We were thrilled with our stay at Forest Retreat and we will certainly be back whenever we need to be in Victoria. Shena had provided so many thoughtful touches around the place that were most useful and appreciated. The kitchen was well stocked with basics, including foil, parchment, and saran (which are often not available), and sharp food prep knives! (a rare occurrence indeed in our experience with staying in self-contained suites - the knives are usually too dull to cut anything). Loved that there were extra towels and tea towels on hand ... just in case. So many times I take these things myself (when driving to a destination), knowing that you can never count on having everything you need at the rented accommodation. Not so at Forest Retreat - definitely had everything we needed! Bed was super comfy. Back yard was a peaceful oasis. Shena and family (including Guinness!) were very friendly, considerate, and helpful. Communications, and indeed all the instructions and labels in the suite were excellent. We have already told our friends and neighbours up island about this wonderful place, which makes an ideal base for exploring Victoria, the Saanich Peninsula, or Sooke .... or a just a lovely quiet spot to stay when needing to be in Vic for whatever reason. We will be back for sure ... definitely tons to explore near there and many lovely hikes.

We had a wonderful stay here with our two young children. The house is well equipped and furnished to a high standard and very clean. The additional bedding, fans, snacks, washer and tumble dryer were a great help!
The location is great, near enough to local shops if you want anything but far enough away to feel secluded and private. Being so close to the woods and walks was great.
The host was wonderful, checking in and out was a breeze and communication very quick, personable and helpful.

Easy check in. Sauna was great! Felt like a quiet, and safe neighborhood. Comfy bed. A couple dishes weren’t 100% clean when we arrived but otherwise we had a great stay.

5 stars plus. We loved the location backing on to Thetis Lake Park. Accommodation is exactly as advertised. Excellent location with easy access to Victoria and many surrounding attractions. The suite had everything we needed and more, Host was welcoming and easy to communicate with. We only wish we would have booked a couple more nights!! We look forward to returning!

The forest retreat was perfect! Very clean, cute suite with everything you need. A lovely sun room and cozy outside sitting area to enjoy the sun, birds and trees. Comfortable bed abd very quiet at night. The host Shena was easy to contact and very responsive. Was no problem to have my adult daughter come to visit and cook breakfast together. The nearby trails were gorgeous for a walk.

This place was beautiful, welcoming and comfortable. When we first got there, the first thing I noticed was how fresh and clean it smelled. The big windows let in lots of natural light when the blinds/curtains were open, and the view of the forest out back really made it feel like a retreat. We were literally steps away from the walking path around Thetis Lake, which was wonderful! The host was easy to communicate with, and checked in after our first night to make sure everything was good. Would definitely recommend this beautiful spot!

Enjoyed our stay at Shena’s forest retreat. She was very attentive and the place was exactly what we needed.
We were in many events downtown and the drive was about 20 minutes from downtown where we were going, so it was fairly good for location for us.
The Thetis lake trails are easily accessible (100-150 steps away from the property) and are a must walk. Having such a nice walk so close was such a treat.
We would for sure stay there again. Great spot. Thanks Shena!

My husband and teenaged son and I had a wonderful time in this immaculate, spacious, quiet property. It was walking distance to the lake, coffee shop and wood fired pizza restaurant. The owners have paid such attention to details, such as the handmade soaps, coffee/tea bar, and luxurious blankets. The sunroom was a lovely place to enjoy a morning coffee or read later in the day. The backyard over looks the forest, so it is peaceful and calming. I highly recommend this property for a couple or family with one child.

Perfect for our needs. Well equipped in all respects. Having never lived with people above us we found the occasional noise from the floors above distracting, but on the plus side it only occurred for a few hours in the evening and was all quiet when we retired at 9:00 PM.

This was a great spot! Plenty of privacy in a nice little neighborhood with a sweet sitting area overlooking Thetis Woods. We went all directions during our stay and this was convenient to everything. Shena was super responsive and the place had everything we needed.

