The rental, the space, the setting and the hosts were all and more that we could have hoped for. It was pretty amazing to wake up and look out the windows straight onto the redwoods, to sit out on the back deck and listen to and watch the many birds while gazing skyward at the treetops, and to take an early morning walk and see deer grazing and a very young coyote also on its morning walk.
The space was well equipped and met all our needs for food prep. Mike was very helpful and very responsive. The written information he and Kate provided was descriptive and very helpful: Restaurants, (including their personal reviews and recommendations), nearby hiking trails, beautiful destinations to drive and hike to and many destinations for arts and entertainment. It was a quiet, welcoming, and beautiful setting… Grateful to have found it, for our time there, and for such great hosts.

MV Homebase is an incredible property nestled in the towering trees of Marin County, yet close to town, hiking, and so much more! The studio is covered in windows with views for days, the kitchen has everything you need, and the rest of the home truly provided the perfect getaway for peace, reflection, adventure, and relaxation. Mike and Kate are AMAZING hosts!!!

Our family of 5 (kids 17, 15, and 11) had the best stay in this fabulous rental. It may be the best-equipped vrbo we’ve stayed in and we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay and plenty of space to spread out. We enjoyed walking the stairs and pathways to downtown Mill Valley, exploring local trails, and the short distance to Sausalito, Muir Woods, and San Francisco. Mike was a great host with lots of helpful suggestions for the area and great communication. If we ever find ourselves in the area again (and we hope we do) we would love to stay again.

We loved our stay! The accommodation was perfect. The beds were extremely comfortable and balcony in the woods was heaven.

We took our kids to San Francisco for 4 days (a very busy few days!) and then moved onto Mill Valley where we were able to decompress and unwind in the beautiful tranquility of this property. You feel as though you've gone to a different state! We walked into the condo and were greeted with wine, sparkling cider for the kids, and chocolate! So kind! The unit is gorgeous and has a great location. We were able to visit Point Reyes & Sausalito easily. Great restaurants, walkable (although steep), and Mike was amazing! Would definitely stay here again if in the area.

I grew up in Mill Valley and loved being in the trees! Traveling with a toddler made the convenience of the pack&play and washer-dryer in the house a huge benefit !

Very Quaint condo and area!
We stayed at Mike’s condo for two nights during a trip to San Francisco. It was lovely! There were large windows for the natural light to filter in and lovely views of the forest, trees, and deer. Mill Valley was such a quaint area with lots of shops and things to do. We highly recommend staying here!

We stayed here to enjoy visits to San Francisco, Muir Woods and other areas near Mill Valley. It was the perfect location. The home was clean and well stocked and all of the instructions were clear. We very much appreciated the small details that personalized our stay. We would stay here again if in the area!

Great stay in Mill Valley. Mike was a thoughtful host and he put a lot of thoughtful touches to make the guest experience as pleasant as possible. Beautiful wooded area, but lots of narrow and windy roads to access the property. The suite itself was clean and was a good size for our little family of 3 to stay for a few days.
