No breakfast location was great

The pictures on the booking.com website were very misleading as to the quality, finishing and location (view) of the unit. I had understood I had booked the beautiful renovated unit with a mountain view. When we recieved the confimed unit number shortly before departure and googled it , and I saw it was not what we had booked. We identified this as an issue with both booking.com and vacasa but no alternatives were provided and it was stated that the fault was ours, and that there were indeed accurate pictures somewhere on the site and we should have known. I have booked with Booking.com previously and had indeed reviewed this booking very carefully before I had confirmed it. It was expensive, so the outcome was disappointing. The unit is very old and has not been renovated, nor is it well maintained. Brown shag carpet that is so loose and worn it is buckled in places. Cockroaches and other bugs in kitchen and bath and likely elsewhere. Closet doors that were broken off their hinges because of catching on the brown shag carpet. One closet door had been replaced, but was still unfinished and had not been painted at all. This was a ground floor unit, and although there was a small terrace, it was so narrow it barely fit a chair and was not usable for anything other than drying gear. There was a six foot hedge two feet from the unit which made it dark, claustrophobic and there was no ability to sit outdoors comfortably and enjoy the warm weather, so a disappointment for a holiday.

our room was NOT CLEANED when we arrived. garbage cans were FULL, dirty towels on the floor, bedding was not changed. and only 1 half roll of toilet paper provided

loved the location. all in all was the best bang for my buck.

I didn't end up in the room I booked but the replacement was fine.

On arrival, my room was not cleaned. I had to lug my luggage back down to parking and find something to do for several hours while a replacement room was found. This is not the first time this has happened to me at Maui Banyan this year.

Location

This property advertised the full condo fully remodeled with pictures. The pictures look amazing so we are very excited for our honeymoon. We walk into the unit upon arrival and we got the lock off which was basically a side room like a motel. Even the email sent to my from Booking.com showed the full unit in the pictures after we booked. Vacasa manages this property and were wonderful, they truly cared and even said this was not right. They moved us to a different property and gave us a discount. Do not book with Booking.com, they are very misleading.

Location was great. Grounds were decent.

Just didn’t think it matched the $ value and far below expectation.

Clean, great location, easy access to the things we wanted to do. Barbecues for the cleanest I’ve ever seen. Information about property was very accurate and we were able to get there late at night and have no problem accessing our room.

It would’ve been nice to have a kitchen. But that is not what the property said it had. So not the fault of the property
