This was our first time in the Outer Banks. This home exceeded our expectations! When we first got there, we noticed how clean everything was. The location was perfect. Just steps away from the beach and the pool. This house was fully loaded with games, bikes, sand toys, beach chairs, and umbrella. It was nice not having to pack all of those much-needed necessities and travel with them. My family all said that I did a GREAT job picking this year's destination. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thank you for allowing our family to spend a week in your beautiful cottage!

Jose and Jennifer’s Whale Cottage offered a pleasant and relaxing beach vacation for our family. Walking distance to white sandy beach, clean and well kept beach accessories to borrow, bikes to explore with and a pool & hot tub for the cooler days. The house has a kid friendly layout, super clean and well kept, multiple laundry units, fully stocked kitchen with all the utensils you need to cook and clean. The host’s are very accommodating, responsive, let us check in early and offered for us to extend our trip (which we did). The Whale cottage is a perfect place for families to come and enjoy all of what OBX has to offer!!

We had a wonderful time at the Whale Cottage. The house was pristine with lots of space and a great layout for family. We loved the multi-level decks with private access off each of the rooms and the ocean view off the main level. The two master suites were fantastic with spacious bathrooms. Jennifer and Jose were excellent hosts with fantastic communication throughout our stay. We never had a need to ask a question as the instructions were thorough. The location was peaceful with easy access to the beach and near grocery stores and other activities. Wonderful hosts and a definite 5-star experience. We hope to return when we are in the OBX again soon.

The place was perfect for our group!

Our stay with 3 kiddos, including an infant was great. The property had everything we needed (high chair, toys, games, etc.) and was an easy walk to the beach. Our 5 year old loved the idea of the retro arcade but wound up enjoying foosball just fine! We're already planning our next visit with family/friends! Definitely recommend this property for large gatherings or family get-togethers.

We were looking for the perfect winter getaway for a long weekend, and we found it! The Whale’s Cottage is beautiful, even bigger and brighter and nicer than the pictures. The kitchen has EVERYTHING you could ever want (we especially enjoyed the waffle maker). It was a super cold weekend, but the heater worked great and we appreciated the extra blankets. And for the days when the weather was awful, we enjoyed the foosball table, arcade, plethora of board games, and cooking tools. The house felt like a home, not a rental. The hosts are so helpful and kind, too. I imagine this house is terrific in the summer, with its proximity to the beach and Jockey’s Ridge and community pool. But it really shines as a winter getaway when you need a quick escape from the dreariness of January! The home was loved by children and adults alike.

The Whale Cottage exceeded all of our expectations! Upon arrival we were surprised with the generous welcome gift and immediately noticed that the home was in tip-top shape. The two large master suites provided ample privacy for our group. I loved the game room with the vintage arcade game and foosball table. Who knew Frogger was so difficult ... lol. When the weather was agreeable we made our way to the beach which is only 1-2 minute walk. The cottage is conveniently located to many attractions, grocery store and hospital. I would give this place six stars but there are only five.

Stay was excellent. The house was immaculate, easy to check-in, water pressure was perfect, and water was hot 😁. Communication was very quick, easy and polite. And location was perfect - near numerous restaurants, gas stations, shops, and the beach was just a short walk. Would definitely recommend.

This home was everything described and more. Everything you could possibly need was there, the host was incredibly friendly and very communicative, and the location was amazing! We had an awesome time here and would definitely stay again!

The Whale Cottage is awesome! We enjoyed our stay so much. Great communication with the owners and there was a gift waiting when we arrived. The house is beautiful, clean and has anything you could ever need. The kitchen is more equipped than my own at home. We just stayed for a quick weekend off season so we didn’t use much, but it’s all there if needed. We really appreciated the soaps and paper products provided. It allowed us to show up for our quick stay and not have to pack anything. The beds and linens were all very comfy as well. Just a short walk to the beach access was also very convenient. I hope we can come back for a longer stay!

We had a great long weekend at The Whale's Cottage. The house was the perfect size for 2 families with 5 kids combined to share. The adults were comfortable in the two King suites with attached bathrooms. The kids loved the bunk bed room with the hot tub right outside their door. The game room in the basement was a hit for our two boys! Easy walk to the beach. You do have to cross one main road to get there. The shower in the car park was super helpful for showering sand off the kids. The community pool is right outside the home and very convenient for use. The hosts were easy to get in touch with and great to work with.

The Whale Cottage was perfect for our family getaway! The home was beautiful and CLEAN. The kitchen was stocked with everything you could possibly need. We didn't have the best weather for going to the beach but the walk over is very short and easy. Definitely recommend!

Hosts were very accommodating. The condo was clean and well stocked with amenities. Loved our stay!

We visited in September with family, and my main fear was that the house would not be clean. Thankfully, the house was SPOTLESS when we arrived! We were even surprised with a Hot Tub that was brand new! The location was great, only a few steps to the beach. If you visit after September 4th (I think) the community pool is closed, which wasn't a huge deal for us. There were plenty of beach towels, beach chairs, umbrellas, etc. We would definitely stay here again!

