We thoroughly enjoyed our time away together at your place. Everything was wonderful. They have everything you need and then some. Tons of stuff to do for kids (games, beach toys, etc.) and lots of stuff within walking distance. We got to see the Dolphin Plunge while there and that was a fun experience for all! If you aren’t used to stairs, you are in for a workout but it comes with a beach house. Waking up to the sunrise and waves everyday made up for it 😉 The only con was the beds. Not sure if they were recently replaced but the 2 queens and king are very hard and uncomfortable. Bring an egg-crate if you need a softer bed. Other than the beds, we loved the house and our time there and would stay again and recommend it to others.

Our stay at Sweet Escape was absolutely amazing. This is our third time here in the Topsail/Surf City area and we really love it here. I will begin my review of the home by noting on Jamie’s true professionalism and courtesy throughout the entire booking process. He made everything so easy and was there to answer any of my questions. Now the home was one of the nicer ones my family and I have stayed in. Located in the heart of Surf City, you could basically walk to most of the amenities. My dad and I love to fish and it was really awesome to have the pier right beside us. The house itself was a real “gem”. It had plenty of space for big families, was very clean and neat, and was equipped with most of the basic necessities. I’m a grown man but a kid at heart so I really enjoyed the basketball game and foosball table. And last but not least, THE VIEW was the best part. Listening to the waves crash at night and in the morning was truly enjoyable. I recommend this property to anyone searching for a relaxing getaway. Thanks and great job!!~Eric

Sweet Escape was our home for a week and was absolutely perfect!! We loved how clean it was and it had everything from a coffee bar to a fully stocked kitchen to the most amazing view!! We had plenty of room for our group of 11 adults and were spoiled with a washer and dryer for those salt water swimsuits at the end of the day. Christina was lovely and was helpful throughout our stay for any questions or needs that we had!!! We will definitely be back!

This is a beautiful home, nicely updated and large enough to accommodate a big family. It is within walking distance to many restaurants and shops which is very convenient. The house is great for kids - mine especially liked the basketball game in their room. There are plenty of beach chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, sand toys, and towels - everything you need for the beach! The back deck has stunning views and is very private, another perk we enjoyed. The house was clean and the beds were comfortable. There are 2 washers and dryers to help you keep up with the laundry during your stay. The property manager was readily available and texted me the morning of our stay with her contact information if we needed anything. If you want to be close to everything in Surf City, do yourself a favor and stay here!

The property was clean, well stocked with essentials, and in a absolutely incredible location right on the beach! In addition to beautiful views and walkability to many restaurants, we appreciated that the house included beach towels & chairs as well as many household items like paper towels, laundry detergent, and shampoo. The property manager was very kind and helpful, too. Our family enjoyed our stay and we look forward to returning to Surf City!

The house was very clean with all the kitchen amenities you need, beach towels, games to play and beds are comfortable. Two washers and dryers are a luxury. I did notice beach equipment and baby equipment(high chairs and portable crib) but we did not need these during our stay. The house is centrally located in Surf City which is very convenient to walk to the grocery store, coffee shop and ice cream. The deck looking out over the ocean is very comfortable and gets a nice breeze. Having the main living area on the 3rd floor is nice since it has the best view and deck. You do need to be good with stairs to rent this house since bedrooms are on 1st and 2nd floors and living area is on third floor. The first floor does have a kitchenette with a full sized fridge which is helpful for storing additional drinks. The beach does get crowded since it is close to the public access so you need to claim some beach space early.

Had a great time at the Sweet Escape for the second time. House was clean with the best location. Walking distance to restaurants, grocery store, shopping and more not to mention the beach right out the back door. We hope to make it back again in the future.

This is a beautiful oceanfront home, it has everything you need to feel at home. Truly my favorite place! Very clean and lots of good details to feel you don’t need to go out to have fun it’s all in this fabulous home!

This house was absolutely perfect. My husband and I rented this house out with family to get married and it was everything we needed. There was things for the little ones to play with and later in the evening t everything’s in walking distance for restaurants and bars.

We stayed at Sweet Escape in mid-October for a long weekend with extended family. It was grandparents and two families with young kids. The house was the perfect size and set up - the adults slept on the main bedrooms on the middle floor and the kids slept on the lower level. We loved that two of the bedrooms had ocean views. The location could not be more perfect. We loved being right on the ocean. The house is also right next to the public access road, which made it easy to haul all our stuff from the car onto the beach without having to navigate through the house and stairs. Walking distance to lots of shops and restaurants. We were told the area gets pretty crowded and noisy during the peak seasons, but we were there during off-season and it was perfect. We loved the convenience of being so close to everything. Communication with the host was great. We got lots of communication leading up to our trip with tips and recommendations. There is also a manager on the island that very responsible and available to assist with our needs during our stay. The only minor issue we encountered was that we did see 3 cockroaches / water bugs during our stay but maybe that just comes with the territory of being near the water. Overall very pleasant stay. The house had everything we needed and we could not have asked for a better beach weekend!

We had a wonderful week and so glad we spent it here. It is in a perfect location for walking to get food, sweets and IGA. The views are beyond perfect from all of the decks and knowing that all of the essentials were provided was relief. Thank you for sharing this perfect vacation spot with us!

This property was perfection inside and out. If it had rained all week we still would have had a blast. The beach is right outside your door...and it's walking distance to EVERYTHING, including ice cream, coffee houses, gift shops, surf stores, grocery stores, jet ski rentals, a giant candy store and best of all a gormet donut shop that sells WARM homemade donuts! Safe, comfortable, and relaxing. Would definitely rent again!

Our family came from all over to reunite on the short vacation. The beach, the house, and the easiness of checking in were all perfect. Surf City is also very laid back and almost everyone we encountered was extremely friendly. Accessibility to the beach and the weather for us couldn’t have been better while we were there. We hated to leave!

Jamie’s place is amazing. The location is perfect. The view is perfect. The place is very clean and well maintained. Both Jamie and the property manager are extremely helpful and responsive. Will definitely come back.

Great spot, convenient to grocery store and restaurants in Surf City. We had a great time at this property and it was beautifully furnished. There were fantastic amenities within the property including beach chairs which we were able to use during our stay. We would come back here again, it was lovely.

PROS: Location, Views, Private Beach Access, Cleanliness CONS: LOTS of Stairs--because we're lazy (LOL), Hot tub was not working The house was clean, beds were comfortable, lots of room for everyone. There was plenty of board games, TV options, Great quality beach chairs & umbrellas. The weather was perfect! I highly recommend Sweet Escape! Owner was very quick to accommodate for hot tub issue. We had the best time!
