Breathtaking view. Comfortable small inn. Carla and Marcelo always gracious and helpful. Enjoyed rail travel to Ruega and Pinhaio.

Best to have a car. I took cabs twice a day to rail line to explore the valley and towns. Still worth my 3 days there.

Carla & Marcelo are the best hosts, even though I was super late for check in, Carla welcomed me as if I were completely on time. The property is beautiful & Marcelo provided so much advice on things I should see & do during my stay - I definitely have to come back!

this is a beautiful property in a lovely location and the staff are amazing. Marcelo and his team/family cannot do enough for you, they helped us so much with our plans as this was our first visit to this wonderful part of Portugal. The food is also an amazing treat , which sits alongside a warm, friendly welcome and superb hospitality. A BIG thank you

The Douro region itself is absolutely amazing to begin with and Quinta das Susandas is simply gorgeous. It was a great find and it was awesome to learn about its interesting history as well. Views are stunning, rooms are clean and spacious, food is fresh and delicious. Marcelo and staff will do absolutely anything to make you feel welcome and comfortable. I can honestly say they provided the best service I've ever encountered. Would definitely recommend and will certainly come back some day!

Location was really good, the host was really nice and at disposal. Only thing was that one of the pool was not that clean.

Loved the meals the served. Everyone farm to table. The views and location were absolutely gorgeous. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Highly recommend

Breakfast was great, as well as all the meals. Food was superb. The waitresses were polite.

The room: it was unbalanced towards other rooms and I did not get that info previously via booking (no bathroom, no tv, no chair) When reached one of the owners for clarification, reply was unsatisfying and follow-up was done.

Carla, the owner, is super nice and we basically had the entire place to ourselves! We had reallly good food, good wine and the two pools were a delight. I truly recommend to stay here for a super relaxing couole of days without a worry in the world.

We were treated like family! What a warm welcome ❤️ the location and the property are stunning. The Quinta is very homey and warm. The living area is wonderful, has a beautiful view and a beautiful fireplace. Marcelo and his mother were so accommodating! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

The property is beautiful and it is a place where you can really connect with the nature. The landscape is beautiful! Marcelo and his mother were super kind and preparing amazing breakfasts for us! A lot of the products for breakfast are homemade or from the garden. Highly recommended !!

We liked everything !

Our stay at the villa was high above our expectations. The service from Marcelo and other staff members was excellent and they where always available if you needed some help or wanted to order refreshing drinks. The villa is in a beautiful location with an incredible view from the room and from the infinity pool. You can have an relaxed stay there. The rooms and the common area are very clean and cosy. The closest small village Mesao Frio is only 10 minutes away with the car, 25 minutes to Peso de Rague and 50 minutes to Pinhao if you want to have a more active day and see some villages/towns in the area of Douro Valley. We had breakfast, lunch and diner during our stay. Breakfast includes nice homemade cakes. Diner and lunch were also very delicious, good portions, simple, but very delicious homecooked meals. We would definitely come here again!
