It’s central to Ayr, large apartment, parking on street right outside, easy to walk to shops. Bedroom and living-room felt clean and tidy.

Kitchen wasn’t very clean, had to go buy fairy liquid, hand soap, towels. The sponge in kitchen was mouldy, plates and cups in cupboard was dirty. The knives for cutting didn’t have points on them. The shower curtain rail fell during stay had been previously taped and bath leaked.

Only issue we had was there were no towels!

Location and ease of access

No towels provided, despite being listed. Had to chase owners for checking in information to be told, on day of check-in and after we had left that 5here would be no towels. Not great when travelling light for an early Ryanair flight.

Location was excellent as used this for a stopover before an early morning flight from Glasgow prestwich. The price, for what we need it was a really good price, especially for 4 people.

The corridor to the flat smelt like some of the cafes you walk past in Amsterdam. The flat itself luckily did not. However, the bathroom had a very strange smell, damp mixed with something else, the flooring definitely needs replacing. The shower curtain was broken and kept falling from the ceiling, it was held up by tape. No loo roll, so had to pop out and buy some. Kitchen had pretty much all what you needed, no instructions for the boiler that I could find, so could not get hot water, boiled the kettle to wash up. No washing up liquid but some random cleaning products left under sink. Sitting room was lovely, but when the kids put the recliners up, underneath was full of crisps etc. and be careful with curtain rail as when I pulled the curtains open, the pole moves and almost fell down.

Clean property in good location.

Shower not fit for purpose, boiler not working (which owners knew about prior to our stay, but didn’t inform us!) resulting in no hot water or radiators.

The key safe code was not working. I had to contact Booking.com in order to obtain a new code.

What an absolute gem of a place! My daughter and I were doing a family pilgrimage and we did not want any time constraints so being able to arrive at a time to suit us and collect the keys from the key safe was perfect. We booked this property based on location, availability and price so hadn't really looked at the listing. We were surprised to find that it was a whole apartment. The beds were really comfortable, the lounge was comfortable too. It was just absolutely perfect for our needs. We were able to walk into town and there is an Aldi just 5 minutes walk away which was really convenient. Clean, well kept, good location not far from the centre of town with free parking. I would highly recommend staying here.

Nothing, it was just grand!

Couldn't get into the lock box to get the keys out. Stood in the pouring rain for ages trying with the number provided. No answer on the mobile number provided so had to sleep on someone's floor instead. Luckily had family staying in the area. Was just what we needed after family funeral.

Appalling customer service from dishonest host. After having a good experience of renting this place over New Year 2021-22, we chose to rent again in late Dec for 2 nights.We agreed to make up our own beds as "his cleaner had gone on holiday". Freezing cold due to no heating. Next day:"Hi sorry I have just saw your message it’s a prepaid system the meter should have gas in as I toped it up before I left the previous guest may have used it all... If you take it to the shop at the top of the road and top it up with £10.... I will arrange to have some money sent back we don’t receive the payment until after your stay so will email you once we have and sort it out I’m really sorry about this usually we have it all sorted as my cleaner does all this I’m currently on holiday or else I would have come and sorted it out if you prefer to go to another place just let me know and i can arrange a refund" I added £10 to the gas. No refund after a few weeks. Follow-up emails ignored. Then 18th Jan: "Hi ray yeah I can respond your paid £112 for your stay we receive £95 so unfortunately due to it being Christmas period and the fact that I still had to pay cleaning costs and electricity we decided unfortunately we can’t refund anything for the stay sorry about that Thanks Gary " When I asked about the gas he requested and got receipt and my bank details. Another few weeks pass.Hello 👋🏼 yes if you check your account the money has been sent over to you although I think you shouldn’t be getting it as you made sure and used every single penny you put into the meter which was strange and must have took some doing please do not message me again regarding this Thanks Gary"

Nicely decorated, well located, the Christmas tree was an added touch

The gaz is on a top up meter. We run out on Christmas day and had to spend one night with no heater. We did as the owner said and switched it off every time we left. When I contacted him, instead of just saying sorry that he couldn't top up, he said we couldn't have done what he said. Perhaps the top up was just enough for night time heating. A few extra bits would have been nice such as a dish sponge, a dryer rack since there is a washing machine. Also a few hooks to hang the towels. The rail for the shower curtain is not fixed all along so we didn't use it for fear of it falling done. Overall would be happy to rent again in the summer.
