The food was lovely and the staff friendly & helpful. Check in was easy & they coped well with our group of 15 guests.

Disappointed to see there was no decaffeinated tea in the hotel room, luckily I had bought some of my own teabags!

The loacation was great, the staff friendly, helpful and efficient, and the breakfast was excellent!

The only fault with the hotel is that because it is an old Inn the floors creaked and the noise from doors slamming carried to our room.

The room was a generous size with a comfortable double bed and decent large smart TV. The bathroom was compact, but there was space to put things either side of the sink. The shower cubicle was large but the water pressure was disappointing. The staff were excellent in all areas; very friendly and helpful. The English Breakfast on my first morning was excellent but was a bit cold on the second morning, which was disappointing.

The view of the car park and some outside tables wasn't great, but I wasn't staying there for the views and thankfully I didn't notice the smell of smoke from the people smoking outside.

Noise from the bar through the floor. But after 2300hrs it was quiet. Breakfast coffee cold. Black pudding and sausage overdone. Just had toast on the second day.

The staff were very friendly, great location right in the centre of Braintree. Free parking. Lovely omelette for breakfast

The only thing was that the hotel looked very tired and dated. The general corridors looked quite grubby with dirty marks all over the white internal doors and glass. Hadn't been cleaned for a while. The light switch in our room was very marked and needed replacing.

Bar and restaurant available to guests and public alike. Staff were very good. Iron, ironing board and hair dryer in room. Great location

Spacious room with large shower and comfy bed. Staff are lovely and the food is great, they had no issues with taking drinks up to the room. Building is charming and shows off its history well. Was able to park all of my stay.

The team are planning on working more on the air conditioning, downstairs is cooler though.
