Loved this place. It had everything we needed and more! We walked to the beach and had plenty of room inside the house. The hot tub was amazing!

Beautiful home in a perfect location! Everything was as described and Ed was absolutely a pleasure to work with. We thought we’d have to reschedule our trip due to tropical storm Ophelia but, we decided to enjoy our time regardless of the weather. Macon Waves was the perfect house to ride out the storm. I would highly recommend their home and I would happily book again in the future!

This house was so wonderful and perfect for the four of us. It was so cute and comfortable. We are able to walk to the beach. Definitely recommend Macon Waves. We also made some memories that will last our lifetime. Cannot wait to come back next year with more family with the new renovations!

Lovely place for a long weekend location with my husband and our friends. We loved the little pool, hammocks, and hot tub. Its in a great location and just a short walk to the beach. The house was tidy and host was very responsive. Highly recommend!

We had a great time. The host really spent extra time adding details to make sure we had all we needed. The location was so close to the beach which was nice. The only complaint I have was the cleaning lady. We were told by the host we could use outside facilities until noon. Check out was at 10 am. We had everything out by 945 and was packing up the van outside at about 10:15. When she pulled up she jumped out the car and started yelling at us. She was saying I waited as long as i could and we should park in the street to load the rest of our stuff. She was literally yelling with all the kids standing by. She didn't say hello or ask us anything. Just started going off. The driveway can hold 3 cars for guest. She kept demanding we park on the street so she could park where we were loading. I told her we would move over so she could get closer to the stairs but we had permission of the owner to be outside till noon. She was still yelling, " i have to get up the stairs." And u can park on the street. Fyi your not allowed to park on the street. We kept our cool and i just moved over to the far left so she could pull up right next to the steps. Once we moved she never moved her car and just went inside. i dont know what the owner pays this lady to clean but she doesn't do that great of a job, honestly.
she was so nasty it makes me think twice about renting again. Eventho the house and host are wonderful. We paid a cleaning fee with the rental. I cleaned alot myself

The property is listed as a 5 bedroom, with 2 kitchens and 3 bathrooms and it is not. They property is only upstairs with another tenant on the site downstairs. The laundry was located in the garage but it was hard to access it. It is a 3 bedroom and 1.5 bath. There is a note on the fridge saying the property will expand to a 5 bedroom in September. But on the this website it doesn't specify a later date. We expected to have a clean 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms and a working hot tub. The information is false. The house was not very clean and the hot tub was broken. The owner did not contact us about it. They did not compensate us for the broken got tub and mentioned that it would be fixed in a month. We traveled across the USA to stay and felt very disappointed with the false information.

We enjoyed the stay, the house was clean, comfy, and cutely decorated. We were a little bummed there was no hot tub, but the house is in the process of expanding so the hot tub is getting replaced which is understandable. The tank pool more than made up for the hot tub and felt amazing after hot days at the beach. The house had chairs for the beach, a rolling cooler, and bikes which we were happy to use. The large dining room table was perfect for our family to eat together and we were able to keep an ongoing monopoly game on the table. One suggestion for the property is to have a washer/dryer (unless there was one there on the 1st level somewhere we didnt see). Overall, we enjoyed our stay and hope to have the opportunity to rent for a weekend when it is expanded!

This was a cute cottage with great amenities. K-cups were provided for the Keurig, there were bikes for use, and a hot tub and pool!
We had our 2 year old with us and a high chair, baby gate, and pack and play were all in the cottage.

Our family of 6 truly enjoyed our stay. Even though it was rainy, our 4 kids (ages 5 months to 6 years) enjoyed the well stocked game cupboard and coloring books! The location was perfect, walking distance to the beach, and easy drive to the Wright Brothers Memorial. There was some dog hair in the rug in the family room, but we didn't mind. It would be a difficult rug to deep clean. Great stay, overall.