This home was tastefully decorated and super clean. Well supplied and a welcome package. I felt very safe here. Backed onto a large network of trails at Thetis Lake. Close to shopping and restaurants. Friendly and energetic host. Lovely outdoor seating area and scenery. Wifi was excellant. I had such a relaxing holiday and will return.

Everything was great and accurate as advertised. Place was super clean and had everything I needed. Interaction and communication with on site host were easy, efficient and helpful. Location was great for me. Bed is super comfortable. House rules were clear, precise and easy to follow. Outdoor space was a bonus. Parking was great. Safe, quiet, residential neighborhood. Shena was a warm and welcoming host and their home is in a wonderful location. We enjoyed lounging in their charming yard to the sound of the soothing water fountain overlooking a grove of arbutus trees. The unit was very clean, and Shena created thoughtful details throughout...including artfully folded towels; kids books & toys; and even personalised signage welcoming our family. The attention to detail was much appreciated and made us feel so welcome! Thank you for creating a relaxing hideaway, Shena. We hope to return! :)

The suite was perfect for my daughters and myself to stay for our Victoria getaway. It has everything we needed, just like my little one said:" it feels like we are home!" It is very close to shopping centers, nearby lake and ocean beaches. Very convenient for travelers who are not familiar with the area. The host was very nice and thoughtful, easy communicate and answer questions promptly. Also loved the family dog who came visited us during our stay. He was very friendly! I would love to come back again when we come back to visit!

Shena has done a wonderful job making this an utterly charming and homey place to stay with lots of little amenities to make your stay more enjoyable. Thanks to the backgarden and the sunroom there is always a spot to relax no matter what the weather. It's a lovely spot to get away from the city noise while still being very close to shops while not being far from Victoria. Definitely recommend!

Stove and frig was not ideal and could be improved and cookware and dishware was below par. The bed was too low and uncomfortable for seniors. The outside gardens were excellent and relaxing. Overall our stay was good

Very clean, beautiful suite. Nicely decorated. Well stocked with all the necessities. Some very lovely treats were supplied.
But, Way to many rules. I don’t think we should have to empty the garbages before we leave. We did pay for cleaning after all. Also, the Wi-Fi went off at midnight until 6 AM. What if you get up in the middle of the night because you can’t sleep and you want to play games on your computer? Unfortunately, unregistered guests were not permitted to visit. On the whole it was a good visit.

We lucked out and had fantastic weather for the time we were here. Close to many trails and amenities. The suite was very comfortable and enjoyable. It was nice to sit out on the little patio both in the morning and evening. Shena was very pleasant to deal with - no issues with anything at all. Thanks for the little snacks! This lovely suite backs on to Thetis Lake Park and is the perfect place for a tranquil getaway. Step outside and you are surrounded by nature, a 2 minute walk and you have entered the park trails. The suite itself is perfectly appointed. The owners have thought of everything and more. Highly recommend.

We had a great time in Victoria and this 1 bedroom suite was clean and quiet. It has its own entrance and the only thing shared is the driveway. Owner was great at communicating with us through messaging. Cozy little place with a forest behind you and close to amenities. Highly recommend!

This property was great and well kept, the owners were very helpful, we enjoyed coffee and beautiful views every morning. Our grandchildren were happy to play inside and outside.

Perfect home base for exploring the Victoria region
Extremely clean and spacious suite.
Very quiet and backing onto forested parkland with trail head steps from the door. A beautiful private setting 5 minutes from all amenities in Langford.
Fully equipped for short or longer stays.
The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable and we are quite picky. We had 2 nights of deep restful sleep.

Forest Retreat
We thoroughly enjoyed the clean and well equipped apartment for our 2 month stay. The entrance and sunroom is very convenient and a nice place to sit and there is room for storing of bikes and golf clubs. The apartment view overlooking the forested Thetis Lake park is private and relaxing. The host family is very friendly and left us to ourselves. Any questions to the host were answered promptly through email on the VRBO site. The bus stop is only a few meters down the street and my wife had no problems going to the mall in Victoria. Also close to several good restaurants, grocery stores and Costco within 2 kilometres.
