La Hacienda Rio was exactly as listed. The house is very nice with a great view of Pipe Creek and surrounding hillsides. Easy access to creek and plenty of deer around the property. The house was very comfortable and had everything we needed during our stay. The hosts were great with plenty of communication. RM

This house is amazing, the river runs behind the property we did a bit of expiring. There are numerous deer on the property. House is very nice. Clean beautiful and very cozy. The owners are very responsive and helpful. We will definitely return.

Us and our friends were looking for a weekend getaway, and this place was perfect! The location is great, right on the river (although unfortunately for us, the water by the house was extremely low, but a quick trip down the road to the park and the water was better), and Bandera is a short drive away and offers some great places to eat and shop. Would highly recommend this place, the house is amazing and very clean and the hosts were very easy to communicate with during the entire process.

Everything was just as advertised. Spacious and clean. Even during intense drought, river still had water in it and provided lots of hiking and soaking opportunities.

If you are looking for a place to lay up and relax.... Planning on driving to the Horse Sho3 or Comal, then this is your place to rent.

The family had a wonderful time staying at La Hacienda Rio. The House was beautiful and spacious. The kids enjoyed being so close to nature. The big kids had a relaxing time exploring the river. Would love to come back.

The home was absolutely perfect! From the host to the scenery it was all one could ask for. The views were something you'd hope to find during a hike at a state park. We are definitely booking again this summer!

La Hacienda Rio is one of my favorite river retreats and the most relaxing place that we’ve stayed in the Texas Hill Country. Located on the Medina River, the house is a newly constructed and rests on 2 acres of land with 150 feet of riverfront views. The structure is a one-story, but the property is set on three levels. Down from the house is an outdoor sitting area with a table and chairs and fire pit . It affords outstanding direct views of the crystal clear Medina. Walk down a bit further to the river’s edge. There is seating there as well. Sitting on the back deck you can enjoy the beautiful hill country in the distance. There are no other homes within view of the deck There is a home next door, but the deck and the yard are completely private. When we arrived at dusk we were greeted by deer. The host left corn to feed them. Plenty of birds sing into the night, and ducks and egrets can be seen on the river. The house is a beautifully appointed open concept design with concrete floors the color of the surrounding canyons. It is comfortably furnished with a rustic Texas twist. There is an indoor fireplace with logs provided. The beds are large and cozy and the master bedroom has nice river views. Our host left snacks, wine and breakfast bars.She even left a lovely hand painted post card of the river.All of our needs were met, including a fully equipped kitchen. It is truly a spectacular Hill Country experience!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property, which is a 15-min drive from Bandera. The house itself is beautiful, clean, and spacious. Laura was very responsive and helpful with the few questions we had. A really nice touch was the welcome gift on the kitchen counter, along with a delightful watercolor painting of the river. (Yes, she expects you to take it as a souvenir of your trip!) The view from the back deck is so peaceful, as is the view from a little lower down, and of course all the way down by the river - and there are seating options at all levels. The walk down to the water was a little steep and gravelly but nothing we couldn't handle. I appreciated the lightweight lounge chairs available for carrying down to the river's edge and basking in the sun. We enjoyed feeding the deer each day (owner left us deer corn). One chilly evening, we warmed up by the firepit coffee table and toasted marshmallows. One thing to note - this time of year the painted concrete floors were chilly, so I recommend bringing slippers, but they probably feel fabulous in the hot summer months. Sofa was comfy. Beds were comfy if you like a firm mattress. Tap water tastes a little odd, but no fear - there was even a water cooler in the kitchen! If you're looking for something, be sure to check the pantry and all cabinets/drawers in the kitchen - you're liable to find it. Thank you, Laura, for a lovely getaway experience!

Great property for those that are looking to get away. Great location and very nice house. Laura is a fabulous host. That being said just be sure that you know it is an hour from San Antonio so plan accordingly.

La Hacienda Rio is a very nice property. We arrived on Saturday and left on Tuesday. Check in was super simple and the direction/instructions were very clear and easy to follow. The home itself is very comfortable, spacious and extremely clean. It is nicely and thoughtfully decorated. Fall decorations were placed in the living room and dining area. Beautiful prints of the wildlife, photographed on the property and surrounding areas, hang throughout the house. The back porch was a wonderful place to enjoy coffee in the morning, watch for deer (they come right up to the porch) and listen to the creek and the birds. The neighborhood is serene and filled with wildlife. It is obvious Laura wants to provide a very nice experience for her guests. She was extremely helpful, responding quickly to my questions about shopping for groceries and dining opportunities in the surrounding area. It’s is the perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and relax. My only regret is that we didn’t have more time to stay. We would definitely enjoy staying at La Hacienda Rio again in the future.

This, by for, was an absolute fabulous place to stay right on the river.. My family had a great time relaxing, enjoying the wildlife, the peace & quiet, and walking along the river. The house was incredible, spacious, rustic look, with a great backyard view of the river on the patio with a nice hot cup of coffee. We will definitely rent here again!!!

We really enjoyed our stay at La Hacienda Rio on Medina River. The house is lovely and the amenities are well thought out. The deer feed provided was a nice touch so we could see the deer close to the house in the early morning hours. Though the river level was low we still had a good time fishing. There were some nice size bass in the deeper waters. There are plenty of places to sit and enjoy the view with a coffee or a glass of wine. There are other houses near by but everyone was pretty quiet for the most part. I would definitely recommend this location to anyone looking to get a way from the city and spend some time with the family or have a romantic getaway.
