The location was perfect and San Gemini is a fabulous small town to visit. We also ate in the San Gemini Palace / House restaurant and the food and service were excellent. The staff was also very friendly and helpful.

Our room was not like what is shown in the pictures and even though it is advertised to have parking available, there were only 4 reserved spaces which were already taken when we arrived. The public parking is just past the reserved spaces though. Unfortunately, what is an historic home seems also to be a bit neglected. The door to our room did not stay locked well. We had to continually secure it by forcing a rubber cap into the ceiling above so the bolt securing the second panel would stay in place. Otherwise, it would fall down and both doors could easily be pushed open even while locked. We ended up keeping our heaviest suitcase in front of the second door panel. Additionally, the floors were in need of some repairs; the commode did not always flush properly; the towel rack and cabinet in the bathroom were not properly assembled and thus not fully stable; the doors of the wardrobes were very squeaky; and there were only 4 hangers provided for two bedrooms.

This place is unique since in the past it was a private house, so all the furniture and decor are authentic and original. The staff went above and beyond helping me and were very professional and welcoming. The place is conveniently placed inside the old city walls, in one of the principal streets. Our stay was very pleasant.
