Charming, comfortable home in perfect proximity to everything we needed to be near. Host is amazing and made great recommendations of places to visit. So glad we booked!

Description of the house was spot on. Location was absolutely perfect and the backyard was perfect for our pups. Meri was great and super accommodating, if we visit Hickory again we would hope to stay here!

You can scroll down and see my other comments since I've been staying at Better Days Inn for months. I had a fire at my home and grateful I found this house. Cozy, comfortable, everything you need is there, close to great restaurants, stores, and entertainment. I stayed in the "queen" room and even ordered the same mattress and pillows for when I return to my home. And yes, my daughter said she would like to live there! I spent a lot of time on the wonderful wrap around porch and never in my 67 tears of life have I ever seen a chipmunk until my stay at Better Days. In the mornings while I would be sipping my coffee, there was one chipmunk that would come out on the side ledge of the front porch and I would sing to it. Believe it or not, I heard him say his name was Alvin. So if you have the opportunity to stay at Better Days, please tell him Pam says Hi!

Great house! Has everything needed for a pleasing stay. Super cool decorating and very comfortable furnishings. All is clean and fresh. Everywhere you look there's something beautiful. Handicapped accessible for me and our elderly dog with an outside entry ramp for us both and bathroom toilet and shower fixtures for me. Love the huge wrap around gated porch. Wonderful happy stay!

Overall, our experience at "Better Days Inn" in Hickory, NC was positive. Meri was wonderful to deal with and did her absolute best to accommodate our requests or needs. We could not have asked for better. The house served our purposes well, even when we had the family over to celebrate our granddaughter's graduation (14 people total). The closeness to Hwy. 127 made for extra road noise (which Meri warned us about) but did not cause us any real issues. The location is close to many amenities and an abundance of restaurant choices. The house is still in the midst of some remodeling, with some paint work, etc. still to be done, but this simply added to its charm and was not a problem at all.

So fortunate to have found this house. I had a fire at my home and am waiting on repairs. Upon entering "Better Days", I felt welcome! It's cheerful and there's something interesting almost everywhere you look. Very clean and smelled fresh. Loved all the ceiling fans. I could go on and on about all the thoughtful pleasantries. I spent a lot of time on the porch and have never seen so many kinds of birds and 6 cardinals at one time. Also there are a few semi hidden surprises outside. Very peaceful. I highly recommend Better Days to folks of all ages! (I need to have a hip replacement and currently dependent on my daughter for help so I hope she emptied the fridge and cleaned any messes properly!) Thanks to the owner!

Meri was great dealing with. Minor issues. My golden retriever oved laying on the front porch. I'm a very light sleeper my one drawback was the major road and noise right behind the house. It wouldn't stop me from renting again. Thank you John M

We were in Hickory NC to attend an event at Lenoir-Rhyne U and extended our stay to explore a bit of the area. The rental location and accommodations did not disappoint and Merianne was quick to respond to my messages. Hands-down, our favorite part of the house was the spacious porch and comfy beds, but honestly the house and neighborhood are as described by the owner! Downtown Hickory is small, but bustling with several restaurants, breweries, and small shops. We were also within an easy drive to antique shops, wineries, and Baker’s Mountain Park, if hiking is your thing.
