Clean apartment with comfy beds. Very clean. Nice terrace to have breakfast on. Two toilets. Good shower

Very poor communication with host. We arranged an early check in but this was not honored. No instructions sent about key safe.

No dryer, but it was so hot outside, I just hung my clothes to dry.

I didn’t get the breakfast but the owner and his beautiful friend who spoke English helped me get a SIM card for my phone and showed me around Fort-de-France. They were extremely nice and welcoming. This is by far the best place I have ever stayed. I will definitely come here again!

We had expected Villa Aumis to be wonderful and it was less than that. First, thanks to an earlier guest’s review, we ignored an offer of paying 50 Euros for early check-in and transportation from the ferry. (Since no one on the property signs any communication, it is hard to say who “offered” us this opportunity. I think that person should be fired.) For those not conversant in French, communication can be difficult, since I don’t believe Phillippe speaks any English. I also had problems with internal steps, because for those on the turn, there is nothing to hold on to. Further, the bottom two steps are very different riser heights than the others, so I felt I had to be super alert whenever I was going up or down. The facilities themselves are spacious and well built. But things seem to be run on a tight margin for profit. Small things, but never giving you the feeling of graciousness, openness, and welcome. Some examples, there is no soap for the shower. Sure, I can buy one for a couple of Euros, but that is not nice to find out once you are in the shower. When I asked about more coffee pods since we were there for four days and there were two of us, I was told that a total of four pods was all the cadeaux he would provide. Well, when we found the proper brand for his coffee maker, they were sold in packets of 25. Far more than we needed. In any case, we either couldn’t figure out how to use the coffee machine or it was broken. Several other things are in need of replacement in the place. Specifically, the corkscrew and one of the two bar stools (it sinks to a low level when sat on), and probably the coffeemaker. Certainly not a bad place, but we didn’t feel it was up to a stellar rating.

I liked was it was close enough to town, walking distance and its close enough to the road, coming off a bus.

The check in and out times were ridiculous, these need to be revised. We had to pay extra to stay a few hours more. Place was not swept it seems. Honestly don't know why check is between 3-9 if the place wasn't "prepared". A few minor disappointments but all in all it was a good stay
