The Starbucks ladies barista’s very polite and friendly. The restaurant greeter very professional making sure you have a seat selection of your choice.

Absolutely loved this hotel. Beautiful, historic property with nice dining options, a wonderful spa and a short walk to downtown. I can't wait for my next visit.

We were told that the more upscale restaurant, The Regency Room on the property would provide fine dining at its best. Lowell greated us at the door, provided us with a beautiful calligraphy souvenir of our name, and seated us after a short wait.
.Lowell even came over to the table when he saw that we were sitting for quite a while and the assigned waitress still had not come over to the table to introduce herself. That waitress never came over to our table the entire evening although that was clearly her section and she had to pass our table several times to serve the quests to the left and right of our table.
Lowell then asked one of the "supervisors" Leah to assist us. Unfortunately Leah was condesending and inappropriate in her interaction with us--even going so far as to declare "we didn't take a bite out of the food" when asked about a considerable space on one side of our salad.
It is unfortunate that the service spoiled what otherwise could have been a good experience in the Regency Room. The music was great, other guests were lovely, the room is beautiful, even the gentleman who served the water was professional and pleasant. It was hard to enjoy the food after receiving such unmatched service.
It pains me to give such a review and I hope the resesterant will provide additional training for its staff.

This is a lovely property within easy walking distance of downtown. Everything about our stay was perfect. Several dining choices in the hotel ( including Starbucks at ground level), a lovely pool area, excellent service. The only downside was paid parking…no doubt to help pay for the shuttle service to and from the lot. Highly recommend!

My husband and I enjoyed our stay very much last weekend. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and we had the best service everywhere. We went :) The Pine room with Amanda and Nygel as our waitress and waiter, the two nights that we ate dinner, everything we ate was to die for, but I will say our favorite was the steak highly highly recommend. We did enjoy the breakfast. The Coffee room (STEAM) I believe there were two ladies in there who were just as nice as can be. We had delicious made to order omelettes, and our waitress was wonderful in there as well could have not asked for better thank you so much and we look forward to returning soon!!

Property is beautiful and needs to keep its original character from, rooms, staff, service etc. I had styrofoam cups for water and coffee. No glass cups for drinking and no drinking glasses in the bathroom. Hard to believe for a collectors item hotel. Dining room is beautiful, however for breakfast you are pushed to use the buffet where the food is cold. Being able to order what you like from the menu creates a more pleasant experience for a perceived higher end hotel.

I liked the proximity to the Berglund center and the fact that a free shuttle was available. Staff was very courteous. The room was clean but some kind of wrapper was left on the floor in clear sight. The ac worked but it still felt warm/ humid in the room. Overall a good experience.

The property was grand even though it was under construction. The pool was nice and parking was convenient for a price. The room was very comfortable. Did not try the food because it was very limited and expensive.

The front desk staff was not the friendliest... and I was a bit put off upon arrival. However the rest of the staff I encountered were all very hospitable. The room / bathroom were immaculate! So I do very much appreciate that. The walls are a little thin and we could hear the TV in the next room, but nothing that prevented sleeping.

We loved our stay at Hotel Roanoke. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Valet staff were awesome and also provided convenient complimentary shuttle service. Thank you to Taz and crew, you guys were awesome!

I stayed 2 separate nights and the renovated room the for the second stay was absolutely gorgeous. I would recommend that one try to ask for a renovated room. Every member of the staff was extremely helpful and friendly. A wonderful oasis!

What a beautiful classic hotel. Our room had recently been renovated and incredibly well done. The bed was very comfortable and the room was very quiet. The breakfast was excellent and our server couldn’t have been more professional or friendly. All in all a wonderful stay.

Pros: the hotel is pretty looking from the exterior and in a convenient location if you have things to do in the city limits.
Cons: Everything else. Parking here is extremely inconvenient. Your options are either to park yourself and walk on an unlit, unsupervised trail frequented by homeless people, or have your car valet parked which is also apparently the only service of any kind this hotel offers (I couldn’t even get someone to hold a door open for me while carrying bags.) Even if you park yourself you’re paying $15 per day on top of the ridiculous price for this stay. The room itself was cleaned poorly, the bathroom especially still had residue and splashes from the previous guest. The hotel is noisy and full of loud drunks, the walls and doors are paper thin. There’s also an overall attitude of elitism from the staff without actually doing anything to provide a superior stay. I was barely interacted with by any of the staff and still the first thing you’re greeted with when entering your room is a way to tip them virtually. A complete waste of money.

Hotel Roanoke is a nice place to stay. It was comfortable, most of the staff was pleasant. One woman at the desk during checkout was a bit annoyed when I didn’t immediately go to her window. She was busy blowing her nose when I was approaching so I was trying to give her minute. Then she just stood there and yelled “hello?” at me like she thought I was stupid.
For the price, I was expecting a bit more from the rooms and overall experience. Nothing really set it apart from other mid-level hotels I’ve stayed at.

We absolutely loved our stay at Hotel Roanoke! It was a beautiful property, very well maintaned. It was a short walk to downtown and we also loved the restaurants. The staff was approachable and friendly. We will definitely stay here again!
