This was a fantastic experience for our family. We wanted a big enough place for 2 families (6 kids) and grandparents to have a family reunion. This place was perfect for that. Lots of space so we never felt on top of each other. Each room having its own bathroom was also nice. The hosts are fantastic, they helped with with so many things. From where to explore in Normandy, to cooking incredible food for our group and doing a fun treasure hunt for the kids (which was a highlight!) The kids also enjoyed using the bikes around the property. A highlight for the adults was sitting outside in the evenings. Jeannette and Andrew, thank you for an incredible holiday! We hope to be back one day!

My family and I (13 in total including 4 kids), recently stayed at L'Orangerie. The house and grounds are absolutely amazing! The photos do not do it justice. Every single room was spacious, clean and comfortable, the kitchen equipment was vast and there were loads of books, cd's and games to keep everyone amused. The kids did not moan once that they were bored which is extraordinary. They spent hours in the huge garden and loved it. The house is situated in a quiet, peaceful location but there were surprisingly loads for families to do within a short drive and prices were good - much better than in England. However, the icing on the cake was definitely the hosts, Jeanette and Andrew. They cannot do enough for you and were helpful and friendly whilst respecting our privacy. Jeanette cooked for us twice during the week and the food was gorgeous, plentiful and so reasonably priced. The veal was outstanding. Andrew was wonderful with the kids and did a treasure hunt with them as previously mentioned in other reviews. What I didn't expect was the huge treasure trove he gave the kids. They were thrilled. I cannot praise this property or the owners highly enough and would recommend L'Orangerie to anyone. We will DEFINITELY come back at the first opportunity. Thank you Jeanette and Andrew so much.

A Big thank you to Jeanette and Andrew for their help and hospitality before and during our stay. This was one of the best accommodations we have used in the many years we have driven in France. A remote location which gave us ample opportunity to drive many routes to the coast and villages within easy reach but still within 10mile of a large town and supermarket. The accommodation is comfortable, clean and spacious providing ample space and excellent kitchen to produce your exquisite meals. We all enjoyed our stay and would be more than happy return for a further stay.

We had an amazing time in this fantastic property! There were 16 of us (3 families) and we couldn't have been made more welcome. Nothing was to much for Jeanette and Andrew! The house was lovely and warm when we arrived with a roaring fire going in the sitting room. Nearly all of the rooms have en-suites which was such a blessing and the heated towel rails were an extra bonus. The grounds are fantastic and the house is well equipped for out door activities: even bicycles were provided! Jeanette and Andrew cooked us all a meal worthy of a top restaurant, and they arranged for a fantastic treasure hunt in the grounds for the 2 children in our group. We wholeheartedly recommend this house to anyone who wants to have a fantastic time in a larger group. The kitchen is well equipped and there is lots to do in the house for those days when the weather isn't as nice as we would like it to be! We are hoping to return next year!

Nous avons passé un magnifique séjour à l'Orangerie. Bien sûr la météo a été généreuse et a joué pour une part non négligeable mais nous ne pouvons minimaliser la part de Jeanette et Andrew dans cette réussite. Dès le départ ils ont été disponibles pour satisfaire le moindre de nos désirs, tout en restant extrêmement discrets. La moindre question trouvait sa réponse, tout problème avait une solution rapide. Tout a été conforme au descriptif, l'accueil a été plus que convivial, nous ne pouvons que recommander ce havre de paix au milieu de la campagne normande. Un excellent rapport qualité-prix pour découvrir la région (plages du débarquement, Mont St Michel, Cherbourg, Deauville, Etretat...), notre groupe de 12 personnes a trouvé son bonheur à l'Orangerie et nous ne pouvons que vous la conseiller !

