The house was beautiful and had plenty of room for all of us staying. It was close to New Buffalo, Three Oaks and Michigan City-all places we went to while there for the weekend. Marjolein was very easy to work with. We'll be back next year!

Our group of 11 (adults and kids) had a great family vacation at this property. It was exceptionally well equipped with cooking supplies, towels, toys, and items for the beach. The layout of the house is perfect for a large group. We hope to return next summer!

This is the best rental house we’ve ever had, as well as wonderful communication and support from the owners. The house is quite large with a really great layout that allowed for different places for hanging out at the same time. It’s full of character, warmth, attention to design and gorgeous art. The kitchen, yard, and deck were amazing. All 11 of us ate meals around the outdoor table. The kids loved the trails to the woods and low water. The road and train were a bit loud but we just closed the windows at night and it was no problem. The walk to the beach is just 5-10 mins and the beach is beautiful and pretty much empty. We went to the beach in town, to local restaurants and breweries, to two different nearby dunes, as well as a hikes in nearby parks. It was a great stay!

We stayed at the farmhouse for a family vacation and it truly felt like home. It was beautiful, spacious, artsy, and SO comfortable!! By the second day it felt like home!!! Thanks to our amazing hosts who provided this space for us. We all loved it!!!

We are an extended family group of 6 adults and 4 children. The Orchard Beach House had something for everyone and lots of nooks and crannies to occupy for together and alone time. The furnishings and decorations are fascinating with lots of games and books to fill in the times between the beach, exploring the area and playing or relaxing in the yard. The grandkids loved the saucer swing in the side yard and we all loved the fire pit, watching the deer and the excitement of the trains. A good time was had by all.

For the last 10 years my husband, children, grandchildren, and a couple of friends have spent a week in the Lakeside and Union Pier MI area. As our numbers increased, our need for a larger house was necessary. The Orchard Beach Farmhouse was perfect! There were areas where we could all be together but also lots of nooks for private activities. The house is beautifully decorated with many details. The kitchen is well stocked. The beach is not far and there's a wagon to transport all the beach necessities. I would highly recommend this house for a large group. We hope to come back!

We recently returned from a great stay at the property. We had several generations of our family all in once place. The house was immaculate, spacious, and well stocked. The grounds were beautiful and very private. We loved making meals at the home and playing wiffle ball in the back yard. A few things that you need to be comfortable with… 1. The house does get some road noise from the highway which is close by. If you are outside or have the windows open you will hear it. 2. Make sure you bring tic spray as they are prevalent in the woods. In all, we made amazing memories at this home and would come back again.

The house was very cool and plenty big for 10 adults and 4 kids. It was just a short walk to lake mi and had a huge property to hang out on as well. Would stay here again.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this lovely vacation home with my family, and I must say, it exceeded all our expectations. From the moment we stepped foot inside, we were greeted by a sense of space and airiness that made us feel instantly relaxed and at ease. The grounds surrounding the home were nothing short of incredible. The pictures we saw beforehand simply didn't do it justice. One of the aspects that impressed us was the impeccable cleanliness and decor of the home. Incredible stocked kitchen!! It was evident that great care had been taken to maintain the property to the highest standards. he accessibility of the home was also a key highlight, as it proved to be ideal for our older parents with limited mobility. They were able to navigate the property comfortably and without any hassle. We were fortunate enough to celebrate our parents' 50th wedding anniversary and enjoy a mini family reunion during our stay. Thanks to the home's spaciousness and thoughtful layout, everyone had their own private space and cozy rooms. The bathrooms were also designed to accommodate different needs, further adding to the convenience and comfort of our stay. While the beach was not directly adjacent to the property, it was just a short walk away. It's worth noting that the beach access has 60 stairs. Lastly, I must commend the graciousness of the property owners. They were incredibly accommodating .Their warm hospitality made our stay even more memorable and enjoyable.

This place is wonderful! It was perfect for our group, with big, airy central kitchen and dining areas, and lots of hidden living rooms with comfy furniture so people could get away to secluded areas for work or rest. The kitchen is well-appointed and well-designed for cooks. Bedrooms are quite spacious, with comfy beds. Set in a beautiful woodland, we felt surrounded by greenery and songbirds. The Lake Michigan beach is a short walk away. Outdoor spaces for humans and dogs are great.

