Quirky lovely lodge, nicely done with comfort at the heart. Comfortable bed and incredibly quiet location.

It says it has WiFi but does not connect to the Internet. However, that was also a plus point to get away from it all. Loved that.

Beautiful property and location, and the host was lovely. He also provided some bread, eggs, milk, and butter, which were delicious.

Although self-catering we were given milk, bread, butter, cider and juice.

Loved how the lodge was quirky. A nice small lodge but yet so spacious! The little gifts they give you for the weekend was such a kind gesture. It was very private also!

Everything was perfect for us, we had such a nice couple days relaxing in this peaceful location. Paul was more than helpful for any queries we had. Would highly recommend!!

great place for a getaway,quiet,secluded yet only a short walk into the town,met Paul on arrival & he immediately made you feel welcome & a nice touch with the fresh bread,milk,butter & eggs from their chickens.WiFi was very good & Tv with Netflix for the evening.

Everything. The attention to detail so you wouldn't need to bring anything and the genuine kindness of wanting you to enjoy your stay from Paul was really appreciated. The hot tub was our highlight as reason we booked and stayed perfectly warm & easy to use throughout our stay. The shower is absolute perfection and towels provided are really good quality. Also being able to use a firepit with wood provided was really lovely too. Even though we didn't use the eggs & bread provided (only as we couldn't be bothered to cook anything) we really appreciated the thought and happy we had milk in the fridge and tea & coffee options. If anybody wanted to cook its a fully stocked kitchen. The wifi connection is absolutely spot on aswell. Would love to stay there again someday.

Nothing. Having to leave to go home!

We booked a weekend away and chose Shute Lodge, really friendly owner greeted us and the place was amazing, lots of privacy and very pleased with our booking. Had everything we needed, great kitchen and all the facilities were excellent; amazing to have an AC machine during this heatwave. Cooking hob worked great, really nice to have the TV with Netflix to watch in the evening while having dinner. Inside of the lodge was very well presented and had a unique charm to it. The outdoor pool was good fun and it was a great temp, the outdoor shower included was a nice touch. Heated up in no time at all. Only a short walk down the road into Bovey Tracey or a short drive to the other cool locations in the area. Highly recommend to stay here. We will definitely be staying again in the future.

This beautiful hidden gem is truly wonderful! So very well thought out, very welcoming feel aswell as the hosts. From being to end of our stay it was truly fantastic. Hidden away it really has a luxury, cosy rural feel that is peaceful and tranquil. The pool and outside shower is an amazing extra we spent our whole weekend in this little heaven with not one complaint, totally impressed, relaxed and content. Would recommend Shute Lodge over and over cant wait to return!

Beautifully presented and spotlessly clean. A cosy hideaway, but only a short walk to Bovey and at the gateway to Dartmoor, so something for everyone. Great hosts, who kindly provided bread, milk, butter, eggs and cider!

Didn’t book a long enough stay

Although set in the back garden of Paul & Jude ,it is very secluded and not overlooked by the main house. The lodge is clean and comfortable with all necessities supplied to self cater ! Wifi ,TV, mini speaker for all your entertainment !

Coffee machine and microwave oven did not have instructions although Paul is always on hand with any help needed! As a sun lover would have been nice to have a small sunspot amongst the mature garden area

It was such a beautiful peaceful place to stay. The location the surroundings and the hosts.. The little touches like eggs and milk and the way it was presented. Would love to return someday. Never felt so relaxed lying in the hammock looking up at the sky. Highly recommend this lovely lodge.

There wasn't anything not to like.

Everything. Paul and Jude have thought of Everything to make you feel welcome and at home. Paul even brought us some welcome gifts of fresh eggs from their hwns, fresh local milk, butter, fresh bread and a bottle of wine. Even though they live at the end of the garden they left you alone to enjoy the lodge. What a little gem. Also the town centre is only a nice 10 minute walk where you'll find some lovely independent shops and a lovely little cafe. Would definitely recommend this place, it really is quiet, peaceful and cosy 😊

I have honestly never stayed in such wonderful accommodation, it was everything I hoped for and more. My partner and I came for our honeymoon and I couldn't even imagine anywhere more peaceful and cosy. The cabin was fully stocked with everything you need for a self-catered break: kitchen utensils, microwave, hob, ironing board, hairdryer...even a mini-speaker! The splash pool was really refreshing, to be followed by a blissfully warm outdoor shower. We had the privilege to meet the owner, Paul, who was very friendly and welcoming. He also left us some thoughtful local treats for our stay. The location is very close to Bovey Tracey and surrounding countryside, with some pretty views over a nearby estate.

There was nothing to dislike about our stay in Paul's beautiful cabin, everything was absolutely perfect.
