My husband and I went up to be close to the family who is staying at another house less than 2 miles away for the location was perfect for us. My cousin’s daughter was graduating from App State. We used it as a honeymoon getaway and enjoyed our stay and especially the chickens in the hot tub. We found Boone and blowing rock to be great places to shop and eat. The host is especially communicative. We had everything we needed, and it was a very nice relaxing long weekend.

Nicely decorated. Very nice furniture. TV's everywhere. Kitchen is small but well designed. Everything you need. Outdoor and indoor fireplaces were lovely to use. Hot tub is conveniently located next to the large deck. The only negative is the single bathroom, which would only be a problem with a larger group. The heaters and fireplace were more than enough to keep us toasty warm while we watched it snow. If we were still cold there were tons of blankets available to use. Highly recommend this well appointed house.

Well equipped, with lots of things for the kids to do. Cary was great to work with, answering all our questions so quickly. We would definitely stay again! The kids loved sledding on the property. Thanks for providing the sleds!

I needed a couple days of relaxation and the house was absolutely perfect for what I was looking for. Everything was super clean, well kept and prepared for me. The furniture was extremely comfortable which can be an issue in other rentals. The owner left some popcorn, cookies and bottle water as a small gift to greet us with. The hot tub was great on every level! My favorite part of the house though was the outside fireplace! It was just super cool and perfect place to relax at night after the hot tub. Overall one of my favorites stays and I’ve stayed in a lot of places in this area.

This house was absolutely perfect getaway for our family. Our kids loved the hot tub and nightly s’mores at the outdoor fireplace. They got a real kick out of the free range chickens that greeted us when we arrived. The cabin was quaint, clean, and family friendly. The location was convenient to Boone and outdoor adventures but far away enough to enjoy the evening free of noise and light pollution. The host was amazingly helpful and responsive. We can not wait to come back!

This is a wonderful place to stay. Beautiful views, minutes from Boone and not far from the slopes. We had everything needed and wished we could have stayed longer.

We absolutely loved our stay at this property. Cary provided us with everything we could need and was so kind in helping us find things to do and see nearby. The area is quiet and feels secluded even though you are only minutes from downtown. The decorations, the cleanliness, the fireplace and the new hot tub were all so nice!! Hoping to stay here again in the fall to see the leaves change!

My husband and I got lucky finding this gem at the last minute for an impromptu getaway for our anniversary. The house was exactly as described, and perfectly cleaned. They recently added a hot tub to the property, which is what originally got our booking. It was fabulous! And if you turn the lights out, you can see so many stars! The owners communicated with us from beginning to end, no issues. The house is convenient to Boone, with lots to do. We highly recommend Bella's of Boone (they also have a location in Banner Elk). Best Italian food we've ever had. Don't pass this one up!

Nice place. Great amenities like hot Tub and snow sleds. Nice large yard for unlimited snow balls which were needed for the snow ball fight. Owner was very helpful for every aspect of the trip when we had questions.

Very cute and cozy cabin, off the grid yet close enough to shopping and dining. Host was very easy to work with. Would definitely stay here again and refer this listing to family and friends!

We had an amazing stay at Cary’s place for a long weekend! The house was very well kept up and had such a cozy feel, but also had more than enough room for us and the kids. Super convenient to King Street and campus. Will definitely plan on booking again for our next trip!

Beautiful home that was clean, welcoming and comfortable while being stylish and beautifully furnished. Great location, close to many trails and to downtown. The outdoor fire pit was wonderful and so relaxing. We will definitely come back for another getaway to the mountains. Much needed recharge for our family.

We rented the Bird's Nest property for a quick weekend getaway to Boone. We had heard so many good things about Boone, but had never made the trip. It was amazing!!! The Bird's Nest is about 10 minutes from historic downtown Boone, and the drive out to it is through a picturesque winding mountain road that overlooks the mountains and valleys for miles. On property, there's plenty of space to stretch and wind down for the day, with ample parking and seating. The outdoor fire pit was perfect for s'mores, and the landscaping/grounds were meticulously maintained. Inside, there's a really nice first floor master suite, and upstairs sleeps 4 easily, plus there's a pull out trundle bed as well. The entire house looks freshly redone top to bottom. Everything was exactly as expected. We've stayed at plenty of other properties, and I can say this one was well taken care of. The house is convenient to pretty much anything around Boone. We visited Grandfather Mountain, hiking trails, breweries, and were downtown every evening. It always felt just close enough to be convenient, but far away enough to be able to escape back to some serenity at the end of the day. I'd highly recommend!!!