It was clean, spacious and had all the facilities and more as described internally and externally for us to have an excellent holiday. Badminton area in the beautiful grounds was used by our younger members whilst grandparents watched on the sun beds in the quiet tranquil valley. We had many trips out to Normandy landing museums and sites but always looked forward to returning in the evenings to this tranquil property. We also visited Arramanches beach and many of the local villages and experienced the tea dance by the river. Our party ranged from 6 years to 70 years and one week was not enough for us to explore all the areas we would have liked to visit. We were very well looked after for the week with helpful advice and information and would certainly recommend this to friends and family.

This was our second visit to L'Orangerie as a group of 14. It is a wonderful, peaceful and beautiful place and the description does not do it justice. Plenty of space, wonderful hospitality from our very generous hosts, Andrew and Jeanette for whom nothing is too much trouble. Comfortable and very clean with a fantastically well equipped kitchen for those of us who love to cook. We will definitely return.

My wife and I, together with our friends (three other couples), spent a great week at l'Orangerie in June 2016. We have been making a similar trip to Normandy for several of the past 10 years, staying in hotels or most recently hiring a large house and catering for ourselves. We all agreed that i'Orangerie was the best house we had ever rented, not just because it was the biggest ( although having a choice of en-suite bedrooms was a bonus), but we found that everything promised in the property description was there. Plus some unexpected little extras which made us feel very welcome. All the rooms in the house are very spacious, especially the huge lounge with a wood burning stove, which we made good use of on the couple of wet days that we had. The owners, Andrew and Jeanette, are very welcoming and took care to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. It happened to be my 70th birthday while we were there and the owners arranged and served an excellent celebratory dinner for us which definitely made my birthday one to remember!

My family and I (a group of nine adults, three children and a toddler) have just returned from a really super holiday in L'Orangerie. Andrew and Jeanette could not have been more welcoming, and the house and gardens are superb. The meal Jeanette cooked was delicious and a wonderful way to start the holiday and Andrew put on a treasure hunt around the garden for the children, who absolutely loved it! The house was very comfortable, clean and spacious, and the kitchen was incredibly well equipped (it really had EVERYTHING), and very child-friendly (two cots and stair gates!). The garden had plenty of bikes for everyone, as well as games and toys, and a playroom for the children! The area was beautiful with plenty to do (although you could easily entertain yourselves in the house and gardens), and there is a large supermarket a short drive away. We had a fantastic lunch in a nearby restaurant, L'Auberge Auvraysienne (it was so good we wished we'd gone more!) In conclusion, the house and the hosts were faultless and we are already planning a return trip next year!

Very spacious and well equipped property with lovely garden and good facilities. Ideal for our group of 12 60+ adults. Remote and very quiet. Friendly welcome from owners who were very helpful. Lovely area with lots to do if countryside/nature are your thing. Excellent weather helped!

Our large family group (including 9 children) had a really great stay at l'Orangerie. The house was ideal for us with lots of space and masses of beds and bedrooms allowing all the kids to sleep in their preferred groups. The garden is very pretty but also large and enclosed making it super for toddlers, and the football pitch was much used by the bigger kids. There is lots to do locally and we'd especially recommend the Go Ape style parcourt site just five minutes up the road and also a cafe and boating on the river at Clecy. There's also a really good market at Pierre sur Dives. Finally the kids loved the brilliant treasure hunt laid on by Andrew and Jeanette, the owners.

What a special place! We were 14 people, including seven kids ages 8-16. The house was spacious and comfortable, with plenty of room for both privacy and communal activities. The dining and kitchen areas were large enough to seat us all, though we ended up eating most meals in the garden. The house is in a very lovely and tranquil location at the end of a small valley. There are many activities available within a 30 minute drive, and the Normandy beaches are only ~1 hour by car. Our kids especially enjoyed a nearby tree ropes course and kayaking down the Orne River. The house is also well stocked with videos, books and board games. Owners Andrew and Jeanette were extremely friendly and helpful, with tips about where to eat, hike, get the best croissants, etc. Honestly, the only negative was that the week went by too fast. We'd love to return again.
