Vallet service is mandatory and they charge you 65 dollars a day for their service. I was not aware of this until I checked out and was charged and additional $395 for room fee and other resort fees along with the $65 vallet. I was also charged a, Excesise fee? I paid hotel taxes and fees through Expedia and was not expecting all the other fees that they charged me when I left.

While on our stay workers were picketing limiting access to enter and exit. We asked for a refund and they had said we have one coming. Still not received.

Horrible place for a vacation

Would not recommend. Very poor costumer service if you need anything no one will help you. The stuff is rude especially by the pool. Food is whatever and overall experience is not very pleasant.

The pools are epic and amazing - but crowded. Not fun for kids who need 3’ for standing and splashing around - everything is 4’ or taller except for one small sandy wading area. The slides don’t open until 10 and close at 5 - for the money you pay to stay here they could staff them the entire time the pool is open. Pool beverage service is abhorrent - so slow and no one comes when they promise they will. Impossible to get a chair in the shade unless you are out there at 7am staking your spot out - once again for the cost of the resort can’t they put more umbrellas in?! Honestly it was downhill from the start - check in took over an hour of waiting in line - and zero apology or making up for it. It didn’t seem to be a one time issue either as many times when we went through the lobby there was a long line queued. When I stay at a 5* hotel I do not expect to wait that long - I’m paying for top notch service. I was expecting to be impressed with the property but in the end the only impressive part was the gym. Gorgeous and state of the art equipment. Housecleaning service was also lackluster - took 3x of calling them to properly make the sofa bed up (which by the way is hard as a rock) and they accidentally took a white dress shirt left on the bed one day and couldn’t find it when we alerted them. Would not return to this resort - I’m irritated for the money we paid that it felt like half that value if not even less.

The staff were very friendly. But there was a strike going on, and there were very little staff around. Getting a drink next too the pool was impossible unless you bought a cabana for $1000.

The staff is AMAZING! The staff is the best part of the hotel. But walking to the rooms there was roaches, and we also saw a mouse on the 4th floor around the shops.

The Property was beautiful, our family loved it.

Our stay at Grand Wailea was Grand! Joseph was welcoming at check-in and upgraded our room for my husband’s birthday. The view from our balcony was spectacular. The property is beautiful and well maintained (the groundskeepers are friendly). I could have literally stayed at the beach or pool all day. The food at the Luau was delicious and way too much to eat. Keep in mind the resort is open air so birds will show up to breakfast at lkena, just relax and enjoy that fabulous food and service(tell Edison he is the best). We loved our stay at Grand Wailea.

Amazing hotel with incredible views and gardens. The complimentary yoga on the beach and scuba classes were a plus having it right at the hotel. Thr gym is several rooms and has everything that you need and more. The rooms were spacious, including the bathroom and balcony. Full sized, conditioner, body wash, lotion, and after sun lotion were in room. The number of pools and water slides were plenty for all the guests. We Will definitely try and stay there again.

Amazing pool system for the kids, but cloudy pool water needs more attention. Food very mediocre and way overpriced. Grand lobby and nice comfortable rooms, but still not worth the money to stay for more than one day to experience the pools.

First time to Maui! We’ve been to Kauai, and Oahu, a few times. We’ve stayed at 5 Star resorts in Fiji and the Caribbean, so I’d say our review is one that can be trusted. We read reviews, trip advisor, Reddit and TikToks prior to coming and most were not great I’d say, so our expectations were low. We traveled without kids, just husband and wife in a an anniversary trip. The Grand Wailea is truly a top notch resort. The grounds and resort interior are very well kept, especially for such a highly traveled location. The first think I judge is a rooms bathroom, the minor details, such mildew or dirty corners, old paint etc. The resort definitely went through an upgrade recently or is very well maintained. The staff from the check in to the pool side servers (such as Sparkle and Lei at the adult) were great. Cabana boys who assist with getting you a beach umbrella and chair were quick and courteous. The resort location is in between the Marriott and the 4 Season, essentially middle of the very nice beach. We took a 10 minute Uber ride to the Makena State Beach, however the water at the resort was warmer and more convenient for snorkeling. The downside, the restaurants definitely lack in menu options, prices are too high, we understood it’s Hawaii things are generally more expensive. However we felt the steakhouses and restaurants at the nearby shops, were more cost effective and of better quality. We recommend walking to the island Gourmet Market for breakfast and lunch.

Overall a wonderful experience.

Loved every drop. The rooms, the view, our upgrade and restaurant options. Met a lovely magazine owner there to feature property and agreed it was stunning. Id love to see an elevated focus on non-alc drinks, elixirs, mocktails, and smoothies. I was missing my options so plentiful in California. Id pay for quality NA options and zero-proof mocktails. Ty!

Unbelievable hotel, staff, pools, shopping, food and we had a fabulous time with our family!

Arrived July 4. Stood in line to check in for over an hour. Then the beach BBQ ran out of food and lobby bar was understaffed and waited an extensive time for any service. Glasses in room were not cleaned several times. Kid was 50 inches but staff originally would not provide wrist band to prove over 48 inches even after standing above the required measuring location.
