The property location to the beach was fabulous, had a wonderful vacation hanging out on the beach. The location to US 23 was underwhelming due to the noise heard as vehicles passed by all night long.

Very nice & relaxing.

We came north for Christmas because my daughter and her whole family live here. When you consider 5 grandchildren ranging in ages from 14 to 27 and 1 wife, 1 fiancée and 1 significant other plus my daughter and son-in-law. That’s a lot in one house!
The Tuesday before we were to come up Friday for Christmas I decided to fall sideways down the basement stairs and break my left hip. I had surgery late Wednesday afternoon. Friday I got out of the hospital and Sunday we went to Staci’s had a nice relaxing dinner time. Went back to the cabin and slept well before breakfast and a present frenzy!
It was a great place, near my daughter but not close for our privacy.

We really enjoyed our stay. It was comfortable and clean. Probably one of the cleanest we’ve ever stayed at, and we’ve stayed at many. The kitchen was outfitted sufficiently although a few more and definitely better pans would have been nice. I might suggest that you get a small folding step stool for the kitchen to lessen the possibility of injury from standing on a chair to reach the top shelf of the cabinet. I would also suggest that the wicker loveseat upstairs faces the window, instead of its back to the window. The view is to die for and it’s a wonderful place to enjoy morning coffee.
We loved all the windows and light. And the sunrises, oh my the sun rises!
We would definitely recommend this stay to others.

This property has 4 properties, and each one has its own character and charm. We stayed at the Captain’s Watch and it’s character was it’s bedroom! You could see the Beach and the Night-sky, and the Sunrise/Sunset right from your bed! The Weather was beautiful and unseasonably warm, the beach was gorgeous and private enough for all to enjoy. We looked forward to the view on the rainy days as well- even saw a rainbow 🌈over Port Huron on our last day! We will definitely be back next year!

We went a couple weeks after the busy season. So while it was cooler, it was also very quiet.
We were in one of the back houses (of 4) and still had a lovely view of the lake from the kitchen and the upper floor bedroom. Perfect for two people. We loved the upstairs bedroom which offered a beautiful view of the sunrise. It would be pretty tight for four adults, but was just fine for the two of us.
There is a fire pit on the beach for each rental, as well as a grill on each small patio. There were also plenty of nice beach chairs at this time of year. The beach is beautiful.
It’s very near the road so expect some road noise as the day begins.
It’s situated in a good location, very close to Oscoda and Harrisville. Many close options for firewood, restaurants, supermarket, gas station, nature areas, etc.
I would only add that if the telescope actually works there should be some instructions on how to use it. Otherwise the room would benefit from the added space if the telescope was removed.
And remove all old instructions from the wall next to the entry door.

My wife and I decided at the last minute to spend our 56th Anniversary near a beach so I found this location and was able to easily book a 2 night stay. I think the cleaning people are a bit over paid because the corners were a bit dirty but overall a pleasant stay. The upstairs bedroom is pretty nice with a full view of the beach. The view downstairs is minimal but we would still recommend this property and will probably do a return visit in the future.

My family and I had a wonderful stay. If your looking for a place right on the beach to enjoy lake Huron, this is the place to book.

This was the perfect location for a mom and two kids to spend the weekend. Right on the beach and within driving distance to attractions and east tawas. It helped that the neighbors were quiet at the other cabins on the property. A few things to know: you have to hook up the propane to use the grill yourself, bring beach towels with you, there is not a clothing line to dry swim wear on. Other than that we had a great time!

Arrived to property 1hr before check in time. Signed in for 1 hr hour early check in. We were denied because they said cleaning person was inside. There was no one inside. Dogs needed to be approved and no large dogs. There was a 120lbs Doberman staying on property and owners not cleaning up after it. Really?
Grounds were not taken care. Inside unit not taken care of either. Glad we only had a 2night stay.

Nice location on the beach with a great view of the lake. Property immediately behind this unit was not rented at the time so it did not feel crowded. The unit was very clean and had great amenities. I struggled a little with the door not completely understanding how it worked at first - written instructions inside the unit would have been helpful. I also wasn’t sure if the lakeshore was open to everyone or just in front of the property. Property managers were very responsive and helpful.

I enjoyed our stay. It is a tiny bungalow connected to a larger home and you share the beach and bonfire. We were excited to use the telescope, but couldn't get it working. Didn't have issues with the bed, but the futon was horrible. Cooked meals on the BBQ that is behind the other property and no view of lake. Overall happy with the trip

Great stay!! Communication was easy. Everything was as stated. We loved walking out the back door and being right on the beach. We'll be back.

Be careful of deceptive listing
While we were only a few steps from the beach on Lake Huron, our host advertised our rental as 'directly on the lake', and there was another cottage between ours & the beach/lake. So if we wanted a view of the water, we had to walk to the beach, instead of having a patio that faced the water. Misleading! Also, the futon in the living room was so old & lumpy that you could feel the coils when you tried to sit on it. For a rate of 2K a week, my wife & I were disappointed. Positives were the bedroom was large with cable TV & a comfortable bed, lots of kitchen utensils, large bathroom, & chaise loungers on a spacious beach.

Great Low-Key Getaway
The cabin was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. Kitchen had all cookware and dishes, bathroom had plenty of towels, there were beach towels. The grill worked great, we had plenty of options for lounging outdoors. All-in-all it was a great time. We would definitely go back. The futon is uncomfortable but the bed in the main bedroom was comfortable.

Heat balance was an issue between the first floor and the second. Nuisance more than a real problem. A former rating stated the bed was uncomfortable. We thought the bed was great

quaint
The beach access is amazing. The 2nd bedroom looks like a very small family room without a door which could be a problem for some guests. It did not affect our visit, we plan on returning.

Getaway
We had a nice stay, the unit we stayed in was clean, had reasonable utensils for cooking. The beach was awesome. A couple of the other units have a better view of the lake but this one was ok.

TERRIBLE BED…beautiful area
Loved everything except the bed…worst sleep I never got. Bed is like 20 years old and has no support. Was lumpy and extremely soft, left suddenly at like 10pm just to get home and have a good nights rest. The shower was a single person stand in shower (not big body friendly), that’s also keep clogging. Besides that the beach was amazing and view. Right off the water (and us 23 so can be noisy with traffic). Great for relaxing getaway, neighbors you barely knew were there. Nice town and parks. I would stay again but in a different unit in hopes to have a better bed and shower. Bedroom was spacious, enough room for blow up mattress. Was a great Vacay spot.
