The home couldn’t have been nicer. The hosts thought of everything from cozy bedding, a stocked kitchen, and well appointed comfort. It truly was a treat to stay here. The home is conveniently located to the perks of Jim Thorpe and the parking was greatly appreciated. With a bit of maneuvering, we managed to fit two SUVs and two midsize cars. The hosts provided clear directions for checkin and checkout procedures, as well as tips for things to do. I am picky and can reassure anyone that the house was spotless. With all the seating and items in the kitchen preparing meals was a breeze. We had a charming weekend and hope to be back!

Simply Wow! The photos do not do this home justice. From the moment you step foot into this beautiful get-away, you will feel at ease and right at home. The rooms are spacious and well appointed with no details left to chance. The outside grounds have a welcoming patio in the back with a relaxing atmosphere perfect for enjoying your morning coffee or tea. Location! You couldn't ask for a better location to start your exploration of this charming town. Literally steps from the museum, dining, shopping, points of interest, etc., we were never more than a few minutes to any of our chosen destinations. The onsite parking is also a major plus. Everyone in our party of six stated many times that this was the nicest VRBO they have ever stayed in, and we have stayed in many all over the States. We will be back!

The Owl House was fabulous! Perfect location to access everything Jim Thorpe has to offer. The private parking is a big plus as street parking is very limited. The house itself is very charming and full of amenities and modern conveniences. The hosts were awesome and left us some nice greeting greeting gifts. They also had the house and grounds decorated for Halloween which you would have to see to truly appreciate, especially the huge animated Grim Reaper scarecrow in front of the house. It was a popular attraction for passersby and the subject of many photos and selfies. The cleanest and most well-appointed rental I've ever stayed at. The bed was immediate cloud 9 time. We had a great time taking the scenic train to White Haven, biking back to Jim thorpe, enjoying a concert at the Opera House, shopping and dining at the wonderful restaurants. A must-do trip and we found the perfect home base to do it from! 5 stars+.

The Owl house is an absolutely Fantastic Property! It truly delivers on everything and then some! The home itself is in a fantastic location, making it so perfectly walkable to practically everything in Jim Thorpe. And if you haven't been before, you will so appreciate that this home has onsite PARKING as the town gets mobbed! The home was so beyond our expectations - despite the lovely online photos. It is so spacious over the 3 floors, so beautifully decorated, and has every amenity you could want. And with a beautiful outside area too! And to top it off, Brian could not have been a kinder or more responsive host. Would give him 10 stars if I could! He truly wants you to love your stay, the home, and the town, and goes above and beyond to ensure you do. Will definitely return - thank you!!!

We absolutely love The Owl House! This was our second stay and I have to say, when we walked through the doors it was like we never left. We felt at home and so peaceful, and like we never left. Brian and David make sure you feel welcomed in their home. They couldn’t have made our stay better than it was. We can’t wait for next year! I’m counting down the days!

Spent my birthday weekend here with my family. The location is perfect. You can park your car in the driveway and walk everywhere. The house was very clean and extremely well stocked…more so than any other VRBO stay. The homeowners truly know how to make your time there so easy and hassle-free The backyard is a perfect oasis to enjoy morning coffee and watch hummingbirds. The bedrooms and baths were ideal. The fans and AC units made all rooms very comfortable. There are a lot of steps in the home but there are lights all along them. And the note in the description about car size is important to note. Luckily we were in a Honda CRV rather than our big pickup truck. I can’t say enough about this home and the homeowners who made it the perfect place to stay in Jim Thorpe, PA!

This place was so special! Such great touches from the owners from the little snacks all the way to the fluffy towels. Not just one towel per person either. Great sheets and bedding, loved the pillows and will be buying them. Beautifully decorated, comfortable and clean. The pictures really don't do it justice. We loved everything. These guys understand going away and really make sure that it is special. Location was great, able to walk to all the fun things to do. Thank goodness there is parking here because that is tough overall in this town. Suggest carpooling if all driving separate. There is room for 3 cars.

