some time to open it. This could be an easy fix for perfect cottage.

The cottage is in an excellent location in the heart of Castleton. It has a lovely courtyard garden with a beautiful stream running through. The cottage is well kept and has everything you need. We were two couples here for a short cycling holiday and this was perfect.

This wasn’t a real issue for us, but just to be aware, as it is an old cottage, the doorways downstairs are quite low. So if you’re tall, there will be a lot of ducking down.

only thing was there was no hairdyrer this was the fist time there has not been one availble where we have stayed. so i did not take one.other than that ..all was excellent .Would recommend and definatley stay again.

Cosy and characterful cottage in the heart of Castleton. Great location for village and numerous walks. Loved the backyard so much that want to come back in Summer to enjoy it more.

Wooden floors upstairs were slippery so bring slippers - also stairs not suitable for people with restricted mobility.

Beautiful cottage set in the perfect position in Castleton. Beautifully decorated for Christmas, with gifts and cards for us on arrival. We couldn't have asked for anything more ❤️

Perfectly positioned, cottage itself was clean and well kept. Good parking.

Maybe another radiator in lounge as it was a bit chilly on an evening,our fault maybe as it has a wood burner but we were not confident enough to light.

Convenient pretty cottage with parking. Well equipped.

Disappointed that things that were meant to be supplied were missing like the fuel for the wood burning stove , dishwasher tabs and recycling bin liner.

Perfect location, amazing cottage! Ample parking. Check-in was a breeze. Great support from Ian (owner). Can't recommend it enough, would definitely come back.

The accomodation was spotless! It really is such a beautiful little cottage and nestled right in the middle of loads of different activities that you can undertake. The interior of the house is so pretty as well, me and my partner found it so amazing and so cosy to just spend time away from it all. The placement of the cottage allows for walks to local stores and sights with ease and is always a short car drive away from other things to keep every type of person amused. The underfloor heating in the bathroom was a nice little surprise too!

Me or my partner could not fault the place. The parking could be a little difficult if there are lots of other people staying in the neighbouring holiday homes. But we didn't really have an issue, and there was always somewhere close to the cottage to park.

The cottage was well presented and very clean, a well styled mix of old and new, nice shower and kitchen, living room was comfortable though sadly we weren't able to use the log burner on our trip : ( and the garden was enchanting. There was a useful welcome pack with a nice message from the host, clear instructions about parking and heating etc, interesting information about the history of the cottage and bonus items such as milk left for us in the fridge, toilet paper and hand soap which often aren't provided in holiday lets. Castleton is a lovely village to stay in with gorgeous walks, great pubs that do good food and nice gift shops. My friends and I were very happy with our stay and would consider staying again.

Only that we were advised that the log burner couldn't be used until October which was a feature we had been looking forward to using.
