Area is very quiet and safe. Hotel could benefit from in-room service

Beautiful hotel, lobby smells amazing!!!We picked this hotel because of the location. We went to a concert at Soldier Field. It was about a 20 min walk. Since there's no parking, we parked in the uncovered parking lot behind the hotel for $40 a night. The parking at Hilton across the street was $80. There were plenty of dining options around as well. We would definitely stay here again.

This hotel has gone down hill in the past 3 years. The front desk staff is rude and argumentative. I was put in a room thst had no dresser to un pack and only a shelf and a low bar the was blocked by the safe. There was no water pressure in the shower and the water never got hot. We grabbed a quick bite at the restraint. The food was expensive and terrible. After spending a great deal of money hosting guests here for my daughters wedding what I got this time compared to then was like night and day. I forgot to mention a brand new pair of AirPods was taken out of a bag that I had stored under a bench. Security never followed up and I was blown off at check out. Never again will I stay at the Blackstone.

Atmosphere, rooms very nice and clean

It was a nice hotel, however because we booked through Expedia there was a $15 dollar charge per day for the WIFI. Which is BONKERS.

They need to add security, both at the doors and in the elevator. Should have to use key to get floor. We did not feel safe.

Really good check in experience. Hotel is maintained very well. It is an old hotel, but with modern touches. Easy to get to and to get to events or attractions.

I guess i should only book through Marriott. As a Platinum Elite, they didnt have my number until i gave it to the front desk. They already had my room assigned so there was no upgrade. My room was tucked in some back corner directly next to and across from the housekeeping so everytime i left the room i was surrounded by laundry carts. The restaurant bar closes at 10pm even with a bar full of consumers, it closes at 10pm....not sure what that was about

Nice hotel

This property lacks the customer care. I experienced an issue at midnight, was downgraded to a room that allegedly was the same rate as the one I was moved to. I highly doubt it but because I was tired, I dismissed it. The woman, while nice, was thanking me for not being upset instead of trying to go above and beyond to make it right. I booked a lakeview room and was told that because I was on a low floor I shouldn't expect to see the lake - that just makes no sense, maybe don't call it a lakeview room if that's the case. This place is not ADA compliant and the front lobby is so busy, you can barely move around. I found it very funny that the staff was referring people to use the Hilton services across the street (microwave, coffee, etc). Against my better judgement, I stayed here instead of my preferred Hilton. Won't ever make that mistake again. Overall, not up to my standards. Room was old, clearly plumbing or sewage issues in the building. Nothing charming about this place and lack of customer service made it 10 times worst. I will never stay here again.

A bit overpriced in my opinion. Wi-Fi wasn’t included.

We stayed at the Blackstone due to its proximity to a concert at Soldier Field. It’s a gorgeous old hotel! Love how they’ve updated the rooms and bath to me modern but classic to fit the feel of the building.

The Blackstone is very nice, the decor is good. The rain showers have very little water pressure. I felt that for the price the hotel is lacking a little.

Wonderful visit! The proximity to the art museum, and other downtown attractions was very convenient. The history of the facility and decor was harmonious. My wife and I enjoyed our stay.

Staff was awesome. Room was AMAZING! Highly recommend lake view king. I got there super early bc of flight and they had my room ready. Easily walkable to the red line.

Really loved the hotel and great views of the lake. No room service which was a big negative. And no snacks to purchase other than a few items in a vending machine. Merkat Bar closed at 10 which was rather early.

Fantastic stay, best bed and sleep ! No service room, but it’s fine you can get a bathrobe & sleeper at the reception, walkable and convenient.

We arrived a day later than originally expected due to flight delays and schedule cancellations. Despite having pre-booked a two queen bed room, upon arrival, we were informed by the hotel check-in staff that it had been sold to someone else because we didn't show up. While it's frustrating enough that our reserved room was given away despite us having paid for a four-day stay, the fact that there was no two queen bed room available immediately, and we had to wait until 3 PM due to the flight delays and schedule cancellations, forced us to reluctantly check into a one king bed room to rest our weary bodies. Whether this situation aligns with proper hotel check-in procedures warrants further investigation, but it doesn't seem fair or justifiable to sell a reserved room to someone else just because the original occupants arrived late, especially when the full payment has already been made on my credit card. The check-in staff argued that we should have been notified of the delay in advance, but it's important to acknowledge that communication with travelers coming from overseas and while in-flight is limited. Furthermore, the one king bed room we ended up checking into, out of necessity, lacked amenities compared to the initially reserved two queen bed room, yet there was no sense of apology or remorse from The Blackstone Hotel regarding this inconvenience. While the cleaning staff were friendly, the overall standard of customer service at the hotel leaves much to be desired.

Absolutely loved the vibe of this hotel. It was like a blast from the past. From the flooring to the architecture it was beautiful. Even the elevators!! Would give this place 10 stars if I could. Will definately be returning.