It took us a year, but we finally got here to the owl house, renovated just recently. This House was not only in a perfect spot to everything Jim Thorpe has to offer, but private parking off street. Gorgeous house, well put together, everything you need, for a great stay. Definitely coming back, lots to do outdoors, and the museum of Mauch Chunk “AKA Jim Thorpe” is right across the street. Everything about The Owl House is perfect. The location is incredible. The Halloween decorations are super fun. We loved that it’s a smart home. All the snacks were a sweet and savory surprise. The Owl House is cuter in person then the photos, plus the hosts are amazing with no detail overlooked. Brian was very responsive from the time I booked our annual girl's trip to Jim Thorpe, and had excellent communication with me before and during our stay. It was super handy that he provided us with a list of things to see/do before we arrived, but also had copies in their "Welcome Binder". We didn't stray from his recommendations and had an relaxing long weekend! The Owl House, itself, is AMAZING! In my line of work, I know property photos don't always represent the property online as it does in person, but believe me it does! The house is nestled in the heart of historical Jim Thorpe and within walking distance to all the cute shops, restaurants, and train/trolley. The extra bonus was the parking spot right next to the house because street parking would have been a nightmare in the height of Fall Festival season. With a home being over 175 years old, the home is maintained very well and updated to keep the charm of Era the home was built. It's seasoned with all the hardwood floors, exposed brick walls, moldings, while enjoying the luxury of 21st century. Each bedroom has a very comfortable bed and pillows along with plush linens and ensuite baths. The home overall was inviting and was what we needed for a relaxing girl's weekend. We we book the Owl House again? Absolutely!!!

The Owl House is one of The Best properties for your comfort and convenience! Our group of 5 women stayed here for a weekend birthday celebration. We were close to everything so we could walk everywhere. This is a great location in town with the added bonus of parking on the side of the house. From the moment we booked the house until the time we checked out every need we had was met with this property and the owners. We all agreed that we would stay here again as a group or with our families. And I just have to mention how clean the whole house was and how comfortable. The owners have thought of everything! We were very welcomed and very impressed with the attention to detail here. A 10 out of 10! Looking forward to going back again.

We have traveled and stayed in numerous vacation properties; the Owl House is by far the BEST! The ambiance, location and cleanliness is superior. Brian and David were attentive and accommodating.; their attention to detail was impeccable. We will definitely be returning for another stay!

My family and I had a wonderful stay at the Owl House. The accommodations are large and comfy, so we felt at home the entire time we were there. It was great to be able to walk a few blocks for morning coffee (and donut), dinner, or even a scenic train ride. Having off street parking was a major plus as well. The house was well stocked and ready to go, and Brian took care of any of our additional needs.

The Owl house is amazing! It’s cozy and comfortable. With every step through the house, there’s a special touch. They think of every creature comfort and it’s there. Sweet touches let you know that they have thought about every aspect of your stay. We brought my parents who are both in their 80’s and they picked the large beautiful suite. It was so nice for them because they still had some privacy. My mom got especially excited to see the tree out her window lit up at night with a touch of fairy lights. Our room was so cozy and comfortable and the bed was so comfortable I slept like a baby. The adorable back deck was just its own little slice of heaven with beautiful gardens. They even have herbs growing that you can use if you choose to cook! Birds, butterflies, and the cutest little bunny kept us entertained. The water, soda, and candy is the fridge were a great! On the counters were snacks and wine! An ice cream cake was left in the freezer because my husbands birthday had just passed and we couldn’t be more thankful. We are definitely looking forward to going back! Thank you Brian!

This home was better than we could have imagined. It was in town, very unique,spacious, well stocked, and clean. The hosts thought of EVERYTHING! We hope to be able to rent the Owl House again next summer!

My friends and I needed a relaxing weekend away and loved staying at the Owl house! At a time when a lot of VRBO’s do the bare minimum, they went above and beyond with snacks, drinks, a bottle of wine, and coffee all supplied for us! The house is gorgeous and has an amazing backyard and it’s walking distance to everything in Jim Thorpe! I hope to stay here again soon!

Every question we had was answered immediately and we were given so much information on the area that really made our time in Jim Thorpe even more fun. The location of the house has to be the very best in town. The house is beautiful and so welcoming. We would never stay anywhere else when coming to the Jim Thorpe area. We had an excellent time in Jim Thorpe, primarily due to the great location and comfortable accomodations of the Owl House. The house is larger than it appeared in the pictures and is extremely well appointed with a perfect blend of historic design and modern conveniences. We were just as happy staying in as we were going out. The house is centrally located in historic Jim Thorpe and all of the shops and attractions are within a 10 minute walk. The drive to Blue Mountain was only 30 minutes. The hosts were easy to contact and gave detailed instructions for check in and for general use of the house. They went above and beyond to make sure we felt welcomed as soon as we entered. I give my highest recommendation for staying at this property and I look forward to staying here again.

