Came for a brief family visit & it was just what we were looking for. Clean, spacious! Loved that the bedrooms were on opposite sides of the house so everyone had their privacy. Quick walk to the water & had enjoyed feeding the outside cats 😊

The house was very clean and comfortable. The kitchen was very well equipped. The large front porch provided a nice place to sit, visit and view the bay. Palacios is a very small town and super quiet in the evenings. Fair Winds is perfect for visiting with family and friends and relaxing.

It was a very nice property to stay at. Looked exactly the same as the pictures shown. So close to the beach and not a far drive to Matagorda where we love to go as well.

Such a beautiful house with everything you need! Everything was clean and fresh, the beds and linens were so soft, over abundance of towels and supplies. I have nothing negative to say! We comfortably enjoyed our stay, and will definitely be back!

We grew up in Palacios & were so excited to be so very close to the water. We drove all over Palacios reminiscing about our younger days. It was great! The house is adorable, it was spotless, loved the porch. It was the perfect size. We will highly recommend it to family & friends. And Jan was super!!

Great place to stay.

We had the best stay here. The home is very well warm and inviting and equipped with everything you need for a great stay. We cooked most of our meals in and the kitchen was well suited and stocked for doing so. The location is great with the pier, park, and water just down the street. We hope to stay again the next time we visit.

The property owner is very sweet and accommodating, and the property was very clean, decorated nicely, and check in was a breeze. Definitely recommend for a nice relaxing retreat by the bay, and I plan on renting this property on our next visit if available!

It was a great location for getting to our favorite fishing spots.The house was clean and well stocked with dishes, cooking pots and pans, silverware, kitchen towels, etc.

All around great stay

We kept our sailboat in Palacios when we lived in the area, 20 years ago. We looked for and found this wonderful property, just a block from Matagorda Bay. It was beautifully restored by the current owner. It is a convenient location to walk to the park along the bay or to the small downtown area. It has a nice big porch across the front of the house, that is in the shade in the evening. It had one full size bed and one King size bed, each with its own private bedroom, along with a bathroom with shower/tub combo. The kitchen was well equipped but it does not have a dishwasher. That wasn't a concern since we went out to eat for most meals. The only draw back was the seating in the living room. There was a couch and 2 side chairs. It was fine for the two of us but might be a drawback for a larger group. It was decorated in a nautical theme but very tastefully done. There were games and puzzles available. We will definitely return to stay here in the future!

The place was clean and well stocked with dishes and utensils. The house was clean and well maintained. No bugs. The neighborhood cat slept on the porch and loves scraps. Close to the boat launch and fishing pier. Will stay there again.

I was so surprised at how stocked the place was! It had everything you needed. It was a great location,easy beach access. The house was updated and well manicured! Definitely my go to for next time!

This was the second time I stayed there I will be back in September for a 3nd stay I guess you can say I really like the location nobody to bother you very quiet the house is really nice.

Very welcoming and clean. The beds were super comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked however there are couple of restaurants within a few minutes walk if you did not want to cook. The bay was also just a few minutes walk. Everyone was very friendly. Needless to say we had a very relaxing time.

Enjoyed our week in Palacios. The rental was pretty accurately described .The location was a quiet street and you can see the ocean from a corner of the porch,overall,a good stay

What a pleasant stay at Fair Winds! Mornings with the sea breeze, a cup of sunshine, the Beacon, and the house cat to pet! Short walks to the beach, pier, coffee shop and of course J's Cravings!

We have stayed at this location on my occasions and are never disappointed. Location and size are awesome, the cleanliness and comfort are great, communication always great, we cannot say enough about this house. We will visit again soon.
