My family decided to take a quick, early-year getaway down to Emerald Isle from Raleigh. It was one of the best decisions we’ve made in a long time. Though we were there for only a couple of days, this property truly helped us hit the reset button heading into spring! The furniture was comfortable, clean, and very relaxing; much of it seemed to be brand new. The pool was everything it was explained to be, and more. While we were there, temperatures were in the 50s and 60s, which would’ve kept us from even considering getting in the water on any other vacation. This pool’s heated feature completely changed that for us! It was the highlight of our stay. The kids spent hours in it, as did I. Just imagine audible waves crashing in the background as you stare up at the star filled sky while taking a midnight swim. As my header asks, what more can you ask for? The combination of comfort, space, amenities, and oceanfront location make this property hard to match…not to mention the cozy hometown feel of Emerald Isle itself. We’ve been to many oceanfront properties as a family, but this one is hard to match. Do yourself a favor and try it out!

We were friends and families enjoying a week at the beach. The house is mirror image on each side and great for multi-families - two living rooms/two kitchens, single doorway between two living rooms is only connection. Plenty of space for kids and adults to be both together and separate. The pool was great- heater worked well which has not been true at some other places we have rented. Kitchens were adequately equipped. Location (~1.5 from grocery, ABC store, etc) is perfect. Easy walk down beach to pier and pier restaurant if you need a night out. Owner contact (minimal necessary for our stay) was easy and quick response.

The location and view of this property is perfect…but that’s about it. This property is dirty, worn and has a serious bug issue. We had two live bugs in our living room as soon as we checked in. Not small bugs…large water bugs. I understand them being on the ground level due to moisture in the area…but when they are on the second and THIRD floor of the property, there is a major issue. We had two large, live bugs in our bedroom. I called the property management company and they sent someone out the next day. That basically did nothing. We had them on our walls, running across the floor, and on the steps…to the third floor of the house. Clearly there is a major issue here. The owner informed me that they just had Orkin out there to spray on Oct 8th…again, there is a clear issue happening. The house was not clean, it is very worn out (furniture, kitchen items, and bathrooms). Do yourself a huge favor and higher a better cleaning company and a weekly pest control until you get things under control.

The team had a wonderful time. Enjoyed game night. The jacuzzi was warm and clean. The view and the weather was the best. Loved the joined open units. Allowed for separate meetings

Let me preface with, I understand it was the end of the season. The house we chose was both sides of a duplex because we needed two king bedrooms and at least 4 queen bedrooms to accommodate the six couples and a one year old. We’ve been to Emerald Isle many times and the Pinnacle seemed to fit all of our needs with a pool and large deck. Pros: The double kitchens were great. The aforementioned pool was fantastic. The views were amazing, as well as the proximity to shopping. Cons: The description of the house mentions that one of the master bedrooms has a kids bed. It does not. My family would probably never be described as neat freaks, but the owners desperately need a new cleaning service. We were all surprised by the overall cleanliness of the house at check in. Yes, it’s the beach. Done it 15-20 times, but the amount of dust on the nightstands and dressers was crazy. The floors were sticky like they weren’t really mopped. My bigger concerns were the condition of the showers. The doors had lots of mildew and the shower floors weren’t very clean. The linen service wasn’t much better. Sheets and pillowcases were way past their lifespan. Fortunately, the towels were better and plentiful. I’m a little meh on the actual value for the cost. I’ve certainly spent more on some places and spent less for others. Overall, my family had a great time because we were all together and the beach is always a great vacation! I just have to give some thought if I’ll use VRBO again.

We had a wonderful time staying at the Pinacle. The houses are airy and well maintained. The pool is superb, the beach not crowded, there are plenty of chairs, well equipped kitchens, fabulous laundry facility. Everything worked out great for our extended family of 10. If you stay, it is best to use the vacuum cleaner provided to keep the house sand free or at least as much as possible. Enjoy!

This home was perfect for 5 of my single children and my husband and I. My 82 yr old mother-in-law also joined us. My MIL was able to sleep on the first floor on one side and my kids could be on the other side in the living area with the adjoining door closed hanging out without disturbing. The two kitchens were perfect! We deemed one the "baking" kitchen and the other a "meal prep" kitchen. The pool and hot tub were awesome and were well used in the evenings. Loved the views from the deck and balcony. The gazebo was a nice touch as my MIL could sit and rest after taking short walks before coming up the steps inside. The view there was also breathtaking. The only thing that was an issue is that the many steps to/from the beach from the main level were a challenge for my 82 yr old MIL. Also, as she had to sleep on the main floor the bathroom she used had a low toilet which she struggled getting up and down on and couldn't take a shower since she couldn't step into the tub. Because of these things if you have someone who is physically challenged this house is not for you. Overall , despite the challenges, it was a great week for our family. We would definitely rent it again if my MIL was not with us.

We loved this house so much we barely left the house. We spent our entire week going back and forth from the beach and pool all day. We loved being able to see the ocean from the pool area and hot tub. We also enjoyed the short walk to the pier and Sunset Slush. We had ages 4 to 82 and everyone had a great time!!!