I cannot say enough GREAT THINGS about our stay here!! The hosts were super accommodating and responsive for anything we needed! This house is one of a kind. You could easily spend an hour walking around the place looking at the amazing details. I wanted a weekend getaway to celebrate my birthday with friends and this was everything we wanted/needed and more. It was hard to leave this amazing place! Super close to the beach/Lake Michigan. Highly suggest booking here ☺️

We loved our stay here! It was amazing for families with young kids - the woods out back to explore and jjst a short trip to the beach! February temperatures were mild and perfect to be outside and in! Would definitely rent this again!!

Our group had an amazing time in the house; there was nothing we could have wanted that we didn't have! The kitchen is amazing, there is a ton of space to spread out and enjoy yourselves. We really appreciated the fenced in side yard for our small dog, and the owners were so gracious in letting us bring him. The walk to the beach is a tad farther than you think, but not too far at all. We look forward to staying again, and would love to spend time in this town in the summer! I bet it's bustling :)

Had a great time, house was unique in a very positive, spacious and perfectly comfortable way for our family of 7. Wonderful layout, living room kitchen great for socializing, playing board games, watching movies, etc. House a short walk to the beach and yet private enough you don’t feel too close to any neighbors. Would definitely stay again.

We had the most lovely holiday with 9 adults and 3 kids plus visiting cousins. The space is amazing and spacious, kitchen is fully equipped for a to prepare a big meal. Everything has been thought of -- from an extra large fridge, extra coffee carafes, extra seating, games, blankets, separate seating areas to spread out, etc. The house is very quiet -- you can have kids sleeping in the 4 bedroom wing, while others are still up in the main living space. The property has a lovely trail and the fenced in yard was great. The home is gorgeous, and close to all the fun of New Buffalo/ Union Pier, etc. The hosts are responsive and friendly! I hope we can come back soon. Highly recommend!

The stay was great. Giant place with ample room to enjoy a cabin getaway. The beach and hot tub were fantastic additions to the weekend. The hosts were helpful and responsive, the place was well stocked with any dishes/pots/pans you need to cook your meals. The internet wasn't very good but there are places nearby if you need to get wifi to take a video call.

Loved the eclectic style of the home. There were many comfortable spaces inside and outside the house for family activities. Highly recommend the experience staying at this Lakeside property.

Absolutely hands down the best vacation property we have ever rented. We enjoy cooking - the kitchen was fabulous!! It had everything we needed - even a cast iron skillet! I always travel with mine - this was the first time we stayed somewhere that provided one! We enjoyed the back deck a great deal and utilized eating out on the tables everyday! The screened porch off the back bedroom was the perfect relaxation spot to read a book! The outside shower was a big hit!! We enjoyed walking to the beach where we spent a great deal of our time. The location is just perfect! We can not wait to stay here again!

The farmhouse is big enough for a large group yet cozy enough when our group dwindled to three. Every cooking utensil was there, no need to bring anything. The house has an eclectic fun style-- we loved the bowling alley countertops and the farmhouse chic decor. One word of warning, if you hope to do any work or hold meetings via Zoom, the wifi is weak and will not support consistently. We solved this by going into Starbucks in New Buffalo. All in all, a lovely stay!!

This house is delightful, with several areas for people to congregate in or retire to. The deck/porch configuration is quite lovely (we particularly enjoyed dining outside), and the outdoor spaces (firepit, garden, trails in the woods) were all pleasant diversions during our stay. The walk to the water is a few minutes, but it's a straight shot, and the beach itself is great. Our two families were down there every day, sometimes twice a day. The trains are a trip. You'll notice them, but we didn't find them disrupting at all, and quite fun to watch pass by. Finally, you're only a short drive from all sorts of neat places (Sawyer, New Buffalo, Three Oaks); we found several great restaurants (Greenbush Brewing Co., for one) and some antique shops. And the Warren Woods preserve was a nice hike one morning. We couldn't have enjoyed it more!

