Immaculate hotel, onsite facilities brilliant, staff friendly

I'd stayed here previously but arrived late and left early, not able to make any use of the restaurant, shops or park. That stay was comfy and exceeded my expectations but revisiting and making the most of HEX wsa well worth it.
The restaurant is incredibly well priced with friendly staff both at dinner and breakfast, stunning theming throughout the site and great facilities. Safe parking, fantastic full day exploring the wildlife park itself and the on site shops offered a great choice of local produce and gifts.

Property was ace and reception staff were the best but the bar staff member was ignorant never let you feel welcome had no conversation skills and never said please or thank you needs addressing needs a manager there to supervise
Upgraded to park side room don’t know what happened to the cleaner but the shower had not been cleaned but reception staff made my birthday special by putting ballon’s in the room and a small bottle of Prosecco

Interesting location. Motel style with kitchens in each floor. Good food choices in restaurant including a lovely afternoon tea.
Distance from car park to hotel. Room too small with no drawers and just a hanging rail. Unfinished setting.

The ease of checking in
The cheerful, welcoming staff at reception, location, the room was lovely decorated & the shower after a 10K was was fantastic.
The wildlife park was amazing, well thought out, plenty of places for a little sit if you needed it & the animals all looked happy and not stress pacing like we’d seen in other place before.

I paid 200.00 plus a 20 percent discount they gave us for best room 144 , but I hoped as a family we would see premium animals all we say is water and a head swimming in a pond ,would have liked to wake up and see the animals you would want to see and hear like a lion, giraffe ect

The food at dinner was excellent - breakfast was all cold and totally unappetising - the bacon was so undercooked that eggs too and the mushrooms didn’t look as though they had been cooked at all

Good, modern hotel with attached bar/restaurant.
There was no information in the room on its facilities. The heating control was difficult to operate. The bathroom sink plug did not seal, so we couldn't wash easily.
We were glad we'd brought slippers as the tiled floor made nocturnal visits to the bathroom cold on the feet!

All the staff we spoke to were really friendly. 11am checkout is a nice late checkout so you don't have to rush.
The very expensive family balcony room overlooking the park we paid for actually overlooked a building site more than the park and looked different to the picture on the website. The rooms have no carpets so you can hear every footstep from the room above and for the price, the food is very average. Feels more like a backpacker hotel which may be the feel its going for but felt very bland and basic. If it was half the price I would say it was good value but for what we were charged I'd say it was poor value.

Great location, takes the pressure out of travelling back and forth in one day. Modern, clean and plenty of amenities on site!
I do feel a little disappointed with the upsell for ‘park view’ which mislead me to believe a view of a few animals. Instead it was dinosaurs haha!

Good breakfast plenty of options, can see many animals from park side brilliant for pictures and the little ones
Safe wouldn’t work so couldn’t leave anything of value in the room, this meant having to carry everything about with us wasn’t a lot of items just a little inconvenient, also wouldn’t let me book more than 1 night without booking and paying for separate nights.

Upgraded to a Parkview room, but to be honest my room just overlooked a picnic area. My room 222 was located next to the lifts . These were very noisy during the night, I kept hearing the lift, announce” doors opening second floor” I suggest this is put on a timer to turn off the announcements. Also the fridge in my room was very noisy. Would come on quite often during the night with a Thud and wake me.

View wasn’t great for a park view although hard to complain as we was upgraded free of charge to that room when we arrived, I do think if someone paid for that specific room tho they may be a little disappointed.

Very good location, we needed to be at the Wildlife Park. Very comfortable, we didn't dine or have breakfast but everything was available. Appreciated the use of a kitchenette. Also good hot drink facilities and a small fridge was a bonus.

Excellent location with great facilities both in the hotel itself and nearby. Room was clean with fabulously fluffy (and large) towels! Template Spa toiletries, decaf coffee bags and Yorkshire tea all added an element of luxury to the stay.
Park view description was a bit of a stretch for the room we were allocated. Main gate and if you crane your neck you might see a sea lion was more of a better description.

This was our second visit as the hotel is lovely, very clean, the room enormous with great facilities, and it was extremely good value (without breakfast)
Breakfast was not good value so we skipped it. Parking is a long way from the hotel - and you have to fetch a trolley for heavy luggage.

Spotlessly clean throughout. Lovely comfy bed and great bathroom. Staff wonderful from reception team to housekeepers. Lots of facilities onsight (lovely little shops). My grandchildren loved the assortment of biscuits on the welcome tray! Right next door to the Animal Park which was the reason for our visit. The whole family enjoyed our stay. Great buffet breakfast with lots of choice.
There was nothing not to like really. Breakfast was maybe a little pricy but if you're the kind of person who enjoys a good hearty eat as much as you want, then you will not be dissapointed and there are alternatives to to the buffet if you only want a light bite so not really a grumble!