My family and I had an amazing long weekend at The Whale Cottage! Wish we could have stayed longer! The house was in a great location…close to the beach, the pool, restaurants, groceries and shopping. It was super clean yet cozy and comfortable with plenty of room - we loved having coffee in the morning or an evening cocktail on one of the many decks. The kitchen had everything we needed and more. We had plenty of beach chairs, boogie boards and beach toys. Thank you Jose and Jennifer for being on top of all communication, which made everything so effortless and easy. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this beach house!

The Whale Cottage is absolutely amazing! Super, super clean, which we hugely appreciated. The home is spacious, comfy, and has great amenities. We really enjoyed the comfy Adirondack chairs and huge connect 4 out on the deck. We also enjoyed the foosball table and retro arcade games. The welcome bag of amenities was a very nice touch that we appreciated. The proximity to the beach was fantastic. The pool is very busy but one can find it empty at certain times by checking, as it’s able to be seen from the house. Thank you so much, Jose and Jennifer, you’re amazing hosts and we will definitely be back!

We had a wonderful week at the Whale Cottage. We have stayed in many different houses in different locations and these hosts go way above and beyond to create a comfortable house. From the coffee bar, welcome gifts, plethora of books (kids and adults), indoor games, outdoor games, the list goes on….Jose and Jennifer put so much thought into making their property top notch. The house was extremely clean and well appointed with every kitchen gadget imaginable. The hosts provided an awesome guide to the area which included places to eat and things to do while visiting the area. It was a fantastic experience from beginning to end and we are looking at their other properties because we trust them so much! Thank you thank you!!

We loved our stay! I took my family (2 kids) as well as 3 grandparents and 1 aunt. The house was beautiful and the owners really go above and beyond from welcome baskets, to gift cards, and even texting you throughout the stay to see if they can help at all. We had my 1 1/2 year old daughter with us and the listing said there was a baby gate. There was in fact a baby gate but it was not wide enough to block the top of the staircase (leading from the living area to 3 flights of stairs). When I texted the owner to ask if there was an extension I was unaware of it’s location he not only replied but told me if we needed to buy one to make our stay easier he’s reimburse us if we left the gate there. When I didn’t buy a gate he asked for the measurements of the staircase so he could buy one to provide to the best guests who needed it. The house was extremely clean and well stocked. The access to the beach was simple and definitely within walking distance. The pool is basically at the end of the driveway! Loved the house and the effort the hosts put in. Definitely recommend!

We had 2 families in this house and there was plenty of space for everyone and the 4 kids to play and the adults to still have their own space as well. Great proximity to the pool and beach and house was exactly as pictured! Owners were very responsive and answered all questions!

Jennifer and Jose were there for my family when we were suffering a nightmare vacation on another property owned by a major OBX renter that was horrifying. In literally 2 minutes they responded to our request (including a unique accommodation), for immediately renting their property, same-day, 6 hours before usual check in. After a quick phone call, they had cleaning crew immediately ensure property readiness and move us in. We were blown away by the cleanliness, the amenities, the bedrooms, and even the fresh scents, high quality sheets and towels, and other things. Amazing games and furniture on the premises completed the perfect finish to our vacation. This was an amazing stay and Jose and Jennifer responded to every text almost instantly. Would give them 6 stars out of 5 if it were possible. Thank you for making our stay perfect and ending the vacation on a high note!

Went with friends on a fishing trip for the weekend. The house was fantastic and had everything that we needed for ourselves and our wives. Enjoyed a cup of coffee on the large top deck and played games in the nicely equipped game room. We took full advantage of the beverage fridge in the entertainment room which made it easier for us to hang out there. I highly recommend this beach house for all seasons!

Great place! beach access is just 2 mins walk, so it was perfect. plenty of outdoor furniture, kitchen came with everything that we need, definitely had room for the number of guests listed in the description. Jennifer and Jose are really friendly and very responsive. will definitely book the place again.

Spacious house, fully furnished. Had much more than we needed. Would recommend to anyone heading into this area. Hated to leave!

The house was well stocked and very clean. We had great communication with Jose, who was very welcoming, and gave us great ideas for our trip. We had lots of room to spread out. The community pool could not be any closer and the beach was just steps away. I would recommend this property to families is a Nags Head. Five stars.

The place was very nice and communication was great! It was clean, close to the beach and had the most well-stocked kitchen I've ever seen at a rental. There was lots for our kids to do inside on the cold rainy day we were there. My only disappointment was that the tubs in the master suites were indeed Jacuzzi brand, but didn't have any jets, they were just soaker tubs.

Outstanding hosts who went above and beyond to accommodate us on a holiday at the last minute. Absolute professionals.

This house is amazing! It comfortably housed my family of 10. It was spotless and it was absolutely the best equipped rental we have ever stayed in. The game room in the basement is a winner for anyone who has kids little or big including an arcade games machine. It lives like a beautiful home with decks and porches off every room. Everything you need for the beach and outdoor activities is provided including beach towels, chairs and bikes. I high recommend it! Thanks to Jennifer, Jose and "CornejoRentals" for a wonderful visit.
