Great location and easy beach access, enjoyed the outdoor seating available on the back deck but nothing positive to say otherwise. I don’t recommend this place and will not be returning. Only one working ceiling fan in the living room plus only one TV. Wires hanging out of the ceiling fan and light in the upstairs living room. It took forever for the upstairs to cool down below 75 degrees. Overall extremely outdated and old in a way that nothing felt clean. Mold around bathroom floors and baseboards. There’s a terrible sewage/ bad water smell coming from the bathroom closest to the dining table. The carpets are in disgusting shape- rip them out !! We felt so gross walking on them. Uncomfortable mattresses, our backs are wrecked. No extra plug in fans for guests to use (every beach rental I’ve used has had some in a closet) The door to the gated area by the driveway needs to be fixed - it’s very hard to close and doesn’t close all the way. Same with the upstairs front porch - extremely difficult sliding door to open and close and lock. Challenging keypad/ lock system used to get in the house. Only one dresser in one of the bedrooms. I really hope this place is still a work in progress - there are a LOT of updates that should be made! I saw the price for peak season/ summer time for 2025 and wow- I’d never pay that for the current state of the interior of this house!!! I hope major updates are coming in the next few months.

I loved that the property was tucked back with both vacation and residence homes giving it a very relaxing atmosphere. All the neighbors were friendly and it allowed me to feel welcomed in that beach vibe/way of life. The home featured a very nice waterway behind it which did allow new kayakers the ability to explore but also allowed for greater exploration of the back Bay Area with an easy launch from the dock or yard ( we rented kayaks which made it was easy and fun) The way the fenced yard and back deck was set for dogs was perfect to ensure my dog had some freedom but not by the waterway so there was no worries about her jumping into the water (dog loves the water). The house set up inside was nice to allow privacy since we were vacationing with family and friends. The bedrooms were split between main living room and kitchen with each section of bedrooms having their own bathroom. The outside shower worked perfect and had both hot and cool water and was key in keeping the sand out of the house. The walk to the public beach access was an easy enjoyable walk each morning and evening with the dog (neighborhood was very dog friendly). The beach area was never crowded since the area was a short distance from the public parking and local store and at the end of Sandbridge (that area backs up to Navy Base) so very safe area with no through traffic with quiet streets for walking. Also there were bike racks by the beach access for anyone that preferred biking compared to walking. Overall, I would recommend it and good to stay there again soon.

This house was not rental ready. It was in the middle of a home improvement project with painters tape up in two rooms. The carpet was more brown stains than it was white and it was supposed to be white carpet. While the cleaners did the best they could the house was run down and grimy. The bed slats kept falling out while people were sleeping and the lawn was up to our knees (in the back). We tried to work with Vacasa for a refund or transfer but it was so time consuming getting handed off from one person to the other, long waits in between....and they weren't willing to do anything. We love sandbridge but felt like this house did not have a lot of reviews for a reason. People may be submitting them and they aren't getting posted. I am curious to see if this gets posted. I hope other families are better prepared for what to expect.

Sailor’s Rest was just what we were looking for. We loved the property. Enough space for everyone (5 adults, 3 kids and 2 dogs) to be completely comfortable. Fully equipped with anything we needed in the kitchen to get all the cooking done. It was very clean upon arrival but felt the floors were not swept, mopped, or vacuumed well. Which wasn’t a big issue seeing we had the supplies there to do it ourselves. Overall we enjoyed our stay and don’t have anything to complain about. It’s just a short walk to beach access. And close to almost everything else, gas station, restaurants, groceries, shopping centers, ect. We will definitely book this home again and with Vacasa!

We traveled from up to six hours away only to arrive to a dirty rental. We understand this home is pet friendly, which is what we look for when we book any rental, but the odor upon entry was rough. There was visible urine on the front of the loveseat and the carpet smelled horrible. One of the bedrooms had a bed with broken slats which made that bed very hard to sleep in. Another bedroom had sand in the sheets. The kitchen had food from previous renter's pets under the cabinet overhangs. Kitchen as a whole was dirty. The rental property management was contacted, they offered to send the cleaners. However, with such a short trip, one day left in our stay, and most of the cleaning completed by us, we didn't see the purpose. The home should've been thoroughly cleaned upon arrival. I asked for a refund of our cleaning fee and I was advising someone from the property rental management would be in touch--this never happened. The front sliding doors to the balcony had rain water seeping in causing water damage to the flooring in the living room. The living room has some drywall repairs and painting going on. It would have been nice to know this beforehand, so we did not spend our hard-earned money staying in someone else's repair zone. The dog run was a very nice addition. In conclusion, rent somewhere else. Lots of rentals and rental companies in this area. I would not recommend this location or this property management group.

very dated, minimally equipped kitchen - not even salt and pepper shakers. house actually moved on its stilts, carpets probably original ( like 1960's and not very clean), were told by locals that there are poisonous snakes in the canal off back of property

We loved the location the freshwater canal in the backyard brought us exciting sights a crane several fishermen and a couple kayaks we had 8 people and were very comfortable in the house set up. We always had hot water the short bike ride or walk to the beach is effortless. Beach appears private to the neighborhood we were there a week before season starts. At 8 am i could faintly hear the raising of the flag to the Star Spangled Banner at the Naval cadet training facility in the neighborhood

This property was a good place for a little weekend getaway. However a few things should be mentioned. The first night we got there the TV was hard to operate. After randomly pressing buttons for 30 minutes, we got it to work. The water pressure in the bathroom with the tub was nonexistent and there was a broken bed in one of the guest rooms. Also, the front door lock was a pain to deal with. With a little bit of more TLC, this property could be a 10/10 place. Overall experience was an 8/10.