Middle bathrooms upstairs as well as downstairs baths on both sides need remodeling. Cleaning is not done behind furniture. Needs to be moved. Pans need replacing. Pool people came in the middle of the week and there was no water when I went to take a shower on the East side. Shower in master bath on east side did not work at all. Spent a lot for house and not worth it. Have had better houses with more amenities for a lot less.

We super enjoyed our stay at the Pinnacle – again! This is our favorite spot on the Crystal Coast. The house is big, beautifully decorated & accommodated. So many rooms to spread out and relax, or to enjoy each other. The main pool deck & pool are HUGE. And a hot tub with a view is so cool. Lots of beach in front of the property and the pier is a quick 30-min stroll down the beach. The location is awesome, on a quiet street yet close to many excellent restaurants & shopping. We loved biking all over. Fishing was great and the grandkids really enjoyed the night swims and crab hunts under the stars. Would highly recommend this preferred property. Enjoy!

The time that we spent at this amazing property couldn't have been better! We relaxed in the heated pool, ate our meals outside enjoying the ocean and made wonderful memories that we will always have. The Rockwells are such great hosts! We booked the Pinnacle for our annual family beach trip and it was perfect!! There were plenty of bedrooms and a fully stocked kitchen. The pool was perfect for the kids and the hot tub was just what the adults needed. Highly recommend this property and we hope to make this our annual rental!

Location excellent. Beach and pool amazing. Great for large family gatherings. Bathrooms could use some updating.

Our daughter got married at Emerald Isle, and we stayed at The Pinnacle for a long weekend before, during and after the wedding. It was the perfect place! There were 13 of us all ages; having two kitchens and two living areas gave us just the right amount of space! The house had everything we needed and the owner was amazing! We loved the pool and hot tub and enjoyed being outside on the deck soaking up the sun! I would highly recommend this house, and we will definitely try to rent it again when we go back down to Emerald Isle!

We had a fantastic time. Everything was amazing and the house was a perfect fit for our family. We were able to put kids on one side and the older generation on the other.

It's hard to sum it up. Everything was great. From being right on the beach, to the hot tub, to a quiet neighborhood, to minutes away from the grocery stores. Everything was great.

We enjoyed our stay at The Pinnacle, it was beautifully decorated and very well taken care of. Plenty of space for everyone to spread out and get their private time. The pool, hot tub, and access to the beach were wonderful additions to the stay. Our only complaints would be… 1) The bathrooms were nice but showers/tubs could all be cleaner - there is pretty significant soap scum and calcium buildup in each of them. 2) There were no ‘extra’ towels or any beach towels, which meant we had to go buy beach towels for everyone. 3) Kitchen items were hard to locate and very scattered - I’m guessing this is due to having the two kitchens and guests grabbing from one to use in the other. Ultimately, we had everything we needed, it just took a while to find. We did have in issue in the middle of our stay, we discovered a pretty severe leak the kitchen sink on the east side, it took a little bit to get in touch with the hosts, but once we did they took care of the issue as quickly as they were able. All in all, we had an excellent stay in a beautiful house that we would be happy to stay in again.

We really enjoyed our stay…we had 10 adults and 2 toddlers …plenty of room for all…we had to stay indoors for 2 days…because of hurricane Ian and we never felt crowded…we also loved baby gate locks around the pool…gave us an extra sense of security with the babies . It was clean and pleaseant!

Perfect for family reunions when you need two kitchens. Lots of deck to enjoy the view, pool, hot tub, outdoor shower and lots of beach chairs. Great spot!

Bathrooms are original from 1996, many with mold and grime in the shower doors. Highly disappointed for the price of this house and listed as new to rental. Bedsheets were over used, very thin and many stains including blood on the one queen. The one queen bathroom on main floor had NO hot water the entire week, we contacted management and they acted as we didn’t know how to use the 26 year old bath faucets…said a plumber charges trip fee. It’s a great location, but needs some serious updating and some extra forks!

Every once in a while you stay somewhere that takes your expectations to a whole new level – this is it! But only if you like a very roomy house that gives everyone the space they need, with expansive beach and horizon views (sunrise & sunset!), a nice big pool next to a gorgeous hot tub resting at the edge of the dunes, and a beach that’s begging to be explored with the pier a short 30-minute walk away. Our family had an awesome time here with something for everyone from our youngest grandchild to great-grandma, good times for all! This beach home is very clean and comfortable, well accommodated and ocean views in abundance – like being on a private ship. The owners were great to work with, and the locals were friendly and delivered service with a smile and then some. You feel like the "King of the Beach" with the vistas provided from the expansive deck and over-sized pool. Nothing like a night swim under the stars to put the finish on a perfect day. 2 kitchens gave us lots of space to work with and keep the crew happy. Good times are nearby with some awesome restaurants and a visitor’s center that was a pleasure to experience and very informative – this area has so much to offer! We will be back, and back, and back again Lord willing.
