This little cabin is very nice and very clean. The owner was very easy to work with. We enjoyed our stay.

Very cute cabin with a well-stocked kitchen. Loved the patio especially! A bit of trouble with the door code but the hosts were helpful in getting it sorted quickly.

My twin sister and I stayed here for a little weekend getaway. It was warm, clean and cozy and just perfect for our sisters’ weekend!

Donna and Bob were wonderful hosts, keeping us apprised of conditions in the area in the weeks leading up to our stay. They also offered recommendations on activities and local businesses. The property was incredibly clean and perfectly cozy for our family of four (kids age 7 and 9). The location of the property was fun, nestled on a hill, but this also created some challenges as the driveway was a bit steep and slippery for loading and unloading after a fresh 6"+ inches of snow ahead of our stay. Also keep in mind that getting to the cabin requires navigation of an outdoor staircase and then a 10 yard walk to the cabin entrance - this too was covered in snow and made for some slippery walks. The hosts did all they could to address the conditions by plowing the drive and salting the staircase which we greatly appreciated. Overall, a wonderful stay!

The cabin was perfect for us, close to town and stores but yet secluded.

The home is very comfortable, great design, stocked with everything you would need. I felt like I was walking into a brand new home! All that aside the rear covered deck is the real gem here and with the Monsoon rains ongoing during the week I stayed the deck was my go to space. Perfection in Clouldcroft!

My family of four just spend two magical weeks here! The location cannot be beat. It’s close enough to walk to downtown and the brewery but high enough up that it’s so quiet (truly the location is perfect). We’ve stayed at a lot of VRBOs and this one is the best stocked ever! They have all the basics but then the fridge was stocked with creamers and sparkling waters and condiments and the pantry had lots of spices and little items plus some coffee for the next morning. The house is brand new and super clean (typically I find VRBOs to be clean to the eye but under beds, cowing fans, blinds, etc are all super dusty. This was not the case. Every last inch of that place has been scrubbed). The owners live next door and their daughter lives down the hill which was handy when we needed a plunger (oops lol). The owners were in constant communication with us to ensure our stay was perfect and they were so nice. Bob even invited my husband into his art studio for an afternoon of great conversation. Truthfully, we couldn’t have had a better stay! The area is amazing as well: we hiked so many places, tubbed, shopped, wine tasted, etc. thank you Shepard’s for the most amazing stay. We cannot wait to come back!

Charming, new small cabin just above the village of Cloudcroft. Well equipped kitchen. Awesome deck in the trees. The hosts (Donna & Shep) were among the best we’ve ever dealt with & were immensely helpful. Don’t overpack as the cabin is accessed via some fairly steep stairs down the hill. Fortunately, Shep literally toted most of our stuff into the cabin for us. The weather was great for people seeking a respite from the heat in Texas. Tip: ask Shep for a peek at his art studio & works in progress. The cabin has several pieces of his beautiful art. Thanks Donna & Shep for a super stay! C. Sterett

The cabin is beautiful inside and out. Perfect for relaxing and cooling off in the mountain air. Donna and Bob have a little slice of Heaven. Everything you need is in the cabin for your stay. Highly recommend this cabin.

I loved my stay at this property, it will be my first choice if available when returning to Cloudcroft. I struggle to find constructive criticism for it. It’s basically a brand new home/cabin, everything in it is new. It’s fully stocked with everything you need in the kitchen, cooking utensils are also new. Washer and dryer work great, phenomenal water pressure throughout the unit and a great showerhead. Even though this cabin in is in a residential neighborhood, you still feel somewhat isolated due to all the pine trees in the neighborhood. It felt very private for me. The deck is a great place to relax. I was there during very windy times but the wind was not a factor sitting on the deck, the trees provide a nice wind break. The deck is shaded due to the roof and position of the house to the sun. It is very easy to get fresh air throughout this cabin as there are many windows to open. Communication with the owners was excellent. The few calls I made were answered and all the texts were replied to quickly. This is the second time I have rented a newly built structure, it is always the best, you’re guaranteed to not have problems that older units inherently have. I would rent this unit again without hesitation.
