Very clean, large house with great amenities. Kevin was great to work with before and during our stay!

We enjoyed our stay here. Check in and check out was super simple. The house was clean and appropriately described. The kitchen had ample space for preparing meals. There were games and even toys for the baby. The high chair and crib worked great. We didn’t have any issues. Would stay here again and recommend to friends.

My family and I just stayed here this past month to go to the indoor waterpark. The location of this property was great, but the house needed a lot of work. There were several things broken in the home or about to fall apart. From exposed nails on the floor, holes in walls, pool sticks, and air hockey tables not working correctly. The property's cleanliness was poor and didn't seem to have been cleaned in awhile. I contacted the owner privately and expressed our concern with this house, and never did receive a response.

The place came with a well-equipped kitchen, and it was in a very nice area. We thoroughly enjoyed the pool table and air hockey, and the proximity to hiking trails. All in all, a wonderful place!

The stay was great. We did the arcade and the escape room that was there on the resort. We had dinner at the Campfire Grill, which was very good. The house was great, plenty of room for the entire family plus some.

Our family enjoyed a wonderful long weekend stay at this beautiful home! It had plenty of space and was perfect for our family! We will be adding this to the favorites! Can’t wait to spend our ski weekend back here next year!! Thank you for a wonderful experience!!

The location is great as it’s close to the ski area, grocery store and restaurants. We enjoyed meals and games at the large dining table. The house was clean, and we appreciated the K-cups provided. Some updating could make for a more comfortable stay. There wasn’t much room to store groceries. The bunk beds on the lower level were unstable and the mattresses were not comfortable. The shower door on the top floor bath was difficult to close. It was apparent others had issues as there is mold starting to appear around the caulking at the base. We couldn’t get the fireplace on the main floor or one of the TVs to work, but we didn’t contact anyone about it. At the end of our stay, we noted there were discrepancies with the online checkout instructions and the guest book in the house. When contacting the host, he was very quick to reply. We did enjoyed our stay and everyone had a great time. A few minor issues didn’t have a major impact on our vacation. Lynne

House was clean and well equipped with plenty of space for friends and family. The location was great in a lovely setting. Property manager was responsive. Game room and large laundry room on the lower level were great to have. Parking space is limited for a house of this size and the fireplaces were not working at the time of our stay. Overall, a great stay.

First time experience at the resort was nothing short of amazing. Great location and a lot of activities in the surrounding area. The rental was beautiful and spacious.

Very cozy and beautiful scenery

Kitchen, dining area, master bed are nice size. The lower area was great for our 4 grandkids: it has two bunk beds, a pool table, and air hockey. Their time at the home was spent in the lower level. The location was excellent. The only negative comment is about the family room. There was only a couch and a love seat. That was not nearly enough seating for a home that sleeps 12.

The house was great. As advertised, clean, well equipped and lots of space. The location is pretty, quiet, and we saw lots of birds and deer. Kevin, the property manager, was responsive and quickly dealt with a couple of problems. Overall, a very enjoyable stay.

We rent a home annually for JMU parents weekend - and cleanliness is always #1 concern - this home could not be any cleaner - and all the TV's work as well (which is always a variable in Massanutten) - it has anything you could need - time for a few updates - screens to patio have holes and that type of thing - but overall great house

Our stay was 3 nights, definitely plenty to do around the resort. I did not travel with children but there are activities for kids inside the home. Some of the areas of the home were not clean, but overall the home was good and would stay there again.

Place was beautiful!

Spacious, clean. Great family vacation. Few minor repairs needed but did not interfere with our stay. Beds were confortable but squeaky. Children were happy with all the entertainment. Would stay again. Kevin was easily accessible and helpful.

Overall the home is beautiful with a great layout and plenty of living and sleeping space. Decorating and furniture were all well done. The deer visited on a regular basis and we all enjoyed that. We also liked the game room and laundry room on the lower level. Cleaning/Property Inspection crew could have shown a little more attention to detail.

Great house for our family of 11 and the location was perfect. Owner was very responsive. I did inform the owner of a few things that need repair or were from previous renters but none of it impacted our stay.

We booked this house for the family to celebrate JMU graduation. The house was spacious and very clean. Everyone said their beds were comfortable. The kitchen only had 2 wine glasses so if you have wine drinkers bring more. I luckily brought plastic cups that we used. The kitchen was missing a dish drain and only had a few dish towels which made hand washing dishes difficult. The dishwasher did most of the work but we needed a few things washed by hand to be used. If you want to share snacks, I would bring large bowls and platters as well. The deck was wonderful to sit on an enjoy the trees and stars. The house is about 25 minutes from JMU and it is an easy ride to campus. Overall it was a great weekend at the house.

Great rooms and plenty of space. Once we figured out heat, it was good. Some of the toilet seats were previously broken and the toilet in the game room was 'loose'? Adding this as informational only. Kids LOVED the game room and a ton of fun was had. Thanks Kevin!

The house was very comfortable, clean, and close to everything. Everyone enjoyed the air hockey table and the big dining room table to play board games. The beds were comfortable and the house was well furnished. And even though it’s so simple, having toilet paper and paper towels provided is so nice!

This is our second time staying here. We came up for a February ski weekend at Massanutten just like we did before, only this time it was really warm and the only place to find snow was what was left of the man-made stuff on the runs. Ugh. Not ideal for skiing and boarding. But no problem! This house supports all sorts of fun as we decided to alter our plans. We played board games (lots provided) plus played pool and air hockey on the tables downstairs. We also watched movies, cooked good food, slept in, took long baths and went on hikes. We also visited the nearby Massanutten Spa, miniature golf course, and the outdoor ice rink. Tons of fun! Who needs skiing?!? Staying here made all that possible and ensured we had a good time. It was truly a pleasant stay at the Cedar Chalet! No doubt we will be back… snow or no snow!

Fun

This property was exactly as it was advertised. We enjoyed our long weekend getaway with family and friends. The house does need some maintenance (door handles loose, broken doors on the downstairs entrainment center and dresser in master bedroom, and all the wall electrical plugs were all loose. Also the grill was rusted and in bad shape.. yes we did grill while visiting after having to get a grill cleaning kit). As far as Massanutten resort- wish I could say we enjoyed it but that is not the case. Purchasing tickets for snow sports is extremely difficult. Also- the Saturday we were there, a private rental closed the mini golf, GoKarts, and other activities. Not ideal in peak winter season. The slopes were so packed and just all around not the best experience of the resort itself. The property served its purpose but we will not be returning to Massanutten Resort. For the host- easy check-in and effortless reservation process. Thank you!

Spacious and comfortable!

My husband and I had a wonderful Christmas staycation in the mountains with my daughter, her husband and his Parents and our adorable three grandchildren! (3,4 and 11 years old). The kids had a great time and loved the loft!! ❤️ The house was lovely, spacious and perfect for our group, it met our needs with two master bedrooms for the GrandParents! There were a few hiccups with the coffee makers, a little dust and maintenance in the main hallway bathroom! We would stay here again, however! Kevin accomadated our last minute need to bring along a pet! 😅 The house was also decorated with a lovely 🎄! Well worth the cost! Three n a half ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️ rating! Lori D (Maryland)