Just returning from a relaxing vacation in Lakeside MI. We had a party of 9 adults/5 children. I must say we were enchanted by this property from the moment we pulled into the drive. It is thoughtfully and creatively laid out. There is a unique surprise around every corner. I found myself upon check in gleefully running from room to room. The areas to enjoy the outside are numerous. There is a spacious deck where the kids enjoyed nightly bubble blowing. The property is so large that you don’t need to worry that the giggling and gleeful shrieks of delight will bother any neighbors. While setting up a room in the wing for my Mother in law, I casually looked out the window and excitedly flung open the door to reveal the most quaint screened in porch I have ever seen, with 3 large slip covered couches to relax in. I didn’t realize it was there before booking. Exit the porch to the hot tub and outside shower and follow the deck past the 3 doors that allow access to the guest rooms on that side. There is a terrific patio set up and we all could eat dinner comfortably outside at the double tables or inside at the spacious dining tables. While I am reviewing the outside, there is a fenced in section with a swing that the kids enjoyed and a fire pit gathering area. The front porch has a swing bench to enjoy the scenery. Yes there is a train that passes by. I truly only heard the late night train once, possibly because we slept in the 2nd floor bedroom that has windows to that side of the house. But the utter excitement and joy when the kids heard the train coming, and as other reviewers have mentioned, yelled “train” and we ran to the front porch to watch it go by. It got so that they were disappointed if it were a short commuter Amtrak train. It was so much fun and worth any minor disruption. The private beach is a 10 minute walk away and you do have to navigate some stairs to get to it, but it was lovely and the water brisk, but that didn’t bother us any. Most times we just dropped off at the street and chose a time for pick up, which worked out just fine. Know you may not have cell service while on the beach and plan your communications accordingly. We also went to the public beach in New Buffalo. Which had parking, 7.50 for 3 hours, decking most of the way to the beach and lifeguards. But the kids all liked the association beach better. Our hosts Marjolein and Scott we’re very helpful and communication was a breeze. We would return in a heartbeat.

Our group of 11 stayed at Orchard Beach Farmhouse for a writers' retreat and it was perfect. The living space is huge with enough seating for everyone, plus there were several other little nooks inside and out where groups could split off for quiet time or for smaller conversations. We loved all of the fabulous decorations, and I'd like to get my own bowling alley counter tops :). The house was close to activities for those of us who wanted to go wine tasting, horseback riding, or walk to the beach. And we enjoyed the outdoor space to view the lunar eclipse/supermoon (if only it hadn't been so cloudy!). Thanks for a lovely place to stay!

Everyone loved this house! The things that we look for when renting a house were more than covered for the interior: the great room (kitchen, living, dining) had more than enough space for everyone to be together yet not feel crowded, the furniture throughout was comfortable and inviting, we cooked in every night and found EVERYTHING we needed in the kitchen, the bathrooms were spacious and modern, and the bedrooms were spacious with comfortable beds.We all felt that one of the best parts about the interior of the house was how much it connected you to the outside. The walls of windows and doors made you feel like you were outside all the time, which was perfect because we loved the outside. There were so many areas to explore between the screened back porch, the large deck just off the great room, the fire pit at the back of the property, the really large yard, the balcony off the master bedroom, etc., that it was easy to find your own space, which can sometimes be important during these trips. There were plenty of chairs and tables wherever you went.The 4 year old in our group loved the space to run indoors or out and to explore for bugs and stuff in the yard, but his favorite part was the train. They didn't come by often but, when they did, he would yell TRAIN! at the top of his lungs as he made a mad dash to the front porch to see it every time it went by. (FYI, I think we saw 3 trains max per day and, other than being a joy to the toddler, it did not impact our vacation one bit. We never heard the train at night.) The walk to the private beach was easy and we made the walk several times. We also spent one day up at Warren Dunes, which was about a 10 minute drive. We would recommend both highly.Marjolein and Scott were wonderful to work with. You can tell they poured a lot of themselves into the home and we really felt honored that they shared it with us. We would go back in a second and can't recommend it enough.
