We love staying at Destin West! This was our second time and it was great… until Friday night when we had a HUGE cockroach appear in our room. It was disgusting and I couldn’t sleep knowing there was a possibility of more of those disgusting creatures being in our room. Incredibly disappointed!

The rental is near everything that we wanted to do and the pool area was amazing. We would definitely recommend this rental to our friends. The only negative thing was the kitchen had nats that were flying around bugging the **** out of us (no pun intended ). Once we resolved that our week was amazing.

Perhaps most concerning were the events of our last night. Having just returned from the beach and lazy river a complete stranger walked into our condo gaining access with a key code. He claimed he had the wrong room but that his code had worked and quickly backed out of the room. We contacted management who seemed unconcerned about the incident and kept trying to suggest it might have been a maintenance man (I’m certain he would have identified himself as such if that were the case). We were told we would be informed when they figured out what happened, we were never contacted. We spent our last night getting very little sleep worried for our safety and that of our young son.

My family and I enjoyed our stay at Destin west beach and bay resort. We lived the lazy river and having a grill right out the back door! Our last night there we had a leak under the kitchen sink and Julie was easy to get a hold of and had someone there within minutes to fix it! We would recommend this place to anyone!

This condo is in a nice location and I highly recommend it. The bunk beds(with DVD players) are a great plus for our younger children. We will definitely look to rent this one again.

I let my boys create the title, they are 6 and 10 at the time of this review. First trip to Destin, first experience as a family of four doing a major vacation with just us, first experience with VRBO, and first experience in a condo...and it was EPIC!!!! Of course, I read a ton of reviews online and consulted with friends that had already traveled to Destin to find a good spot to stay. I ended up at Destin West. Then came the time to make a big decision - ocean front or bayside condos...oh the joys! Of course, as a mom I wanted to wake up and see the ocean - but something kept telling me that my boys would LOVE the 700 foot lazy river on the bayside and my husband would love the fishing from the pier. I told myself that this trip was one to learn from, not be "perfect" at and so I decided to go with the bayside resort and see how I felt not having the ocean view when I woke up. The next decision I faced was finding a condo that worked for our family. We wanted to be on the ground level so that there was easy in/out access to the pools...our boys are old enough now that we knew we would be comfortable with them jumping in the lazy river while we enjoyed a drink on the deck that overlooked the lazy river and make trips (easily) back and forth to the room for a drink or snack rather than having to pack up everything and commit to being in a pre-plotted pool spot all day. It was DEVINE!!! This condo was the perfect location for us. We enjoyed a close-by heated pool that never got too busy, a lazy river right outside of our gate, and an easy walk out to the pier (which turned out to be such a cool fishing adventure each day). We had no idea that there was a jet ski rental place next to the pier - it's much cheaper than trying to rent one at the Harbor and I think safer b/c it's not the ocean jet ski rentals. We had an absolute BLAST playing with jet ski's for an hour in the bay and never felt like we were restricted. Then the walks over to the other resorts you have access to is sooooooo easy and so nice! Honestly, I loved that time we walked back to our resort the sand was knocked off! We enjoyed going to the beach and then hopping in the pool at the DestinWest Ocean Front resort (which you have access to) before heading back to our condo. Also, we made a day to get wrist bands from The Island resort, which you also have access to as a Destin West guest and they have a nice pool grill (which is not present at DestinWest properties) and rock pool!

Enjoyed our stay very much. The condo was just as pictured. Love it!!

Great place to take the family!!! Lots of pools, lazy river, amazing views and a short walk to a great beach!

We've been to this property before and were so excited to come back. We had not stayed in this unit before and it is our new favorite. Great ground floor unit with a wall straight out to the lazy river and right by the steps to get to the parking lot quickly. We will be back!

Property is just as pictured. The bunk room is super small but fine for kid’s. The patio and bbq area are perfect!! The lower unit is so convenient to the pool with no elevator hassles. Lol. The walk to the beach was no big deal to us and we did it several times a day. The beach is gorgeous white sands and very clean. Convenient to shopping, restaurants and the grocery store. Jet ski rentals are right next door and only $80 per hour (Destin is $125). We would stay in this unit again!! Thank you!!!! 💙�

Not enough tiiolet paper or paper towels for 4 people for a week. Would have been 2 more adults and a child if not for Corona virus. Also thought gas would have been included in rental. Never had to worry about getting a gas grill tank filled.

We thoroughly enjoyed Thanksgiving Week in Destin in L 01. The unit was comfortable and had everything we needed for a pleasant visit.

This property exceeded our expectations. What stood out the most was how clean and fresh it was. Everything was updated and modern. The couch was new, beautiful and sooo comfortable!! Loved the location also. BEAUTIFUL views. Definitely best place we have stayed!!

Let me start by saying if you’re looking for a place at the beach, this is definitely not what you’re looking for. We chose this condo for its proximity to the lazy river pool, and it met our expectations. We spent 75% of our time just floating our cares away. The bay is nice, and the pools are clean and well landscaped. We only ventured to the beach once. Once was plenty. It’s quite a trek, and not worth the effort to haul everything with us. Small and crowded private beach, but chairs are available to rent. My advice, is stay gulf side if you want to spend time on the beach. However.. if you want a relaxing and comfortable place to spend a few days, with great amenities, the bay side condos are perfect. Very clean, good mattress on king bed. The furniture isn’t the same as shown in photos, but still very nice. Well stocked kitchen. We don’t recommend the pizza place next door. Lots of good food nearby. We would definitely stay here again.

I loved our stay here. I will be back. The pools and lazy river was so relaxing. Having your own patio with a grill was great to keep from fighting the crowd.
