Very nice hotel restaurant, open for public. Food quality and service were excellent! We were there out of the peak season and had no problem to park in the property owned parking (you get a remote control on the reception). There is no 24/7 reception, but you have a key for the side doors and can enter/exit as you wish. Hotel is located in the city centre 100m from tourist information centre and walking distance from all important locations.

It would be useful to mention that the bathroom in this particular room is detached (just across the hole). It is not shared bathroom, but due to the building restrictions (historical building), it was not possible to have a bathroom in the room. It was not a problem, just needs to be explained beforehand. Apparently, all other rooms have a bathroom in the room as a standard.

Perfect location in the center, large apartment. Very nice restaurant, with good food and an interior, and breakfast with traditional Bulgarian food.

It is not a minus at all, but the stairs to the rooms are a bit difficult if you are big or with high heels. ;-)

The location was really good, private parking, beautiful building and renovation works done.

Noise coming from the restaurant and street. Bathroom was outside of the room connected with a small hallway that also led to another room. Although the front door to the hallway could be locked, the staff came knocking on the door late at night saying we need to keep it open so other guests could enter to get to their room. Not very pleasant!

I stayed at the hotel during my business trip and was pleasantly surprised by its superb facilities. The staff was very helpful and well mannered, making sure everything was OK for us. The room was spacious and very clean. We had a lovely evening at the hotel's restaurant. The dinner and the breakfast were absolutely delicious! I highly recommend Соколови къщи, and we would definitely stay there during our next trip to Gabrovo.

the bathroom is not in the room, it’s private, but you need to walk out the hallway to go there. a little disappointing. the staff speak poor English unfortunately, they might come across as rude, it might be a language barrier. no minibar

New building, so most things were new. Parking was good as well.

The bathroom cabin was leaking on the floor and the bathroom smelled of damp the whole time (even at arrival, before using it). Staff was grumpy. There was no choice for breakfast, you get some fruit (watermelon, cucumber, tomatoes) and a pancake/omelette, and no bread.

We found this place in a hurry without any research and were nicely surprised by the interior, the friendly staff and the amazing food in the restaurant. We definitely recommend it!

The hotel was renovated and very clean.

First our reservation was made wrong and instead of a deluxe room with dining table and a sofa, we were given small double bedroom and they have been informed we are travelling with a baby and we need space. The staff was not helpful at all and they didn't even apologised for the mistake they made. The restaurant is just below the rooms and there have been a lot of noise and drunk people until 1am, so definitely this must be included in the hotel information, especially if you travel with a child. Lastly i needed to look for someone from the staff for 10 minutes, so we can check out. Definitely not recommending this place, it is just not suitable for families and for people which want to take a rest.