Do not miss a stay at Owl House! The carefully curated cozy decor invites you in to relax and enjoy! It is apparent the great pride the owners take with their careful balance of preserving this historic home on millionaire's row and creating an indulgent experience! Cozy up on the the leather seating area of the living room, or find a natural fiber blanket in one of the many baskets to snuggle. Luxuriate under the rainfall shower of the bright and modern master bath before heading out to fine restaurants and unique shops just steps from this home! Walking in, we found favorite bottles of red and white wines awaiting us on the antique bar compete with ambient lighting and snacks galore! There was an ice-cream cake in the freezer (who does that!) as well as a few softdrinks and a large snack assortment on the ready so we could dive right in to a fall weekend getaway! My favorite part of the house is the intimately casual moment found at the entrance to the master suite. A few women in my group gravitated to this relaxing seating area and got caught up in conversation and laughter-- I suspect that this area did as exactly as designed! Stepping out back, we found chairs with pillows, sunny spots, and Halloween decor out of a magazine! Did I mention the whimsical Halloween decor tucked throughout the entire house? Entering each room is like turning a page in the October edition of Home and Garden magazine! Communication from the owners is timely, relevant, engaging, fun, and insightful. They care about you and about your stay. They love the Jim Thorpe community and delight in sharing recommendations and insight! We took every recommendation, from dinner, to shopping, and even the Sunday brunch at an art cafe on the outskirts of town. Owl House has elevated the VRBO experience. This review does not come close to communicating the whole of what you can expect with your stay. Book this now and never look back!

I can't say enough about our hosts and their property. Well decorated, clean, spacious and the bottles of wine and goodies was just a wonderful gesture. So close to town and attractions only used my car once and probably didn't even have to do that. The side driveway was certainly a plus since parking was at a premium on the street. I would highly recommend this property and we certainly look for to our next trip to Jim Thorpe and will not have to look any further the Owl House. DP

It really is all about Location, Location, Location and this is a short walk to everything you want to do in Jim Thorpe. They did an amazing renovation and decorating job throughout the house. We forgot there was a third floor and never even got up to it. Everything was in the house you could possibly need including numerous goodies to help your diet, cake (my wife's birthday), candies, chips, etc., etc. All the nice touches and a fabulous back yard for wine time, picnic and BBQ. While the home is 175 years old, it lives like one built last year and is most enjoyable. Caveat for oldsters like us (late 70's), the stairs are a little steep and narrow particularly for luggage. We've been to Jim Thorpe twice now but only the Owl House once but we'd definitely would book again. Maybe for a week or more as there is so much to do in the area. We're from San Diego and we've rented homes all over the US and the world and found this to be as unique as many others we have rented. Like I said, The Owl House is What a "Hoot"! Dennis & Ruth

Every detail was accounted for. This property had the city location with a beautiful botanical garden. Well decorated with huge bedrooms. The owners knew we were celebrating a graduation and a birthday and had a cake made for us. I forgot a bag with my sunscreen and other essentials. There was shampoo, soap, and sunscreen available until I was able to get to the store. Great communication with the owners. Immaculate, very clean. Great dishes, including outdoor plates and owl coffee mugs. Wine on the counter with snacks and a personalized note. If you are considering this one- book it! You’ll love it and have a great time!

Our three night stay at "The Owl House" was perfect! It's location is just steps away from the shops, restaurants and attractions! This magnificent house was exceptionally clean, a great layout for my husband and I, and our two adult children, as we all had our own bedroom and bathroom. It is very spacious, with large areas for eating and gathering, as well a beautiful backyard with gardens. We loved watching the hummingbirds in the mornings with our cup of coffee. Brian made us feel so special with his welcome note, and unexpected goodies! He is quick to answer any questions regarding the home and the town. Brian is hospitable and was a pleasure to work with! We can't wait to return Jim Thorpe and will definitely be staying at "The Owl House" again!

This is my second time staying at the Owl House and each time it exceeds my expectations. The first time was with my family and we all loved the awesomeness of the mixture of historic home updated with modern day luxury. I decided to bring my mom and a friend for round 2 and once again we were so happy to be here. Jim Thorpe’s bustling, quaint Main Street is just a short walk out the front door while outback you have the peace and beauty of a rear yard filled with nature’s eye candy. So many things to do ranging from beautiful trails, Main Street shopping, museums, and great antique shops. Brian and David have decorated the home in such a way I never want to leave. Beautiful antiques, lovely kitchen and baths, and extremely comfy furniture. They are by far the best at making their guests feel at ease. No crazy to do list when you leave and they provide much more then I have ever seen at my past “owner” vacation spots. Top notch everything! This is a 5 star ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ experience!!

We had a girls weekend at this property and couldn’t have asked for more. The location was perfect. Close to restaurants, shopping, tours, biking, and train. The rental had a driveway to park in, so didn’t have to worry about finding parking. The house had plenty of space for each of us to have our own room and bathroom. The beds were so comfortable! We enjoyed evenings on the back patio in the flower garden. This would be a great stay for couples, friends, or a family vacation.