The best location! Easy walk to the beach. Great recommendations from Ed about restaurants. The weather as not the best but Ed let us check out at 3pm instead of 10am so we did manage to get a morning at the beach, which was greatly appreciated. An awesome weekend was had by all.

This was a charming property and overall quiet. My wife, daughter and her friend really enjoyed themselves for a girls weekend. Ed is great and very very responsive to questions & needs. We had a couple minor items when we checked in and he was on it right away.

This was our second time staying here and I know we’ll be back again! Love the location and the house. Super quiet street, views of the Wright Brothers Monument and easy beach access. The house is perfect for our family and we love visiting. Thanks for an awesome time!

We were disappointed that despite the listing saying it is pet free, there was dog hair all over the couches, pillows, and rug both inside and outside patio area at the rental and a slight dog smell in the living room. We were greeted by a big ugly cockroach (or palmetto bug) right on the kitchen rug and lots of dead bugs in the shower. Also couldn’t get the airplay on the TV to work…We did enjoy being able to walk to the beach and being a short drive from Forbes for fresh salt water taffy and the awesome Wright Brother’s Memorial! Loved all the hooks in the rooms too and food recommendations given by the host.
We were also confused why we had to pay a chunk for a cleaning fee when we had to make our own beds and strip them, do the dishes, take out the trash and wipe the counters down. But when we arrived the counters had crumbs all over them and the place did not look freshly cleaned.

This was my first time booking through VRBO and it was a great experience. The owner of the property Ed, was so thoughtful and made sure we would have the best time at the Outer Banks. The house was extremely clean and there were a lot of amenities so we could never be bored. I would definitely book here again!!

We had a great stay at Macon Waves! The location couldn't be beat for an active family like ours. We had easy access to all of our activities, the beach was a short walk away, and Publix was a quick drive. There are tons of nearby restaurants when you don't feel like cooking. The house and yard are relaxing, with a stock tank pool, hot tub, and hammocks. The owner was very responsive when we had questions. Highly recommend!

Perfect choice
This property is a perfect choice if you’re looking for convenience, location, cleanliness, and comfort.
The host is incredibly helpful, friendly, prompt, and thorough.
The property had everything I needed for myself and my two younger children. Very comfortable beds, beautiful kitchen and nice finishes throughout the house, it was very clean & welcoming, and overall a lovely place. Would recommend to anyone & everyone!

Noisy but comfortable
Downstairs neighbor is at the base of a stairwell into the upstairs, little between you as far as sound dampening. Location is pretty nice and host is communicative and helpful.

Great location to beach and attractions
Lovely home. Nice accommodations. It rained the entire time we were at the OXB. Having a nice house to stay in made not going to the beach better. The only recommendation that I would have is to upgrade your linens with an extra blanket and pillows.

Mothers Day Surprise
This property is in a great location. It is within walking distance to the beach. The property itself is very clean. The owner provides towels, sheets, pots, pans and coffee/tea. The place is very cozy and clean. It was very easy to get in touch with the owner if any issues came up. I will be staying here again!

We had a lovely stay at the beach. Great location, walking distance to the beach and some restaurants, easy access to shopping and groceries, and prett much right in the middle of everything. Very nice little yard with hammocks and hot tub, which we especially enjoyed. Plenty of comfortable seating out side. Ed is very communicative and even lets us reschedule due to some work conflicts. Would stay again.

Perfect little get away 🤍
My husband and three kids stayed for 2 nights. The house was perfect! The kids loved having their own beds. The beach was a short walk from the house and the hot tub was a helped us relax on the cooler nights. Wish we could have stayed longer, but it was the best mini vacation we could ask for 🤍

A very nice place to escape...
It is such a well thought out rental. This top level apartment is conveniently located to good restaurants, all the standard grocery stores, and even a couple of friendly bars. I'm not sure if it's the owners or the cleaning crew, but the place is feakishly clean. The beds make you want to stay in them for too long they are so comfortable, and the communication with the property owner was pretty much instantaneous...and he's a nice person taboot. I'll book this unit again.
