Good but not great.
We enjoyed our weekend in Boone at this cabin. It has all of the necessities needed (basic soaps, kitchen appliances, etc) and the rooms are spread out enough to give everyone privacy. Lots of space for parking and the house and property are beautiful.
Below are a few things that caught us off guard and dropped our overall opinion of the stay:
- we came with three couples (including us) and three young children. We knew there were enough bedrooms based on the listing but were really disappointed to find out that one of the bigger beds was only accessible through the kids bunk bed room. With the kids going to bed so early, this was a major inconvenience.
- The heat is really hard to control across the house. Individual thermostats and heaters in every room. We were all either cold or sweating.
- There was a really strong sewage smell that would come and go in the downstairs. We let the homeowners know that they should look into this.
- We didn’t find the pool table and dart board usable in the winter. It was way too cold in the garage.
Im not sure we’d come back again. It’s a beautiful house but for the price I think we could find a better suited house for our large of a group.

Everything needed for extended family to celebrate my dad's 90th birthday. Great place for grandchildren to unplug and enjoy the outdoors. Look forward to our next visit.

Great spot in a spectacular area of the country that we had never been to before. This feels like a home and not a rental. The owners treat the place with so much care from the well stocked kitchen to the Xbox games to the comfortable beds and sheets and the books. Thanks for sharing your piece of heaven with us!

The home is spacious and beautiful and the kitchen is well-stocked. The host, Samantha, has gone above and beyond to make sure the home has everything to keep the adults and kids happy and comfortable! We enjoyed relaxing on the porch, making s'mores in the fire pit, and hiking to the nearby waterfalls. The check- in/ check- out process was very simple and the host was very easy to contact.
We look forward to staying at Sleepy Bear again!
